A flight of stairs descends 10 ft. to what appears to be a storage room. In each of the opposing corners stands crates and barrels in a seemingly poor condition. A large table by the western wall features a few items on top and two crates underneath. On each of the 3 opposing walls can be seen 3 identical swords, 9 in total.
As you enter the chamber, a noise disturbs the peace in the room; a screeching sound of metal on metal. Berlyn, there are some lingering effects of your detect magic spell going off as this occurs. Some of the swords on the walls start to vibrate and detach from their mounts. Most of the swords only fly for a few seconds before falling to the floor inert. The others float in the air as if an invisible warrior were wielding them.
They swing and whirl as you sense their killing intent on you all!
Notes: You are all standing either in the hallway near the room or in the first 3 tiles into the room. Let me know by using my, poorly, drawn map below where you would like to be standing. The numbers are the enemies, who are both identical flying swords seemingly wielded by an invisible foe. (There are more letters than there members of your squad so that you have more options on where you'd like your starting position to be.) ________________________ I I I [1] I ------------------------------------------------ [E] [G] I [A] [B] [C] [D] [F] I ------------------------------------------------- I I [2] I ________________________

Before leaving the other room, Belyn will say to Jhess, "Good thinking on taking a piece of the construct. I am not sure about putting it in the same place of the schema, though. Can you hold on to it?"
As they head explore, Berlyn will stay in the middle of the crowd (C or E). After seeing the swords detach from the walls, and two begin to attack, she judges their distance to each other. If she can get them in a 20 foot cube, Berlyn will chant something like "Ivae shee," to cast faerie fire. The swords and any other objects will glow with a blue-violet light. (Creatures need to make DEX Save, DC13).
Then she will say to Jhess, "May your arrows fly true!" and will give last BI (d6) to her. (if 10 minutes have not gone by, Lily still has her d6).
Berlyn can't pinpoint any school in particular. It feels both magical and not at the same time.
The swords are within 15 ft or so of each other.

Before heading upstairs Emanuel slowly, with his body full of regret at this very action, picks up the two heads. "Does anyone have a bag? I think these will be the best evidence." His eyes are downcast, his words; forced.
"I can carry one of them in my pack," Jhess responds to both Berlyn and Eman, "but I don't think I can carry both."
When we get to the storage room, I imagine Jhess will be towards the front, since a good number of the group are still at least somewhat in shock. She's taking it on herself to lead exploring this last part of the lab, so I'll say she's at space [F]. When the swards animate and move in as if to attack, she'll realize the bow likely won't do her much good so she'll opt for her rapier. She steps sideways close to the long table (to allow others easier access into the room) and adopts a defensive stance, ready to parry Sword[2] when it comes near.
Action: Dodge Action
Movement: Positioning out of the doorway but remaining between Sword[2] and the rest of the party.
Eman would say; "These symbols are of importance and should be brought with us." After getting the heads in the bag; Emanuel would be the last to arrive (A) and is unsure what is going on.
Lily would be near Eman, trying to console him anyway she can think. I imagine that would put her in position 'B'.
Lily walks just ahead of Eman, wondering what she could do to possibly bring him out of his dark thoughts as they enter the next room. From ahead she hears Jhess and Berlyn shouting and what appears to be drawing of weapons. Initially her bravado from the fight with the 'warforged' causes her to begin moving into the next room, but then the nagging fear of the fight in the alleyway gives her slight pause. She takes her 'cane' and twirls it around her body as a beautiful layer of frost begins to suddenly appear all over her. She smiles at Eman as the temperature around them drops several degrees for a moment.

Feeling the sudden need to build warmth, plus realizing that a fight is happening; Emanuel rushes into the chamber, only to step back in surprise of their opponents. After a moments pause, he rushes to the nearest foe, as he tries to figure out how to fight a weapon. In the end he decides to just hit it really hard.
(Hmm, I hope you won't mind if things progress a bit just so things are fun & fresh. I promise you didn't miss much in this area!)
A few of you engage the weapons, but it seems to be of no use! Altogether, having enough of this place and with schema on your person, you all run from the swinging swords that threaten to cut you down. By the time you run out the entrance, it seems that the swords have stopped following you, only going so far as the door frame before seemingly floating away presumably to assume their post in that storage room.
"Well, that was a pickle,"Bloody Spear notes watching the strange swords float away. "Say, those weird not-warforged we saw earlier... Do you think it has anything to do with the schema?"
Anyone can make a history or arcana check. If you are trained in arcana take advantage.
DC 20 History:
The schema’s origins date back forty thousand years ago to an ancient civilization of giants in Xen'drik which had an incredible level of magic proficiency.
DC 20 Arcana:
Runes on the schema are from a more recent origin. These cleverly hidden runes appear to be written in the modern common runic tongue. It appears House Cannith artificers may have found a way to etch their own instructions on the schema with magic. The modern runes follow the same behavior as the other ancient runes.

“I don’t know...I thought so, but the schema had some modern runes on it. I am not sure what all means.”Berlyn replies. “I would like to examine the schema and that scroll case if there is time and a safe space to do so.”
After what you experienced in the Depths of Sharn, returning to Cogsgate ward in Lower Tavick’s Landing is a breath of fresh air. You now see that even the poorest in the lower wards have it way better than the people who live in the Cogs. Trigger suggests that the professor is not at MU at this time. Instead, he is likely home. He informs the party of the professor's home address. You find a skycoach and start your way up to Northedge’s switching station in Oak Towers ward. It is getting dark. It is cloudy but it does not appear like it will rain tonight. Clouds cover most of the moons except two.
Almost an hour later, you stand in Professor Garthen Daela’s home office. Although it is not so late, the Professor is not wearing his scholarly clothes. Instead, he’s wearing a white nightgown. He looks especially tiny behind his great desk.

Lily smiles at Eman when he takes her hand, she can sense his unease and trepidation at being within this place; something that echoes within her own heart. Yet, she puts on a smile and a brave face for him, to give him some courage of heart. Once back above and out of the foul smells, she takes a deep breath of fresh(ish) air and looks over at Eman. "We are out now! That is a smell I'll not soon forget, but we found that which we sought, yes?"
"Yes, Lily." Eman smiles and shakes his head. "That was an adventure. It was nice to go new places and see new things. But, let's try to keep the sky above us if possible." A haunted look briefly crosses his face.
(Will wait for one of the students to address the professor first.)
Seeing the look that crosses Emanuel's face, Lily takes his head in both her hands and forces him to look into her eyes. "Hey, we did what we had to do to survive. You did nothing wrong down there. Hell, you saved my life. That shifter made his choice and paid the consequences for those actions. It's not as if you waited until he was sleeping and then slit his throat out of spite. That would be a different thing altogether. But that's not the kind of person you are. You're a protector, Emanuel, and that's what you did; you protected us." She leans up on her toes to plant a kiss on Eman's forehead and whispers to him. "Whatever you need, I'm here for you."

"Good evening, professor," Berlyn greets him. She is feeling a little squirrely after their recent encounters and bit suspicious. Before going on, she is going to try and gauge his demeanor.
