Dealuri dodges the acid (22) but gets the full blow of the fire (12) so takes 11 damage. Seeing the captive and her companions apparently recovering, Dealuri makes a decision. Being short on medical skills but long on unintelligence, she approaches the dragon. "You were as brave as a dragon, one would say. You must be hurt some. I am sorry that I am no healer so cannot help you much there. But you killed so many, we will sing songs about you when we all leave this dreadful place. We could call the song - Grimfang the Destroyer of Kobolds." She also is no bard but remembers that Barnabas Bombast had advised young adventurers to be extra nice to dragons, if they ever came across one.
Vakas turns to see Thanadol on the ground, hearing Skritch’s message in his mind. He pulls out of his pack the scroll of healing word that he was given, he moves quickly to within 60 feet and points at Thanadol, reading the words on the page. He heals Thanadol for (3 + 4 +2) - 9 hit points of healing, hopefully bringing him back to consciousness.
Then he quickly goes back to the chained up man in the corner of the room, working on unlocking them and releasing him. “Are you Elvyn? We came here to release you. Can you walk? We need to leave here quickly.” Sleight of hand, if needed : (6, if given help : 24).
The last thing he’d like to do is to move quickly to the blueish kobold, before he is eaten, and quickly search his body, looking for anything of note. Investigation : 24
Then he would quickly move away, try to gather everyone up in the far end of the room, and make their way out.
OOC: Regarding loot logistics, if you make the roll then you decide what goes where. I will trust to fair play for people to not hog the loot and leave a strong hint in the description if an item would be ideal for another party member.
Dealuri, the dragon, like all of its kind, takes the praise as a lion to fresh meat—slow at first, with a measured sniff, then devouring it with an eager hunger. There is vanity in its blood, bred deep, as ancient as the black peaks where it first cracked its shell. Flattery does not surprise it, nor stir shame—it is its due, and it accepts it not with gratitude, but with the quiet arrogance of a creature who knows the world itself had once bowed to its ancestors. Make a persuasion roll with advantage to discover how much your words are appreciated.
Rachus, you and Ember cross the chamber with measured steps, your shadows flickering across cold stone walls. The prisoner—gaunt and hollow-eyed—lifts his gaze as you draw near, the stink of old blood and damp straw clinging to him like a second skin. You offer the waterskin, and he drinks as though the very taste might anchor him back to life. His hands tremble, lips slick with the spill, and when he lowers it, his eyes shine—not with tears, but with something deeper, raw and wordless. Gratitude, yes, but also the faintest glimmer of hope, brittle and trembling like the last ember in a long-dead fire.
Vakas, your voice trembles as you speak the final syllables from the scroll, the words thick with ancient power, older than the stone beneath your boots. For a heartbeat, the world holds its breath. Then movement. Thanadols breath comes easier. His chest rises with a shuddering, the colour creeping back to his cheeks like dawn to a frost-bitten field. He groans, the sound low and ragged, and lifts himself to a seated sprawl, blinking as though waking from a dream that had sunk its fangs too deep. He shakes his head, slow and unsteady, casting off the last clinging fingers of death, ghostly and reluctant to let him go. And in your gut, where despair had settled like lead, relief blooms sudden and fierce, warm enough to chase the cold away.
(with a 6) Moving to the prisoner your first attempt to open the locked shackles is met with failure. The man shifts himself to give you space to work as he answers your questions :
"Thank all the gods old and new," he breaths, "Yes, I am Elvyn and yes I think I can manage to walk out of this place. Who are you? How did you find me?"
(then with a 24) With the aid of Rachus and Skritch you manage to free Elvyn from his chains and help him to his feet. He is sorely wounded but able to move with some assistance.
Leaving him to the care of your companions then you move to the body of the blue kobold and search the corpse. (with a 24) you find :
A small pouch containing 24 silver
A dagger that appears to have been fashioned from a large beasts tooth (A quick glance at Grimfang hints at the source of this weapon, probably best not to show it to the dragon)
As you complete your search something moves within the kobold tunic and you flinch back as a small lizard emerges. It licks at the air and fixes its beady eyes on you before quick as a flash jumping onto your arm and scuttling up onto your shoulder.
The party begin to gather near the exit while Dealuri has the dragon distracted.
Once all are gathered near the exit, Skritch telepaths the party and Elvyn and Ember, "Dear companions, our dear comrade Dealuri is busy praising the dread beast. Maybe we should all support her in that and then make the most expeditious exit, er, possible? Rachus, don't suppose you can spontaneously invent the song Dealuri alluded to or help in any other Bardic way?"
Skritch gives up Sunhill's saddle, not for Elvyn to ride on (Sunhill is medium sized, he's a massive mastiff and Skritch is very proud of his mighty steed), but to lean on to make his travel easier. Skritch will walk alongside, minding the reins and keeping Sunhill from racing away from under the damaged prisoner.
Skritch is ready to leave with their rescued quarry in the least aggravate-a-dragoning way possible...
(OOC to rest of party: I have added the various flasks and vials to my inventory. Let me know which ones, other than the two I mentioned, you want and I'll remove them from mine)
Skritch thinks to himself, we are SOOOO close to getting out of here. So. Close.
Rachus moves towards the exist and personally does want to draw attention to himself but does offer Dealuri help by playing music that speaks to the time of the king of kings.

Dealuri imparts her feelings as earnestly as a true believer can share. She has no instrument, and her voice can best be described as only needing one drink for it to be pleasing, but her ability to move gracefully is impressive. She punctuates her words with leaps and lunges that give the appearance of the dragon attacking and defending against many kobolds who were decisively beaten. She concludes with a deep bow and elaborate doffing of a hat that she does not possess.
Ooc: Looks like it. Apart from the Manticore's actual room. But we've come at the far side of that room from the other way. So we're pretty much done. I think.
Thanadol will also kind of examine the bone dagger trying to see if it has any magical properties or anything special about it. Arcana: 9 Investigation: 21
Skritch, with Sunhill supporting Elvyn, are 109% ready to take leave of this cavern. And its fierce dragon. And the whole cave system. And the wastelands b/w these caves and the township what hired us.
If. At all. Possible.
Skritch sends to Vakas, "Hey Vakas, I, er, once we're safe and rested I can talk to your lizard and get a bit of what's what from it. Er him. Er, her. I can let you know what's going on with them."
And to Thanadol, "And, great wizard, I imagine knowing about the knife will be wonderful and, er, helpful - but maybe we could do that too, when we're somewhere safe?"
And then he telepaths all hsi allies, comrades and their new friends, "But can we, right now, do you think... just. Freaking. Go?!"
“My name is Vakas..” he tells Elwyn, “we came to find you, this was our task - we were told the general direction you were taken. We are lucky to find you. All in due time, I know you have many questions. But quickly, can you tell me.. what were these kobolds doing? What were they asking you? I am curious what was happening here.”
Vakas takes the pouch of silver and quickly takes & hides away the dragon toothed dagger. (He doesn’t allow Thanadol to examine it here, he doesn’t know that he has it. Doesn’t feel that examining it in front of the dragon would be wise.). As the lizard appears and scampers up his shoulder, he says “Hi there, little guy, who are you? What is that necklace on your neck? How did you end up here?” More to be seen here, for sure.
Vakas moves to help Elwyn to walk, in a low voice as they are heading toward the exit of the room, he does a quick look about for any other exits from the room. “Anything else in here Elwyn, did you hear them talk about anything else in this system of caves? Should we just get you out of here and back home?” He escorts him toward the door unless he sees some other exit from the room or hears anything else from Elwyn. He keeps a wary eye on the dragon as Dealuri is distracting it with praise.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
OOC: You have explored the whole of the goblins "map" yes and saved Elvyn from the kobolds, though not the dragon or the dungeon yet :)
Dealuri (with a 16) the dragon settles its head to the ground as it listens to your words of praise. Wounded, fatigued and its stomach full of fresh kobold meat its eyes slowly close and it drifts off to sleep, dreaming of its brilliance. At your bow it opens one sleepy eye and gives a contented snort.
"You may leave." it mumbles dreamily before its heavy breath gives way to a low sonorous snore.
Thandol you briefly see the dagger in the hands of Vakas but do not have chance yet to examine it.
Vakas you lead the party out of the slavers room and through the cavern where Grimfang was chained. Elvyn listens to your questions and is silent for a moment before answering;
"The kobolds spoke of a demon. They serve it I think and there were many prisoners many of us..." he closes his eyes for a moment and a pained look is cast like a shadow over his face, his skin grey and plaid, whether from the wounds or the memories he carries you can not tell.
"In that room they broke our spirits... they... I can not speak of it. Not yet." he takes a deep breath, "Once broken they would be taken to the demon. Khokras Tharn they called the place, south of here I think."
Suddenly he grasps your arm, "We must stop them. To have summoned a Demon here to Nyrgard, it is a terrible thing. I need to get to the temple of Víðarr."
You all make your way across the river easy enough, having managed the feat once before. Getting Elvyn across takes some time but the task is managed and you start to retrace your steps back through the dungeon.
Vakas you question Elvyn about the dungeon and he shakes his head, "Nothing that I know of... we should just leave I think."
All is going well until you pass the corridor leading to the room with the magical orb... Everyone make a DEX save.
Dealuri relays the dragon’s words and hurries away. Just as she is getting comfortable with the idea of escaping, she stumbles near the orb (Dex save 3+5=8)
Going to have to be careful moving onward Thanadol says worriedly after the effect, I gave an order to remove further traps and place them behind us. So be careful. He will then ritual cast Detect Magic to detect further traps
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Thanadol you cringe as you remember the last order you gave to the orb, "fill the space you already passed with traps."
Everyone who did not make the DC of 8 take 3 piercing damage as darts materialise from the surrounding walls and fly toward you. (Roll when you are able Rachus) Both Ember and Elvyn cry out in pain as they are struck by the magical darts.
Vakas with the support of Thanadol using detect magic should are able to lead the party safely through the dungeon. Make three sleight of hand rolls with advantage to see if any of the traps catch you all out. (OOC: But fist, I think Skritch might need some urgent attention?)
