"I have an innate antipathy for cultists, but CURTAIN CALL seems like easy money. And it's in the forest, if I read correctly. Our wild friend here will be in his element."
Poe looks around, a thoughtful expression on his face.
"Now, for the owlbear in the room: too many adventurers for this job. Specifically, two wizards."
Poe's gaze drifts to the newcomer, taking in the gleaming armor, the sturdy shield, and the impressive build beneath.
Poe turns to the other wizard. "Rock, paper, or scissors?"
Poe doesn't wait for a reply, quickly flashing a "scissors" hand. Then, he looks up and waits for Raku's choice.
Bethany has not commented on the double wizard issue out of politeness.
She looks over the board... "I'll go with the first group that'll have me, except for Curtain Call, that's a hard pass."

I'm sure we'll have you. You look strong for sure! We could use some muscle! (Playfully flexes her arm as a gesture) If we don't do Curtain Call, I'm good with that. I am a performer myself, not a Theater Critic after all.
As for this apparent duel of wizards here, (Uses prestidigitation and conjures a small double-sided coin) We could flip this? If so, who's heads and tails?
(The coin lands… except on its side, so neither win) well… I guess it’s back to talking about it…
Ok, never mind this post now that we have an actual result.
Ok. Poe… and I have yet to learn the names of you other two, I suppose that our goal now is to save some hostages? If everyone is in agreement, then I say let’s do it! I’m Zik by the way!
HOSTAGE SITUATION (Quest, Rank 1) Pierce Industries is one of the largest employers in the region, so the area has been abuzz with news that Yennifer Pierce has been taken hostage. The assumed heir to her father's position as head of the company, Yennifer went missing last week. You've been invited to meet with Vandell Pierce himself, at his luxurious villa home. Participants: Bethany, Poe, Zik, Tornir
Name: Veyra “Hexlace” Thorne Species: Half-Elf (Revised 2024) Class: Cleric 1 (Arcana Domain) Motto: “Every mystery is a map—I just read it better than most.”
The double doors creak open, not from force, but from intention.
A woman steps through with boots that click in a rhythm—confident, careful, composed. Dark hair curls just past her shoulders, a few strands pinned back with silver wire shaped like arcane runes. Her armor is well-kept but bears ink stains on the cuffs, and a heavy-bound tome swings at her hip like a trusted blade.
She pauses, sensing the hush of the guildhall. Then, a smile—not warm exactly, but amused—curves across her face.
“Quiet for a place so full of potential chaos,” she murmurs.
She steps further in, eyes scanning the room. Noticing a bulletin board, a few scattered tables, and maybe—hopefully—a handful of adventurers nursing drinks or comparing scars.
“Right. Now then…”
She raises her voice just enough to carry without shouting, her tone dry but inviting:
“Name’s Veyra Thorne. Arcana-trained, divinely inspired, and recently unemployed thanks to a sacked ruin and a melted abjuration circle. I heal, I shield, I know how to pronounce ‘Ysgard’ correctly, and I’ve only blown myself up once this month. Anyone here still looking for a fourth?”
She unclasps her spellbook, letting it fall open in her hands with a flutter of parchment.
“I’m not picky about the mission. Undead, artifacts, nobles behaving badly… I work fast and prefer not to die. But I’ll consider it if the company’s good.”
She looks around again, raising one brow in a silent question.
“Well? Who needs a miracle—or at least a backup caster who actually reads the fine print?”
I apologize, I should have changed the thread tag and edited the intro post; I unfortunately had to end the game, due to real life considerations. I'm very sorry! Your character seems fun, and I hope that you find a game for Veyra.

Poe slowly lowers his still-outstretched hand, the "scissors" fading into a loose fist.
He shakes out his tired arm with a faint wince.
He glances toward Raku, then at the others.
Turning to Zik, he eyes the conjured coin with a tired smirk.
“Tails.”
Want to team up on either Hostage Situation or Light the Way?
Poe: "It seems that the coin's stuck mid-air." He shrugs. "If the other two agree, let's just go free those hostages."

Poe makes a more or less subtle gesture of exultation.
He clears his throat awkwardly.
"Shall we go?"
