"Well, how would you prefer your comission then?" The young Rhennee beauty asks Brynn with a hint a teasing smile, briefly biting her full lower lip.
Esme didn't comment on Seri's thoughts about how to deal with what they had found. Finders keepers was the only guidance she would ever need, but she didn't mind the idea of gaining good will within Saltmarsh. She wouldn't bother with watching the body of Sanbalet being disposed of, preferring instead to catch some more plesasant rest with her newly acquired book of poems.
Later upstairs, as the cook walks into a nest of over-sized centipedes, Esme swiftly blasts the closest one with green witchy fire.
Seri squeezes past Cook into the kitchen to confront the many-legged arthropods beside him, hoping to draw their attacks while the others attack from distance. As she does, Ripple, who had held nearly motionless on her shoulder, suddenly flies at one of them, then back safely out of the kitchen. The distraction serves to create an opening for Seri to attack with her coral-hafted trident, trailing its aquamarine glow.
Part of Seri wishes to talk to these beasts and avoid conflict as she had with the snakes, but she doubts she can reason with them. It would have to be Nature, red in tooth and claw, with the stronger group prevailing and the house being less perilous for it.
Seeing Esme's deadly blast fly just off the mark, she glances back at Brynn, pointing at centipede 4. "Let us finish that one first, Salt-Blessed One."
Ripple: Using his 60' fly speed with Flyby (no AoOs), the osprey takes the help to grant advantage to Seri's attack, then glides back well outside the kitchen.
Seri: Movement: Seri trots S - 10' W through Darixa and Cook's space to confront the giant centipedes without leaving any of their melee ranges. Bonus Action: (None) Action: Seri casts True Strike, attacking centipede 4 with her trident, at advantage thanks to Ripple'shelp. True Strike with trident to hit: 21 True Strike with trident damage: 6 (radiant)
(Seri has the Shield spell available as a Reaction and may use it.)
Giant Centipede 4 takes radiant tines to the segmented body. It writhes and clamps its drooling acidic mandibles. Seems it is still alive and dangerous.
It almost feels like everything comes to a stop when the centipedes make their appearance. (Not at all because the player had an insane week... Sorry for the wait all! <3) At least for Brynn. Their body gave an involuntary shudder. The sounds they made and their many, many legs, gave them a bit of the heebee jeebees. Not that they feared them. They just really were not their favourite insect. Ever have insects eat dead or burned flesh? Yeah, they were okay with keeping their distance on this one too.
Brynnmay have taken a bit too much time calibrating their arm, but when Seriwould glance their way and point one out to focus on... Salt-Blessed One. They'd finally snap back to it. They'd nod affirmatively, raise their arm and take aim. Their eyes narrow as they stare down their sight. "My pleasure." Let's not keep them waiting...
((Hit can't be avoided by Cook so 5 piercing and poisoned (for how long?) Do I lose a turn as well? I believe order was "Esme Brynn Seri giant centipedes Cook Darixa..."))

"More meat for the stew," Cook hisses as one of the giant creepy things manages to snake in and take a bit of a bite out of him. He immediately swings back, both fists striking out.
Action: Unarmed Strike - 1or 14 +6 for 7 to hit... Nat one so not bothering rolling damage. Bonus Action: Unarmed Strike - 7or 15 +6 for 13 to hit for 9 bludgeoning damage. Movement: None
"Unless I'm the meat," Cook adds, having missed widely with his first blow and the second not being much better.
Seeing Cook again put himself in the midst of the fray, Darixaslips her lute into her hands, strumming a few notes and singing the same short verse she had sung before. (OOC - Bonus Action, granting Inspiration: once within the next hour, when failing a D20 Test, can roll 1d6 and add the number rolled to the total.):
'If tempest strikes with all its might, May you still keep up the fight!'
Her voice then shifts to singing arcane words as she casts Starry Wisp to send a mote of light at the most injured of the creatures attacking Cook. (Spell Attack: 21, Damage: 1 radiant)
As much as possible, she tries to stay back from the giant insects.
Seri pivots, noticing with concern, Cook being bitten by one of the many-legged arthropods and looking worse for wear. She only has limited primal magic reserves from the Wave Father left to her, so for now, she trusts that the big man does not require immediate assistance.
Instead, Ripple sails back in through the door and flaps his wings at eyes of the centipede already singed by Darixa before gliding back out the door (60' movement with Flyby). Seri immediately presses the advantage, jamming her aquamarine-infused trident into the creature's head.
Ripple: flies in and back out the kitchen door, taking the help action on the already (slightly) injured centipede.
Seri: Movement: None Bonus Action: None Action: Seri casts True Strike using her Trident on the centipede which was slightly injured by Darixa, at advantage due to help from Ripple. True Strike with Trident to hit: 26 (Natural 20) True Strike with Trident damage: 8 (radiant) (OOC ugh, feels like 50% of the time, crit damage is less than average regular damage, as it is here, 8 < 8.5.)
