Ardwynn spit out a curse after seeing how poorly her attacks have been. Steeling herself, she carefully went through the motions and spoke the words to do another Eldritch Blast at Ghoul C.
Reg had tried to follow the staff after losing his grip on it, which opened himself up to death’s attack. The creature’s rake causing pain, but it only lasted a second. Its touch like the cold one feels from the other side of life. It pulled the warmth right from his body, blood draining from both his wound and his face. Now ashen white, the trap moves no more except for a shallow breath. Con Save: 8 (fail, paralyzed)
Barn's CON Save to avoid being paralyzed: 18 (success)
No sooner does Barn feel the healing energy from the hand Oengus lays on his shoulder and the bard's inspiring words than another slash from one of the foul beings' claws finds its way through the big man's chain mail with a spray of blood. Somehow, Barn remains upright and mobile (4/13 hp).
Roaring wordlessly in pain, the big man brings his polearm blade down overhand on whichever nearby (10' reach) surviving Ghoul (B, C or F) appears the most injured, then whips the haft around to smash the same Ghoul (or the next most injured surviving one nearby if the first blow fells its target).
Movement: (Whatever movement is required to attack the most injured surviving nearby Ghoul, B, C or F without incurring an opportunity attack.)
Action: Barn attacks the most injured surviving Ghoul that he can safely reach (likely B, C or F) with his halberd (10' reach): Halberd main attack to hit: 15 Halberd main attack damage: 10 (slashing)
Bonus Action: Barn attacks the most injured surviving Ghoul that he can safely reach (likely B, C or F) with the haft end of his halberd (10' reach): HalberdPolearm Master bonus attack to hit with haft: 17 HalberdPolearm Master bonus attack with haft, damage: 6 (bludgeoning)
The big man does his best to position himself defensively over Oengus' fallen, immobile paralyzed body.
Smiling Jacks shaft pierced the dead horrors face but it did not drop, Barn lopped the head from one of the things snapping at Oengus then injured the one trying to nibble on himself.
Caelans arrow dispatched the creature threatening Reg, Jacks throw went wide.
Both Reg and Oengus were trapped in bodies that would not function.....
Ardwyn reached out once more but this time there was no mistaking the power of the dweomer she summoned it was if a great gust of wind erupted out of nowhere and careened into the rotting corpse, hammering it with destructive force.......it staggered badly wounded but did not fall.
Badly wounded the thing next to Barn turned and loped for the woods, ( AoO) but the badly wounded creature beside Oengus was overwhelmed with hunger and could not resist attempting to devour the paralyzed bard.
Ghoul F vs Oengus Bite Attack: 8 Damage: 8 + 1 Necrotic
Ghoul F vs Oengus Bite Attack: 21 Damage: 7 + 6 Necrotic
The dead thing snapped at Oengus its first bite getting a mouthful of leather, its second tearing out a large chunk of his neck, fountaining crimson into the air, as blood gushed from the wound though his still paralysed form did not fall the light went out in Oengus' eyes.........
Smiling Jack realizes his idol is in deep trouble, Jack can tell this nasty creature is going after his idol, and lets loose his next arrow at the the creature.
Ardwynn's hands are enshrouded in crackling, arcane energies as she invokes Eldritch Blast -- trying to put down the Ghoul she staggered. (( Ghoul C ? ))

This last effort sent a shiver up Ardwynn's spine. It felt so.... weak... compared to the previous blast. She was so frustrated at these failures of these 'amazing Fae powers' she had been promised -- which had yet to BE amazing.
Barn's Attack of Opportunity, using his Reaction as the fleeing ghoul leaves his 10' reach: Halberd AoO to hit fleeing ghoul: 20 (dirty) Halberd AoO damage: 12 (slashing)
(And then Barn's turn, his Reaction resets and...) "No!" The big man chokes out as Oengus is torn apart in blood and gore. "He moved up to heal me! Or else I would be dead and he would be alive."
He steps within 5' and whips first the blade then haft of his halberd at the abomination that appears to be feeding on the fallen bard.
Movement: Approach to within 5' of final (non-fleeing) ghoul if they still survive. Action: Halberd to hit: 21, damage: 6 (slashing) Bonus Action: HalberdPolearm Master bonus attack to hit with haft: 19, damage with haft: 6 (bludgeoning)
Barn's slow-moving mind suddenly comes to the realization that if he had not used up all of the strange restorative power he seems to possess within him to cure the leper of his disease earlier, then he might have enough to heal Oengus by laying hands on him. His fingers flex in helpless frustration.
Reg remains motionless, the time slips past him like a breeze. The motion and sounds of battle known to him. Perhaps there are thoughts, thousands of them racing, moments from his past. Friends, the town folks, his family, his garden…or perhaps his mind is as still as he is. Whether he knows the one or the other, he can’t let anyone know for the moment…paralyzed.
Smiling Jacks arrow hits the feasting ghoul in the back, spinning it away from Oengus, Barn cleaved the fleeing creature in twain and then span around carving the one Jack had just struck down the centre.
Even as the dead wretch fell it was torn apart by a flurry of blades, kicks....and strange energies that bore scents reminiscent of ancient oak and primrose....
