Willie squeals girlishy. "Ew ew ew!" She gets up on her toes and tries to climb on top of rubble to avoid the things. When Ywrin crushes the bugs with his staff, she cries in encouragement. "Get them Yrwin!"
She then waves her hand in disgust, trying to put the nasty creatures to Sleep
Amazingly, Yrwin manages to crush so many bugs that their numbers thin. Archy manages to kill a handful of these suckers too.
Finally, Willie sleeps the rest of them! All the bugs slowly stop their attack. They will be asleep for one minute, so it will be easy enough for you all to step/crush/light aflame/e.blast the rest of them in that amount of time. Battle over!
A rudimentary glance informs you that these beetles are, well, huge. They are about 5 inches long and 2 inches tall. Needless to say that your shoes, if you step on any of them, are covered in bug goo along with your equipment! These beetles also have large incisors... no wonder they nearly killed a couple of you in their first move.

He turns one of his pockets inside out and palms the bisquit-crumbs bound to be there, pinching them between his fingers and sprinkles them onto his tongue. "I don't like the dark... Should I.. Should I light things up a bit? I think I have just the trick."

You press ahead moving along the northwestern wall. There is a pathway that leads out of the Dorasharn Tower to the west. You aren't quite sure where it leads to, but it might be nice to know there are other ways in and out of the Dorasharn Tower when it's time to leave.
Further ahead, you see a ruined structure. Its outer walls suggest it was once a temple. Peeking inside, there is nothing inside but rubble. It could be an alright place to take a long rest, you imagine.
