Kosadius follows along and once at the ship he nods politely to the two individuals. " Thank you and let us hope for a great and fast trip to our destination." Stepping on the boat and goes to stand by the edge of the boats ships edge.
Grugg extends his arm out to Eili, n the traditional barbarian manner, to reach agreement on the covering of each other's back during the adventure ahead.
"Ah, traveling by boat, are we? How quaint. I assumed some sort of magical transportation would be in order, but ah... well, roughing it might be fun. More adventuresome that way, I suppose," rambles Alvyn as they approach the dock. "Let's go forth and find this Monger of Souls."
Kosadius looks around at the ones travelling with him to this quest. There is a grin as he watches two agree to watch each other's back. With that he moves towards them and stands a few paces away. " My apologies but if we are fated to travel and partake of this quest together, I too vow to protect you both and who ever is travelling with us. We should trust each other in this dangerous task, for out lives may be at stake as well as all the ones we are sent to save." He does not extend his hand but watches the reaction to his words as he waits for them to acknowledge him. At the same time he is looking to see how capable they could be in the middle of a battle.
Grugg, respecting the paladin's strength and profession, outstretches his arm in the same way he extended it to Eili. With a voice that commands equal respect given, Grugg replies,
"Yes. We fight together. Crush the Soulmonger. Become stronger."
The sincerity in Grugg's heart is apparent in his smile. The confidence in his words is felt in his firm grasp. And the hunger of a barbarian that hasn't eaten for almost a day is heard audibly from his belly.
"After this, we [all] get food and drink. Maybe Captain know more about Chult."
-edited to indicate that Grugg is referring to all party members.
Zandak looks to Grugg, smiles, then goes and finds a corner to hang out by himself. He will cast druidcraft and grow a rose in his hand and take a nice whiff of it, then he will nap until he is needed.
"Yes, yes, many backs will be had. I yours, yours mine, etcetera," Alvyn says in the general direction of the others. He has never been fond of marine travel, and is feeling preemptively a bit queasy.
He turns to the captain and, partly out of genuine curiosity but mostly to distract himself, begins asking a barrage of questions.
"So, how long is this voyage anyway? Who are the dominant cultural groups in Chult? What's the cuisine of the region like? I've read about the place, of course, but this will be my first visit."
"The voyage'll be quite a while(OOC DM has no idea I couldn't find the distance between Chult and Bladur's gate), Chult is predominantly humans, but has people of all races. They make a lot of stuff outta the tropical fruit that grows there, and are especially known for a drink known as Tej, a fermented drink made with honey. Anyway, let's be off!"
Everyone gets ready, pulling ropes and shouting orders. And more pulling ropes and shouting orders. There's a lot of rope pulling and order shouting in the ship business.
Everyone feels fine during the trip, except for the paladin, who spends a great deal of the trip retching.
"Won't be long 'till we're there! Hold in there, Mr. Vorades."
After a while, you think that you can see something in the distance, but you can't make it out through the fog. Is it land? As you draw closer, you think you might be able to see what it is through the fog, but it'll be hard.

"Ignorance is bliss, and you look absolutely miserable."
Grugg, though thoroughly disappointed in the Paladin's lack of intestinal fortitude and secretly hoping this is not an omen of misadventures to come, walks over to where Kosadius has removed his lunch from his stomach and offers a drink of water to remove the taste of bile from his wretching.
Then Grugg lets out a truly deep belly-laugh, and gives Kosadius a heavy-handed pat on the back, intended to convey sympathy entwined with camaraderie.
"HAH HAH HAH HAH HAH! Paladin, Grugg hope you fight better than you travel. Here water. Grugg have your back"
Grugg then sets his focus towards the distance where he attempts to make out something in the fog that catches his attention.
(OOC for DM - I'd like to try seeing what's through the fog as early as possible. Maybe a Perception check?)
Zandak puts his hand on the Paladin patting his back, “Don’t worry, we are getting close hopefully.” (OOC Could Zandak also do a perception check to see if he could see through this dog?)

"Grugg ready."
Grugg follows Kosadius to board the ship as he finds a place to watch the shore in anticipation of their departure.
Zandak looks up to the sky, and with a wide smile eyes closed feeling the breeze he says, “I’m ready.”
Eili leans against the railing of the ship next to Grugg. "I'm as ready as I'll ever be for a journey like this."
Grugg turns his head to Eili and after just a brief pause to give acknowledgment of the journey ahead, he says,
"Eili and Grugg fight together. Grugg protect Eili. Eili protect Grugg, too."
Grugg extends his arm out to Eili, n the traditional barbarian manner, to reach agreement on the covering of each other's back during the adventure ahead.
