Demogorgon crashes through the harbor itself, pushing through buildings like lava through butter, wherever he walks, corruption seems to radiate. His tentacles lashing out, feasting on some of the kou-toa, and devouring Cade as well, all without chewing.. beings simply disappeared in pained, agonizing screams as their souls were torn from their bodies. Mostly Demogorgon began thrashing wildly about, destroying more and more, he seemed to be in a battle lust... Suddenly, his vision was clouded, and he stopped for a moment, confused... the whistling noises from above growing louder....
Demogorgon cast Dispel Magic .... to no effect. The fog lingers as it was as real as any other fog.. Causing him to charge forward, crushing through the shrine of the deep father, and his worshipers, sending blood, stone, and gore flying.
The group makes it's way near the edge of the town after a small southward detour to further avoid the Demon Prince. As you come near the cities wall, you see a massive net-like structure, filled with thousands of barbed hooks. There are also several unattended gates, as most if not all of the kou-toa have fled, or gone mad.
the whistling noises from above become a reality, as many rocks of varying sizes come crashing into the ground all around the party and the entire city. You must pass a DC 8 Acrobatics/Althetics check to dodge/avoid the rocks, but only once. A failure results in needing to roll a 1d4 to determine the size of the rock. 1= small 2 = lower medium, 3 = medium 4 = Large.
Then, if you get a 1, you roll a 2d6 bludgeoning damage. A 2, results in 2d10 Bludgeoning damage, A 3 results in 5d12 bludgeoning damage, and a 4 results in 10d20 Bludgeoning damage. If your health goes into the negatives equal to your max HP, you have died, with no way of coming back. (EG. you have 40 HP, and take 80+ damage)
If you survive, you have made it to the city's edge proper.
Breaking Through
You can attempt to get away any of these methods:
Leap/climb through the barbed fence: Any creature wishing to crawl through the netting can do so with a successful DC 15 Dexterity (Acrobatics) check. On a failure, the creature takes 1d8 piercing damage and becomes restrained in the netting, requiring a successful DC 12 Strength check as an action to break free.
Cut through: This net is strong, and reinforced, cutting through will require either 3 successful Althetics DC checks of 15 total. Or, attacks dealing a total of 30 damage (Ac 15) Fire deals bonus damage to the net, equal to double damage dealt, but will set the entire net ablaze, and attract Demogorgon.
Lockpick: The gates are rusty, but moderately maintained, leaving the locks to be harder than they should be. A DC 17 lockpick attempt will open the gate, followed by a DC 5 Athletics Check to open the gate.
If all else fails: The docks on this side have been untampered with, you can run to the docks, and grab a boat of your choice, this will however cost you time, as you are well over 200 feet away from the docks. The boats are unattended, giving you the pick of the litter. Whoever gets to the docks first, roll 1d6. 1-2 = a small supply of rowboats only. 2-3 = a keelboat that can hold up to 6 people, with a rowboat attached to it's back by a rope. a 5-6 = a large keelboat with a lower deck for resting. This was likely used when transporting other races. It's bulk means it will have difficulty navigating the waters, but is far more resistant to the beings that lurk beneath the water. Only the first person to make it to the docks may roll for what boat(s) are here.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Evrik struggled against the ropes still quite mad. "I'll have you all!", he yells as he attempted to strike anything in his path with a head butt. (Unarmed Strike 5ft: 11 Damage: 4) Evrik's irrational motions luckily allow him to narrowly avoid the falling debris. (Acrobatics Check: 2)
Immotichey looks back at Evrik and shouts, "Calm down you loon!" Having about 10ft of rope leading the dwarf, Immotichey is out of reach of the ridiculous flailing but it still causes him to slow and to be a little less nimble. He is barely able to dodge a massive rock as it lands only inches from his feet. (Acrobatics Check: 4) As they come to the city wall, or net as the case may be, Immo turns towards the others, "If we try to go over, we'll have to leave Evrik. He's still touched in the head. And Chubby doesn't look much better. And getting two mad dwarves in a boat could do more harm that good." With that Immotichey focuses on his staff and using Shillelagh lashes out at the net. (Attack: 24 Damage: 11)
She saw the rocks a mile away. With an acrobatic leap that would make a circus performer jealous, Crispy leaps and rolls in front of Evrik and Immo. "Hey, how's it goin'?" she winks. "Let me help."
She then attacks the net, all the while trying to keep everyone wrangled together.
Main Attack: 24 Damage: 6 Offhand Attack: 18 Damage: 1 (forgot to add +3 to this, so it's 4) (Not sure if sneak counts for a net, but here it is for your discretion) 10
Relieved that he managed to successfully avoid the falling boulders, Chubby swings his sword at the same spot on the fence where the rest of the team was attempting to hack their way through:
Chubby was a little late to the game, as the net had already crumbled beneath the flurry of blows from the others, his sword swung on empty space, and slammed down into the ground, making a loud THWANG and leaving a small chunk of rock dislodged from the ground.
"First there's the Demogorgon, then the rocks, now gaseous fumes, this place is deadly." Immotichey says as he moves quickly through the whole in the net pulling Evrik through behind him.
The mad dwarf continues to struggle and shout aggressively at what he believes to be his captors but everyone stays outside of his strike radius in case the loon attempts other kicks, scratches, bites, or head butts.

The group managed to get some distance between them and the demon lord and it seemed like Chubby and Crispy came back to their senses, but they weren’t out of danger yet. Soon it started to rain rocks from the sky. Acrobatics with Guidance : 8 Arthasis with dexterous movements accompliashed to doge all of them, running towards the breach the others created with their weapons. "Well done! Keep Moving!", he shouted more to himself than to the others.
You all swiftly run through the hole, and slowly, as time goes on, Demogorgons cries of fury and madness fade. Your hearts begin to slow, and it wasn't until now you realized that they had been thumping hard in your chest. Evrik inevitably comes back to his senses after a while, and no longer needs to be bound. Sweat drips from your foreheads as you all collapse, legs strung out from running, and barely surviving what would have been a almost assuredly guaranteed death for all of you.
You find yourself on the edge of the Darklake, a massive lake, spanning a hundred miles from its farthest two points on a very wide path, that seems to be gradually thinning. This is the opposite side that Crispy, Cade, and Eldreth had been on. While you were unable to pick up any food supplies in the city, the foraging that has been done allows for the group to not immediately be in danger, and you've already eaten today. Eldreth had been sneaking around when no one was looking while everyone else slept, and she had managed to find a map of most of the underdark within the region, which coincided with the information that Crispy and Chubby had gleaned, only now it was visible.. to those who could see.. as the darklake was pitch black, and anyone without magical sight, or dark vision was utterly blind, and would need to be led. (everything is at disadvantage except certain saving throws, like vs poison)
Eldreth would say Oh shite.... Ohshite.. there's a Demon Lord.. and the PRINCE of them all tae boot....We have to inform the civilized races.... We have tae get somewhere where we can get an army and fight that beast, to banish 'im back to the hells that spawned him! I managed tae grab this map the night afore... and between this and our new guide ... we might just be able to afore tis too late... We should take a very short break, to rest our limbs, and catch our breath.... but we shouldnae linger overlong.. he spreads madness farther with each passin day, corrupting the world just by existing...
The Derugar nodded, saying She has the right of it, if the legends are true about his domain... But aye, I can get us around.. I was an... uh.... relatively honest Merchant between my people and the Kou-Toa (Decepton roll: 0)
As the party rests, to recuperate enough to continue their trek, they realize they are stronger than before, almost as if they had gained a level.
You now have a map and limited guide to the underdark. It shows most of the region. The guide only knows so much of the area listed on the map, and will likely get you lost outside of that range.
Also keep in mind, that just because a tunnel initially leads north or south, doesn't mean it will stay that way. Once you are out of the guides purvue (or he dies), you will have to rely on the map, and guesswork to reach your destinations.
(The map of the underdark will be posted in the Disco server)
After sleeping, Chubby wakes and can be found on the shore of the lake, silently swinging his sword around in great circles whilst silently practicing maneuvers here and there. He's feeling quicker, with a renewed sense of vigor. Almost losing his loved ones can do that to a man.
As Evrik's mind settles exhaustion overtakes him. He falls to the ground almost where he stood. Just before he is consumed by sleep, he looks around, sees Immotichey and the rest of the group. "Thank you. I apologize for my behavior. I don't know wha...zzz" rest engulfs him. The sleep is deep and dreamless. After waking, his head much clearer, he feels a new energy and closeness to Berronar Truesilver. A short prayer and kiss of his amulet awaken new knowledge. He thinks of Chubby and runs over to the lakeside to talk to the dwarf.
"Chubby, good dwarf, I believe that I can allow you to remove that armor if you so desire. I cannot uncurse the item, only allow you to remove it. It will require me to take some time to study and pray so I will need an answer before we break camp."
Evrik can learn Remove Curse now. So if it will benefit Chubby, Evrik learns that. It only allows Chubby to remove the armor. It does NOT uncurse the armor itself. However, I'm not sure Chubby has any other armor so wasn't sure if the cursed armor is better than nothing so if Chubby is going to keep the armor on, Evrik will learn Blindness/Deafness.
So... post based on Chubby's response:
IF Chubby wants armor removed:
Evrik finds a quiet spot by the lake and enters into deep prayer with the Revered Mother. Asking for her to guide his hand to give him the ability to help his brother dwarf and provide him protection from harm. After his communion, Evrik approaches Chubby, recites the prayer given him by his benefactor and touches the armor that the dwarf is wearing. It feels worm for a moment and then Evrik removes his hand and bows. "You are now free of this retched Drow equipment my friend. May you stay clear of harm."
IF Chubby wants to keep armor on:
Evrik finds a quiet spot by the lake and enters into deep prayer, but with who it is uncertain, and after some quiet words and a short ritual learns of other methods which may assist them on their journey.
At least they were out of that crazy fish village. Everyone was more or less ok. She shot the duergar a glance of annoyance after his comment, not buying it. But it didn't matter. She slept as best she could and woke up somewhat refreshed.
The were back the lake. Except this time they were down a man. She looked at the others, thankful they were ok, and asked, “Where to?”
DM / Saute - I leveled up Immo, but took standard HP. I believe Saute has been rolling for his HP so when he comes back I would hope it would be ok for him to roll and update his HP. Also, I did NOT do anything else other than move Immo up from 4 to 5 (3HP were added). He now has a spell slot open and through our rest the time to revise spells so again, when Saute is back assume he can go back and take advantage of the level up / rest time.
Finally free of babysitting Evrik in his lunatic fringe, Immotichey coils up his rope and stashes it away. He then finds as quiet of a spot as he can to commune with nature. As he becomes one with the spirit of life he feels his energies replenish and his mind become still. He rests.
Upon coming back into the world, Immotichey looks around the immediate area to see if he can find anything safe to eat or drink. (Survival: 23)

This had been most definitely to close for comfort for the warlock’s taste and the fact that it was the Prince of Demons made it all the worse. To think that he made a pact with a similar creature made him feel a sense of unease that would remain with him for the rest of his days. The exhaustion from their escape helped him to find to calm his mind and to find some sleep. For a much-needed change, there were good news when he woke again.
