(OOC: Rolled Arcana to see if Rhys understands how the Undead could randomly appear or any information on undead being sentient and need help. Arcana Roll: 16)
Rhys grabs his holy symbol about to call before realizing that the creatures are not hostile.
“It seems that we are in an unnatural situation.”
Looking around did anyone notice to bodies on the ground?
Only members of the party. Other people see them, but they can't smell them. they just pass them off as bundles of equipment.
You discover that the bodies are the remains of long dead people, but they are not zombies. they are simply held together by air elemental magic mixed with necromancy
She's about to stand when the stench hits. And then when the zombies appear she is on her feet in a flash. That they then collapse again is a bit of a surprise. With Rhys speaking up first, her eyes turn to him in a flash. "Unnatural? Really? That's certainly an understatement!" She takes a quick look at whatever body might have fallen nearest to her. She goes to it, hoping to uncover any clues. (Investigation: 24)
You discover that in the middle of the muck and rot is a symbol. It is a boomerang pendant. It has spell script on both sides. All the bodies have one. Although unable to read it exactly, you are able to tell (since you are a bard) that on the front is a conjuration spell and on the back is a necromancy spell.
If you'd like to try to piece together these pieces of info, go ahead. alternatively you can wait and see what else you can find.
A shiver runs down Beshlog's spine. But he swallows the lump in his throat to the best of his ability.
"Whatever they are now... they clearly need our help," the giant breathes. "Damn it..."
His mind goes back to that day when something reached out to him in the darkness and made him an offer he literally couldn't refuse. And... he has no intention of leaving others to a horrid fate at the hands of some unknown abomination.

Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
Looking between Zherzire and Rhys, the jovial dragonborn leans over to Aubrik, “Did I throw my voice or something? I don’t member him saying anything about…” The stench of the corpses wafts over the fire and his nose crinkles as he throws his hands in the air “I swear it wasn’t me!”
After their announcement he moves with the others to inspect the remains, “Umm, looks like they’re free already? Can’t really help you when you fall apart like that.” Bending over to check over what’s left he looks around for traces of footprints or signs of how they got here. (Perception = 22, Insight = 16) “What do you think they meant about being trapped by air? Like air doesn’t hold much back” He swings his hand around himself to show what he means.
Aubrik inclines his head to Zherzire, “If you wish for me to enter city, then so be it”.
He thinks on the prospect of the afterlife and huffs a little at Rhys, “I go to Nishrek and Gruumsh’s eternal war when die. Not much chance of getting bored there, no?”, he says to Rhys with a grin.
And then things take a weird turn…
He sniffs a little at the air as his nostrils are filled with the foul stench, and then as soon as he sees the zombie like creatures appear, he hauls his armour clad body to his feet.
“What is this?!?!?!”, he calls, completely confused as he scoops up his shield and trident.
He hears the creature's words but by the time he has readied himself for conflict, they have de-animated. Not that he stands down or relaxes. He stays on alert as the others speak and investigate, before interjecting.
“Surely we burn them, no? Let fire cleanse them”, he suggests, not really understanding what they are or where they came from.
(OOC: bread - are they still creatures even whilst de-animated? So if an ability effects a creature would it work on them?)
