Tisnip will wipe her mouth and give the man a kind smile, turning on her rustic charm. “Hello, sir. Thank you for all your help so far with myself and my friends. I’m Tisnip Steelfist, and while we’ve come here through mysterious circumstances we’d like to know if YOU need help with anything.”
Rajiira retook her seat, as Tyriok began asking questions. She waited a fair amount of time so as not to make thier host feel bombarded, before asking And where is it in Faerun? or.. Toril relatively... err or perhaps if those are not answerable.. what is the nearest, most famous city.. like... Waterdeep or something? Rajiira apologizes if she is being rude by askign so much, but as my friend said.. it's as if we had all been in a coma until recently.... and we suddenly found ourselves here.. that is the only explaination I can think of to explain why we do not already know.
Rajiira's tail was slowly but surely coming back to life, regaining that sinuous perpetual waving. Resting her head in her hand while she continued eating, the food was slightly more than mediocre by her standards but she was appreciative of anything she was given. Her eye wandering occasionally to Thrash as they waited to hear what their host had to say.
eventually, she would state softly to herself, that she needed to restock her arrows... as she had lost half her supply, and a ranger without their arrows was just a poor excuse for a battlemaster.
Thrash will be sure to only eat a little bit until everyone else is done eating. Once he is sure everyone is full he will eat every last remaining piece of food at the table... except for OTC's face oatmeal. He is a lizardfolk so he isn't too picky about food... but he has standards.
"Hmm. Let me guess, you all got a little lost in the fog, couldn't find your way to where you were headed? It is not a common occurrence but one I have heard before." He gestures around the room, "This is the village of Barovia, capital of the land of Barovia, which is where you all find yourselves now. Chances are you have never heard of it before, but you are here now, and I'd advise that you don't attempt to leave this land. Trying to travel into the thick fog is not something I would recommend." He pauses for a moment letting that all sink in. "If you're looking for some answers to the questions i'm sure you have, may I make a suggestion? My name is Alek, I own this establishment with my brother and his wife. We are all Vistani, the Vistani people are travelers who do come and go from Barovia. There's a camp just a ways out of town, go there and ask for Madam Eva. She can provide you with more information then I."
Thrash listen to his words while occasionally attempting to sneak glances at Rajiira, but he is really bad at it... especially becaus he keeps getting a big goofy toothy grin on his face every time he does. Once Alek is finished speaking, he will speak up again. "So we are trapped here because of the fog.... and you think Madam Eva can tell us how to get rid of the fog?... Is her camp near the cleric you mentioned last night? Maybe we could visit them both today?
Thrash will then look over at Rajiira, this time looking at the shield he gave her and her dwindling arrows poking out of her quiver. "you don't happen to have like... an old table top.. or maybe a couple broken bar stools I can have do you?
"Father Donavich lives at the church just down the road," and he points out the direction to you. "I would suggest as well that you travel only during the day. Night time can be a dangerous time in Barovia. And yes, I have some scrap wood from a broken table in the back, I was going to use it as fire wood but you are welcome to it if you'd like."
Rajiira would suddenly pull out the ratskull dagger from her pouch, having sheathed it there until this point. Lifting it towards the Alek and asking Speaking of danger.... This was found in a 'dangerous place' do you know anything of it?
"So we're in...Barovia, Barovia." Tisnip will chuckle a bit to herself. When she hears Thrash asking about wood and glancing at Rajiira's rather sparse quiver she'll lean over to him and speak in a lower voice. "If you wish to make some more arrows so that our skilled ranger doesn't find herself at a disadvantage later I can help. I have a fine set of woodcarving tools and though I don't use them myself I've made hundreds of arrows over the years."
"Thanks Tisnip, I figure I will try to make a shield to replace the one I gave Rajiira and try to craft some arrows as well... although I am much better at making javelins and darts to be honest..." Leaning close to Tisnip, putting a hand on her shoulder. "I appreciate any help you can provide... and ... thanks again for your help back at that murder house before... I don't know what I would have done if you hadn't been there.."
Rajiira would look around for the source of The Voice and once she noticed it it's location would head towards it with the dagger still in hand. Kind of doing a motion that at least one of the people at the table should follow just in case.
Thrash would look from Tisnip back to Rajiira , watching her as she looked around the room before standing up. As she motioned for assistance Thrash would pat Tisnip on the shoulder and thank her again before standing up and taking up formation behind Rajiira. "ppssstt... what are we doing?" Thrash will try to make himself even larger and more intimidating than normal.. making sure to fully extend his frills running along the top of his head and down his back.
She would raise a finger to her lips letting him know that whatever it was it was hard to hear her ears twitching back and forth like a cat's does when it's looking for something or hears something.
Rajiira, you hear the mumbling continue near the back wall of the tavern. The rest if you don't hear anything at all. When Rajiira gets close to the wall and puts her ear close she can hear a little voice inside "Okay gotta get the food put the food over here gonna eat the food later need to find some more food make sure nobody finds my food make sure nobody eats my food make sure nobody eats me."
Tyriok watches Thrash and Rajiira closely and leans in to the rest of the group whispering, "They make such a lovely couple, don't they? Look at them! They're about to find a private room to totally suck lips!"
