“Assuming we divide each watch into 2 hour groups I will take the third watch.”
As the group discusses watch order Rhys will take out his cards, shuffle and draw one. As he looks over a card with the picture of a man holding an object over his head.
“Hmm … The Magician … the first of the arcana cards … this is a card related deeply to the elements. A card of a powerful beginning and hopefully bodes well for us moving forward. Being upright implies that we have all the tools we need and must turn strong intuition into action.”
Disappointed in not learning more about the amulets, Zherzire looks around at the others. "I suppose I will take the fourth watch? Guess that means I ought to get to sleep. See you folks in the morning!"
(OOC: Not sure if you are aware of the difference with the 2024 rules, @bread. You can take a Long Rest and stand watch for up to 2 hours. If interrupted but have been resting for more than an hour, you get the benefit of a Short Rest. Then each interruption only adds an additional hour to the Long Rest anyway, so it isn't like the time is wasted as long as you can get back to it. So Aubrik will start a Long Rest with his two hour watch, and then hope to sleep for 6 hours - possibly an hour or so more if interrupted)
Aubrik grunts in approval that the order of watches has been determined, but looks at Rhys with suspicion as he reads the card. He is well used to other forms of divination, through sticks and bones for example, but these cards of his seem a bit random to him. (Unlike sticks and bones of course :-) ).
(OOC: I don't remember if this was mentioned but when Rhys looked at the staff using detect magic was it magical? Also I do not see the amulet in my inventory.)
Holding onto the amulet Rhys will attune to the Thousand Wind Pendant during the long rest.
“Well guess that means I will take the last one, sounds good to me, I rather prefer my rest uninterrupted by tediously staring into a fire waiting for something exciting to happen but hoping it doesn’t.” The dragonborn watches the boiling water for a bit as the amulets are getting cleaned, “Odd that the flesh piles had this amulet and then Gale gives us another just before dying. Really hard to tell if they actually do anything other than get people killled”
Aubrik looks across to Yorcath and lets out a low, slow chuckle.
"Is good you watch after dawn, if you stare into fire", he says, clearly amused. "But yes. Agree that amulet not to be trusted. Maybe dead female change mind when questioned", he adds more seriously with a shrug.
“Yeah, yeah, you know what I meant, maybe next time we be sure to have two people on watch each shift, double the eyes and help keep each other awake. Also get more of a chance to get to know each other” Yorcath pats Aubrek on the back, “Gotta figure out the history of that helmet eventually right?”
