"What do you guys think of having an extra companion along for this part of the expedition? We didn't exactly fare as well as we might have hoped with our last spat of trouble. An extra person might make all the difference next time."
"Bloody Spear!" Emanuel calls out. "We could see if you can join the expedition if you like. We could always use more help." He turns to the rest of the group. "Right guys?"

Trigger remains silent concerning inviting Bloody Spear, insteading moving up into the now open corridor a few steps. He turns back toward whoever happens to be the closest to him.
"We'll likely need to light a few torches, or lamps if we have any."

"Yes, of course!" Bloody Spear recovered quickly. Within moments, she is bringing up the rear. She gazed around the interior and whistles, "Woo, this place could use a tune up." She traces a finger along a wall until the tip of her finger is blackened with dirt and dust.

"Hmmm, I wonder if there is any additional security. My father insists that one can never be too careful." Berlyn looks about checking for hidden triggers and traps.

Berlyn and Jhess, you are able to deduce a few things... (They read the spoiler)
First, it seems true that this foundry has been long abandoned. There is a thick layer of dust on the walls and floors. No one has been here for quite some time, though you do find some rat droppings. It's hard to tell when those were left behind.
Second, there appear to be no traps here!

The metal door which leads to the room on your right (the western wall) is locked, but the lock is eroded beyond usefulness. It would take little effort to bust in there or pick the lock. There is a coppery smell in the air, similar to rust. You can vaguely hear a low pitched vibration coming from the other end of the hallway (the large room that is south). Finally, you inspect the barrels. One is empty, but the other two are full of small metallic parts like screws, nails, copper instruments, and other similar trinkets. You think it might be worth it to bring these things back to MU for an extra monetary reward.
As you all move a little further into the hallway, you can tell that the room directly south of you (pay attention to the compass on the map!) seems to be a larger room, but in this total darkness, it's hard to make out the features of that room. There seems to be a faint green light in there, but it doesn't help you get a better view from this angle.
Bloody Spear follows along and hovers over the door on the western wall. She looks at the lock on the metal door to that room and remarks, "Huh, doesn't seem too strong. Want to check it out? I bet there are all sorts of things in here that that rich professor will pay handsomely for."

It's plain to your eye, Eman, the lock is rotted away and isn't much of a lock anymore. A few hits from a blunt object or even a clumsy hand with a lockpick could open this door.
