Ellywick considers this, taking in Ashe's wizardly garb. He begins slowly. "That is entirely fair, mistress spellslinger. I certainly have enough trouble without borrowing yours" He looks from Ashe, to the tiefling, to the dragonborn, and then back to the half-drow. "There are two things stopping me from walking out that door, though. First, I'm not a fan of bullies, and including the bloodying of your nose to defend herself, I've seen no evidence to justify this woman being manhandled by master copperscales here." He jerks his head toward Alijurn, then leans forward on the desktop. "Second, and this is the real sticking point: I heard an interesting story tonight- something about a murder and the folk responsible being caught pretty easily. TOO easily." He sits back and begins to strum again on his little lute, a sly look on his face. "You tell me! Am I playing in the right key?"
"Oh my, I'm not sure what you mean..." Ashe shakes her head. "A murder? We certainly found ourselves in trouble, but we aren't murderers..."
Dee, it would appear this gnome that followed us in here may know too much...

The tiefling gasps, “That’s where I’ve seen you before! You two were part of the assassination of Governor Herial! Mr. Bard, you have to believe me, these people are dangerous criminals. They’re incredibly good at their jobs and could kill you without a second thought if they get the drop on you!”
Ellywick is certain that was a veiled threat disguised as a plea for help. She is confident in this situation. Though, there is something that seems... off about her physically. It’s hard to place.

Wick fiddles with a tuning knob absently, "If they were to kill me they would have to explain to about two score people and an old cuss of a dwarf why there will be no more music between fights tonight. But I have the perfect solution! We'll let the dragonborn compel everyone present to tell the truth- a neat little trick that, sadly, I do not possess. You and I are entirely innocent of wrongdoing, so we have nothing to worry about!"
Good!Dahme'dre replies to the comment about Ellywick. The more people we can get our hands on who know anything, the better.
Dahme'dre looks around to be sure the coast is clear before she lets her illusion fade. She steps up the ladder again looking for a window or entrance to the second floor. (Where I presume the room is)
The distinction between truth and deception is gray and blurred at best. An honest man will repeat fiction as truth, as readily as another will use facts to lead fools astray. Use this readily and be wary of it as much. She will trap you with knowledge of our escape. Her spectral hand taps on the glass behind Ellywick.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As he enters the room behind everyone else the others have already started their conversation. When Ellywick mentions magic and truth, Alijurn throws the girl onto the bed and slams the door behind him."So, would you mind telling us the truth now, girl? Magic comes especially handy in when used for interrogative purposes." With a bang he slams his holy symbol onto the bedpost casting Zone of Truth DC 12 CHA.
When the spell has started working, whether she makes the save or not he will lay a hand on his mace giving himself a little guidance for the upcoming threat "It should also be said that we have no laws against roughening up the suspect a little. So be sure to speak up so we can hear you." Intimidation: 7 + 2

Ellywick gives Alijurn a little wink. Just then, there is a sharp tapping on the glass just behind him and he lets out a high-pitched yelp of surprise. All illusion of calm gone, Wick's cheeks flush as he twists to see the mage hand floating outside.

She waits for a moment before responding to Alijurn, bobbing her head in thought for a moment, “Yeah, I think I can manage that.” She looks smugly calm.
Beads of sweat begin to form on Ellywick's brow. He hadn't realized that the onslaught of the compulsion would last for longer than a few seconds. He stops idly strumming his ukulute as he focuses his will on resisting the cleric's unexpectedly strong spell. 36 seconds later, though...
"Damn. I thought this was a really clever plan, but it turns out this spell is better than I thought. You're an ugly cuss, dragonborn, but you toss a mean bit of magic. Wow, that was really nice of me to say- I never compliment people unless I'm trying to get something out of them. Maybe I should try to be a more genuinely polite person." He clamps a hand over his mouth and continues to mutter muffled truths into his palm until this fit of honesty passes.
