Dealuri looks at the ceiling, which is apparently not falling any more, to say, “And stay there!” She takes her several tries and several moans from injuries to get her long hair flopped correctly but at last she does so and starts to focus on next steps. Anything worth taking from the dead guys? (Investigation 18 - hah, it was a Nat 20 but her INT modifier is -2!) Also, any clues who the big boss is? She looks at the locals. Also, I’m in a world of hurt and so are others. Is there a safe place around here to rest and recuperate?
Vakas you swiftly bind the kobold and only then does it wake, snarling with surprise and anger as it realises its predicament.
Skritch you search the area with the aid of your faithful steed with little luck. You are about to give up when (with a 21) Sunhill barks loudly and begins to paw at a small leather sack at the waste of one of the dead koblds. You take is and find within a bundle of wrapped sausages, cooked to a crisp. Sunhill sits, his mouth lolling open and his eyes fixed on the tasty treat.
OOC: Note to self, buy Skritch some new dice!
Dealuri (with an 18) you search the nearby bodies and find little of interest. However, close to the destroyed sigil you do spy a small locked chest.
The blue wizards are studying the destroyed ritual markings and inspecting the body of the Kobold leader. Kineth shakes her head when you ask after the creatures identity. When you ask for a place to rest Vander gestures toward the exit,
"Your female goblin friend awaits you at our dwelling. It should be safe enough to rest there."
"We should go check on Ember soon." Rachus says as he gingerly clambers to his feet.
Dealuri grabs the chest. She figures someone can investigate it once they are feeling better. "Sounds good, let's get back to your place. You wouldn't happen to have any chicken noodle soup, would you?"
If the company all head back to the house for a long rest (which sounds much needed, based on Dealuri's post) then a rest will help us get back spells, wildshapes, etc.
On the way, Skritchwill lead forward to feed Sunhill a continuous supply of bacon strips as they trot along.
After tying up the kobold and wagging his index finger at him in his face, Vakas stands back up straight and walks over to the kobold leader, the one who was running the ceremony. He removes any arrows that he can, (picking up his short bow along the way) and he starts to turn the kobold from side to side, checking its pockets for any change or useful items. He looks around the body for any diary, spellbook or other useful information that has been discarded.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Vakas (with an 18) you do indeed find a spell book, at least you presume that it what it is. You also find a small pouch of gems and a ceremonial dagger that shimmers with an interesting sheen of violet in the low light of the temple.
"What shall we do with your prisoner?" Vander asks, looking down at the kobold with discuss and seeing you all about to leave.
Skritchmessages back to Vander, "Make sure he doesn't plan to do any of this again. Then I, er, suggest, leave him to his own devices. Leastways that's what I'd do. Byee."
Vakas shows the spell book to Thannadol, thinking he might have interest in it. He tosses the dagger in his pack to examine later and carefully puts the gems in a pouch. “Let’s march it along with us. Perhaps it knows more about what is happening here. We could question it.. so, where are we headed?”

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
You all head back to the wizards dwelling pulling the snarling kobold along by the rope, you are ready for a much deserved rest. You have some time before sleep to examine items interrogate your prisoner etc.
For better or worse, Dealuri decides to talk to the kobold. “Now listen here you overgrown lizard,” is her opening line and it goes downhill from there. Her thought, to the extent that she has them, is to Intimidate the kobold into providing some useful information or at least to leave the party and the town alone (nat 20). She hope someone else can look at the chest she picked up and the other loot.
Vakas sits beside Dealuri, a half grin on his face as he listens to her attempt to convince this kobold to be good. He rummages through his pack, pulling out the dagger, showing Thanadol and the other wizards the dagger. “Can anyone identify this? I already have a nice dagger, anyone want it?” He turns and watches the effects of Dealuri’s scolding.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Skritch watches for a minute, chewing some acorn cud. He sighs, scurries over and pats the kobold on the shoulder. Telepathically he says to it, "It'll be best if you give them what they're after..."
Then, figuring that someone will wake him if things develop into a... well, a thing , he curls up and takes a nap. They'll no doubt have a big day ahead of them and he is definitely short of magical ability at the moment...
Dealuri (With a Nat 20) the kobold is terrified. What is more you could swear it is smaller than it once was by at least a hands span. It babbles in its own language as it strains against it bonds.
Vakas you hand the dagger to Kineth and she glances it over as you all attempt to interrogate your prisoner. "No magic," she shrugs after a moment and hands it back, "but looks expensive."
Thanadol (with a 19) the kobold screeches in terror and flinches back from your magic. You are surprised to see it visibly shrink before your eyes. It is now only a little larger than your average kobold.
Skritch seeing the Kobold in terror you offer your comforting words before retiring for a nap. It jumps at your touch and shrinks once more to a very ordinary kobold size. The ropes that once held it are now loose and falling away. Eyes wide with terror it screams out in kobold and makes a dash for the door.
Everyone make a Dex check if you wish to catch it.
“No one used cutting words on it, did they?” (Ooc- sorry for the dad joke.) “I didn’t understand a word it squeaked, did you?” She just lets it run away, figuring it would be troublesome to catch and keep a shrinking captive. Who can look at my chest?
(OOC: DM, admit I'm not clear, atm. This temple, the one that we've just fought in, was a side quest, right? Or was it the place we were supposed to get to? I had thought there was a village we have to drop off our rescued goblin at and then go on from there. But I may have misunderstood...)
OOC: yes this a side quest/wilderness encounter. You are on your way to the goblin village to ask them to aid the temple in their preparations to fend of the kobold army which is gathering. (this is where Rachus and Ember will leave you) And from there you are going to Kokras Tharn to stop the Kobold raising a demon that would spell disaster for the free peoples of... Nyrgard.
You are currently in the dwelling of the blue wizards on the outskirts of this nameless town taking a rest.
Play on my friends and for goodness sake someone take a look at Dealuris chest :)
Thannadol would like to cooperate with the blue wizards to see if they can learn from one another. And if they perhaps have spells they are willing to share.
OOC: We found that spellbook. What spells does it contain, he would have accepted that from Vakas though I can't remember mentioning

Skritch curls up with his back against Sunhill's warm belly. The to-and-fro of mortals on this plane, it's a wonder and a mystery.
He'll wait to see what, if ought, Vakas and Rachus can get from the captive....
