As Amaruve is about to crash through the cieling of the Solarium he grows into a Large Brown Bear (thematic choice) and immediately turns to stone crushing anything beneath him.
@BDaddLy game_die for luck: 1d20 (1) Total: 1 Critical Fail!
Amaruve blasts through a bit of stone statuary on top of the Solarium, a stone walkway, a large tree growing to cover part of the roof, and finally comes to rest on the center platform where he and his party found themselves just a short while ago when they first faced the water elemental and Burgee. Unforunately, all of the debris he created lands directly on top of him just before he reverts into a flesh-and-blood bear. Amaruve, you will suffer quite a lot of damage and be restrained if you change your form right now. Might be best to remain a statue for the time being. (Any thoughts?)
Perspicacious, you gallantly swing through the hole made by Amaruve to see the Solarium in a state of devastation compared to how you left it. As you pass through the barrier of the roof, the blank obscurity of the interior of the room resolves itself into the bright, sunlit room you remember. Strange sunbeams still filter in through the glass (though there is no sun in this world), but you see new, deep, pitch-black rifts in the walls and floor that mark Porphyrion's ascension from this space. The water that filled most of this enormous, spherical hall remains in place, but it is now brackish and muddy, clearly having served its purpose in somehow facilitating the giant's awakening here.
Sitting crosslegged with eyes closed in the middle of the Solarium is Sagacious. His slate-gray skin and midnight black horns are oddly vibrant, and a blue gleam surrounds him. Cradled in his arms is the Oar, the instrument that the Archmage described to you, Perspicacious. He summoned it from Amaruve, claiming it from him as the bear fell. It's no longer a simple Staff of Frost, though. Now, a branching array of root-like spirals of blue light extends from its tip, their ends fading away into space as though terminating in other planes of reality. You aren't a mage, Perspicacious, but you have enough magic in you to taste the crackling, copper-taste in the air that signifies that tremendous energy is at play here.
He gives no sign that he has noticed you; not even Amaruve's crashing entrance thirty feet in front of him caused him to open his eyes. What do you do?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Perspicacious tries to get a lay of the land. She looks closely at Sagacious, trying to determine if he's aware of his surroundings. The fact that he summoned the staff might indicate he's aware of at least something. She'll also look for objects, containers, anything that might be used to trap or control Sagacious. Or maybe a lever for a trap door. She'll stop short of anything that might awake the tiefling, holding out for the rest of the team to arrive.
Seeing the other skippers dive down, Tony kicks Fiorello out of the skipper, “Sit tight, bird boy, be right back!” Tony guns it downward toward Sagacious, fully intending to hit him with the skipper.

Tony sees Sagacious sitting in the center of the thin platform. He barrels toward the tiefling, prepared to do whatever it takes to end this quickly and save his sister. Brutus roars downward, its engines letting loose a whistling war cry of air and steam as it plummets toward its target.
Perhaps five feet above Sagacious' head, a single, hair-thin strand of the Oar's blue light gracefully snakes away from the main root system and intercepts Brutus and the goblin. There is a flash of light, a sudden inrush of wind, and Brutus and Tony are gone.
In the peaceful meditative serenity of this form Amaruve isn't at all sure if he's yet come to rest. He gets an unspoken feeling he should hold this form for a few beats.
A moment of desire washes over Perspicacious as she sees the oar sitting in Sagacious' lap. So much power, and control. It could be hers. Maybe it wasn't enough to stop him. Maybe she needed that power for herself... the moment passes. She shakes her head. She's not sure what just happened, but she knows it wasn't natural. Whatever the case, Sagacious still needs to be stopped. She begins to take a hesitant step closer to Sagacious when the sound of roaring engines grows louder from above. Looking up, she sees Brutus on a collision course for the center of the Solarium. "Oh Tony..." she utters, before diving to the side behind a broken pillar to avoid the crash.
But the crash never comes, and she watches as Brutus, presumably with Tony, and possibly Fiorello inside, vanishes. "Mammon's Gold," she swears.
"Sit tight? Indeed!" Fiorello shouts after Tony and as Brutus speeds off he flys after him as quickly as he can but as he follows he sees the flash and Tony is gone. Fiorello comes to roost on the roofline of the Solarium peering down. His eyes blink as he tries to make sense of what has occurred. He sees the druid as a stone statue and tries to see further down, but needs a closer look. He takes flight again and soars down toward Perspicacious. "Whaaaat was that?" he whispers to her as he completes his descent and looks around the the area. "You're hurt," he adds as he examines her. "If I may..." and he reaches out and to heal her. (+24 HP for Perspicacious)
"Thank you, I'm not sure what just happened, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to rule out any aggressive action against Sagacious right now. We have to separate him from that staff somehow..." says Perspicacious. "When we first got here, they castle did some sort of scan... it read us for our most threatening traits and then removed that from us. I wonder if there's anyway we can use that against Sagacious."Still pondering the thought, Perspicacious takes out the bell from her pack and rings it, summoning her flask friend. "Chime, can you talk to the Solarium? Can you ask it to scan Saggy over there for threats?" Turning to fiorello, she says,"If this works, be ready to get that oar away from him as quickly as possible."
Chime hops from your (hip? bag?) and scratches their screw-on head/cap for a moment. Then, in a lightbulb moment, it throws a spindly hand into the air and rushes off toward the pile of debris currently lying on top of Amaruve. They rummage around for a moment (completely ignoring the bear statue). Then, with an excited chime, they return with a large broken chunk of thick, clear glass. Small swirls of orange light move across its surface every now and then; it looks very familiar.
(You've obtained a piece of one of Vox's command panels, Perspicacious! What would you ask of them?)
Meanwhile, the battle outside continues to rage. There is a roar from Porphyrion that shakes the entire chamber, sending showers of debris raining from the walls. As this happens, the pile atop Amaruve shifts just a bit; partially freeing the bear statue.
"Chime, you're a genius. If you had a mouth on you, I'd kiss you. Now, what did it call itself... Vex... Vax... Vox! Vox, can you hear me? We.. uh, we need your services. It's very important that you scan this room for any threats to the the Solarium... and Laputa... and well... everything." Perspicacious looks impatiently at the glass, hoping the system intelligence was still there in the broken shard. She gives furtive glances to Fiorello as she waits, hoping against hope that the plan works.
Fiorello pauses his grooming and looks up at Perspicacious and his eyes blink. "I could call upon the gods to grant me a look into Sagacious' mind. It may not work, and worse could disturb him, but if he is in deep thought, we could chance upon those thoughts."

There is a flash of orange light. The humanoid shape of Vox appears for a moment, then flickers like a candle and disappears. Then again, ten feet away, they appear on the surface of the water, spins as though fending something off, and disappears yet again. This continues for a few moments, and then the shape ceases to return. Instead, you hear Vox's voice (a little redundant, I know) issue from the glass you're holding, Perspicacious:
"Visiters to Laputa... we apologize for this oversight. Somehow the creature Sagacious was able to cloak himself from our sight. We regret to inform you that we have been barred entry to the Solarium by the magical instrument he carries, and we cannot directly intervene." Vox pauses, and the glass in Perspicacious' hands begins to vibrate. Vox continues, their voice booming as the glass begins to crack. "HOWEVER, THIS IS STILL THE DOMAIN OF THE SUMMERFOLK, AND AS SUCH..." Vox continues, but speaks now in the slippery notes of Sylvan.
Jean, the Terminator skull at your waist rattles to life and begins translating Vox's words in its buzzing robotic voice "Castle Laputa, initiate threat nullification procedure."
There is yet another flash of orange light. And inexplicably the Oar disappears from Sagacious' grasp. It sinks into the space around the tiefling just like Jean's Tower blade did into the gate when you first arrived in this place From Porphyrion, his head peering downward at you from half a mile overhead, there is a sudden roar that shatters the remaining stained glass windows of the Solarium.
Amaruve, you transformed just in time you extract yourself from the rubble just as the sound wave hits you (which otherwise would have inflicted fairly significant thunder damage). The four of you, Fighter, Rogue, Monk, and Bear, attempt to stand your ground as the fury of an ancient and terrible creature bears its full weight into the room you share with the object of its hatred.

Porphyrion doesn't resist your attempt to read its thoughts. Shielded as you are by your divine power, the intensity of the giant's awareness doesn't destroy your mind.
It's A LOT, though. The idea that you could command this creature in this way is laughable, you realize (but it was a good idea).
Flashes of everything Fiorello ever knew to exist erupted through his mind in a single moment and he staggered back as his mind came surging back to the present. "I sensed another's presence," he says, "but how can I..." Fiorello collects himself and calmly sits. He relaxed himself, opening his mind and let his thoughts reach out into the ether attempting to let his presence be felt. Guide me child, he thinks.
