The Knight stands gloating over the fallen human, as is caught totally off guard by a purple blast from the far corner of the room. It catches him directly center mass; he staggers, but still has plenty of fight left in him.
At the far side of the room, a mystic word is uttered within the circle or runes, and the Wizard becomes visible for a single moment, before he is enveloped in a blinding flash of green light. When your eyes clear, the man is nowhere to be seen.
Cassyt is enraged by this twin turn of events. The normally low-key scholar screams "ENOUGH!" and rushes over to Destin. She snarls "by Kelemvor, the only deaths in this chamber tonight will be Thayan." A brooch on her person begins to glow, suffusing her hands, and spreading to Destin. The brooch shatters from the strain of casting Revivify. She stands, interposing herself between Destin and the Knight.
"And my own, if required."
bold may go; in this case, this is Destin, revivified with a single hit point.
Destin fell to the floor, his body dead, as he awoke in a strange place. Around him the grey fogginess of an unknown location surrounded him, but there were others there too. They were calling out prayers.
"Chauntea, lady of life, guide to your side, your ever faithful servant." "Mystra, lady of mysteries, allow me passage to your home. This devout follower has sung your praises for ever so long." "Bane, my lord, I died in your service, ensuring that strife would continue within Faerûn."
He glanced around, trying to figure out what was going on. Then he heard the snarl of an enraged follower.
"By Kelemvor, the only deaths in this Chamber tonight will the Thayan."
Destin suddenly awakens, his eyes bolting open. What happened? Did he have a vision, or was that really what lay beyond. His memory of it is strained, but for now there is a fight to be done.
Destin, alive with 1 hit point, gets to his feet. He sees Cassyt standing in front of him, then holds the gash on his side. "Wh-what are you doing?" He says in a strained tone, retrieving his handaxes from the floor. He takes a dodge action and holds his axes ready to parry, sidestepping beside the knight.
The cultist, seeing two dead kobolds, a fled Wizard, and a Knight face somebody back from the dead, screams and charges Marrow and swings with his Scimitar: 11 Damage: 6
The Knight sneers down at Cassyt, and whispers "so be it."
He takes two swings at Cassyt: 25 Damage: 1123 Damage: 10
Marrow dodges to the side of the cultist, whose attack misses by a mile, then feeling inspired, he jabs forward with his rapier: Attack: 18 Damage: 8. (Used my inspiration here).
The Knight's sword swings back and forth like a scythe, and Cassyt drops, still, on the backswing.
Bastian's arrow glances off the plate armor, but Casmenos seizes on the distraction to stab deeply where the plates meet at the joint. For the first time, doubt appears to flicker in hs eyes.
Across the room, Marrow's weapon pierces the cultist deeply. As he withdraws, he can scarcely believe the fellow is still on his feet.
Witnessing the heroics of Cassyt and then her own demise, Tumal throws caution to the wind and runs forward (east, but not coming within 5 feet of the cultist). As he runs, his hand makes a sweeping gesture, his lips whisper a few words in Elvish, and a flash of light streaks from the crystal at his throat toward the knight. Once he reaches Cassyt's side, he touches her and calls upon the light to bring her back from the darkness.
(Just a heads-up I'll be out of town this weekend. Assume Destin will be giving some retributive strikes into the back of this knight for taking down Cassyt.)
Weakened by being mostly dead today, Destin's first blow skids off the plate mail, but his second strikes a glancing blow on the Knight.
Harried on both sides, the Knight takes one swing at Casmenos 24 damage: 10 and Destin: 1215, while the Cultist makes a desperate lunge at Marrow. 15 Damage: 3
Marrow dodges once again, and thrusts forward with his sword against the cultist. Yondalla, this would be a good time for some aid to your loyal servant: Attack: 9 Damage: 4. He grimaces in frustration, and then glares at the cultist Cultists, he thinks, really, is there anything this world needs less?
