Eldreth was still asleep but would wake up if the party was ready to move easily enough. Immotichey manages to find that the lake water is very fresh and drinkable, as for food.. well he finds a 5 day supply of food, which will feed 5 members of the party, once (currently there are 7 total characters to feed, and i recall chubby keeping stock of your rations)
The Deurgar had apparently been so scared of the death he was sure was about to befall him, that his lie had come out as well as a childs lie to a parent... obvious, and easy to read. He sighed. Arthasis managed to sweet talk the Deurgar to well hhe calmed down, and spilled the beans. You may call me Hemeth. I'm an weapons trader, I was uh... selling weapons to both sides of that conflict... it was great for business... I was making a killing.. well, atleast until they found out..... and thats how you met me, honest truth. I just didn't wanna tell you cause you might get mad at me for having armed them all so well... Unfortunately they took all my stock once it was discovered I was playing both sides for profit. A-Anyways.. we're about here.... He says, putting his finger on the map, just above Sloobloodop, which is the only city on the far-eastern side of the Darklake. I know my way round here... His finger tracing along the edge of the darklake, and a little bit further out. But I suggest we go to my hometown of Gracklstuhg... which means a long trek from here.. if we go round the edge by land.... we can also make a pit-stop here... at Mantol-Dereth... it's probably the only neutral place in the entire underdark.... Or.. if you have boats, or someone with the skill to craft them out of a Zurkwood mushroom.. we can cur straight across the lake. His finger tracing their current position, to Gracklstuhg.
(I will give you all until I get back from work today which is 10.5 hours from the time of this post) to decide where you're heading and how you're heading there, and I will take whatever route has the most votes by that time)
Chubby: "I make ale. That's my bad ass skill. I know naught how to make a boat. And besides, we dwarves tend to stay away from water....unless it's of the ale variety!" he lets out a long guttural laugh. Continuing, "I vote we make way for this Mantol-Dereth place....do you think we can get out of the underdark and back to the surface there?"
Eldreth finally wakes up and after a quick morning stretch to suggest did everyone get moving. You've already eaten today so you don't need to use me rations today. And she lets Hemeth lead the way along the dark Lakeshore. He's keeping everyone at a slow pace for now while he talks.
" well as I've already said, the place is a neutral ground in the underdark. Which also makes it the largest trading Hub in the underdark. We have many dealings with surface dwellers. So I'm sure you can find a way up and out if that's truly your desire. I can't guarantee how you will but if you're lucky there will be a surface traitor in the area. If you're not you may have to wait there a little while."
After removing the curse from Chubby's armor, Evrik fills his waterskin from the lake. He then walks toward Crispy who is wandering aimlessly and helps her and Immotichey move closer toward the duergar and the others. "I'm not too fond of the boat idea," Evrik admits, "but I'm willing should the need arise. Let's not forget though, that demon prince that killed our companion walked right up out that that lake there. Not too fond of that possibility either!"
"I can't see anything!" Immo replies. "What direction are we moving? We may need those with vision to lead us further away from this place before we risk a light. I have rope we can all tie off if it would help."

"Mantol-Dereth sounds promising.", Arthasis said to the group. "To be honest, anything that provides us a place to rest in realtive peace would be a major step forward. We need to plan our next steps, after all we just came across a demon lord." The warlock still couldn't really grasp what happened in the Kuo-Toa city and what it meant for his journey. Was this the reason his patron sent him here? Was his master even aware of what was going on down here? These questions had to be answered but he had no clue where to look for them. "How long would it take us to get there on foot?", he asked the Duergar.

Hemeth considered as they all walked at a leisurely pace, counting on his fingers. Welllllll.. considerin' were taking the uh long way round on the edge, It should take us roughly twenty days at our current pace, and perhaps a wee bit less if we did it briskly, but we apparently have two blinders here.. which means even with us leading them they'll trip constantly if we go too fast.. so at best a twenty to twenty-five. We may as well do this leisurely. There'll also be a branch off cave, which should be here soon.. as this 'walkway' doesn't continue for much longer, unless you prefer swimming o'course!
You all continue for a while, walking along the ever-shrinking waters edge, and just a few hundred feet before it ends, the entrance to a large marked cave entrance.
DM Rolls: 3 - 18
The cave mouth itself is massive but it swiftly thins to a hole that a dwarf can just barely get through without trouble, forcing you all into single-file. Over the next four hours, the tunnel winds, and wends this way and that, but your guide seems to know his way, as he is confident in the path.
DM Rolls: 3 - 4
Eventually it opens a bit, still forcing you all single file, but you no longer have to crawl on all fours to move, and even the tallest of you can stand relatively comfortably. For now, the tunnels seem bland, and empty, nothing of note overall aside from dust and darkness. You continue through this for another four hours.
DM Rolls: 5 - 11
The path gets even wider as you continue on, opening into another yawning cavern (111) and opens up to a deep deep ravine on the right side. Hemeth tells you Just so you're aware, the darklake is on the other side of this wall... so that means there's solid ground down there..... should ye fall pointing out the fact that it turns into yet another deep pitfall situation across a thin, 18-inch wide ledge, overlooking another pit of darkness liek the one that had befallen Cade, Eldreth, and Crispy before. 3.
(Myc Scot) Note.
How do you wish to proceed? With or without rope/pitons? regardless, one-time DC check 10 Acrobatics to not fall. WIth advantage if you have rope/pitons.
"OhHoO no." Crispy says defiantly, "We're using ropes and shit THIS time. I'm not diving to save anyone THIS time, no sir ree. So everyone lasso up and take your time."
"Yep, ropes!" Evrik agrees. He ties himself to one of the ropes and makes a quick sign to Vergadain seeking Guidance. (Acrobatics: 11) "Hey Chubby, let me grab some of those pitons," he says then he drives one into the wall and steps out onto the ledge, driving the next as he moves down the wall.
Jesus, that was close, Evrik, two 11s. thank goodness for advantage.
Ok, here we go.
Crispy wrapped the ropes around her waist. It was so much easier moving around now that her shoulder was healed, but the darkness didn't help too much. While working, she asked, "Hey, can anyone make magic light or something?" Crispy didn't have anyone to pray to, so she picked Hell because she was convinced between her dead father's haunting, and her life of complete hardship before that Hell had an interest in her, so she indulged in the thought, looked down, and whispered. "Hells, don't let me fall again. Thanks."
Acrobatics: 24
"Thank Asmodeus." she whispers, puffing in relief.

OOC: Probably too late, but maybe along with using a rope and pitons, we should have used a second rope to tie all of us together, so if one were to fall, the others could simply pull that person back up?
Chubby's acrobatics check: 17
As he starts to slip, he uses his raw brute strength to grab the rock face to steady himself (Athletics check: 8).
Crispy gave Chubby a withering look and rested her head against the rock, swearing.
"****!"
She was getting very sick of this place, sick of potentially losing friends, sick of rock ledges, sick of the darkness, sick of fish people, and definitely sick of the lack of sex and alcohol.
"Be CAREFUL!" She yelled at Chubby. "Can someone make a ******* light?!"
She took a moment to calm down and breathe. Maybe two moments. She kept moving, very slowly.
Evrik grabs the rope and hugs as tight as he can to the rock face. Then he unsheathes his Moon-Touched Sword, Shortsword which sheds a little light on the situation. "Here you are Crispy." He then continues moving down the ledge.
Immotichey, now able to see better follows closely behind Evrik. "Quite a bit better, thanks."
OOC: Sorry about that, I meant to do that when we entered the cave and then forgot :-)

'Here we go again', Arthasis thought to himself as the group came across another chasm they had to traverse. "Watch your step this time around. You won't be as lucky again.", he said mockingly before binding himself to his companions. Acrobatics with Guidance : 18 As they cautiously moved onwards he tried to continously get his feet on solid ground. He wasn't keen on falling of the edge. But as he went on one question kept comiong back to him over and over. "I hate to ask now... given our current situation. But just how did you manage to survive the fall the last time?"
Chubby to Eldrith and Duergar: “So, where are we, currently, on that map of yours?”
Last to know and first to be blamed...
As a free action, can I regret my life choices?

Crispy smiled and rolled her eyes as Chubby spoke. Dwarves hated water, and Chubby was no exception.
But she liked the plan.
"What do you know about Mantol-Dereth?" She asked, staring into the darkness, cleaning her blades.
