Kinnik noticed the silver frame lying unattended in the office. On hand clutched at his ribs to staunch the blood, he shakes his head to clear his thoughts. Focus. Even if he weren't in danger of being killed, he's already learned the hard way that it's unwise to steal from a mage...

Capstabs the red lizardfolk and feels triumph as blood soaks through the leather from the attack.
Copper, meanwhile, brings down his axe onto the Yuan-Ti who throws up an arm to block the damage. She hisses in his face as she deflects the blow. The green flames erupt and land onto the half-elf who shrieks. (You hit the Yuan-Ti, but I am being narrative about how things are going. Also, the priest is out of sight completely.)
Shroud strikes at the Yuan-Ti with amazing precision, but the Yuan-Tiseems to only take scratches as she weaves in place.
Kinnik strikes to the Yuan-Ti's neck, but she grabs the blade with a cruel smile, "Such dirty words from a pretty bird."
Vasha attempts to fire another flame, but the euphoria of casting so many spells at once makes her aim a little off. It singes the door frame.
The red lizardfolkseems lifeless for a moment, but his scaly hand grabs Cap's wrist. "Funny, I hear that all the time-"he coughs blood up and it's then Cap notices the guy has a wand clutched in his other hand. The warforged senses something nasty potentially coming his way from the lizardfolk's touch. (Attack: 20, Damage: 10 necrotic.)
Again you hear the humanpriest shouting, "Can I get an amen!" out in the hall. The snake-like woman responds, "Amen!" (11)
There is obviously something about this spell, judging by the red lizardfolk still being alive, that is completely off.
The Yuan-Tiwoman laughs maniacally as she slashes twice at Kinnik again as she looks down at him thinking about his lovely feathers. (Attack 1: 12 Damage 1: 4, Attack 2: 13 Damage 2: 6, both slashing)
Regardless of the outcome of her attack on Kinnik, she will look at the rest of you with manic eyes, "My pretties, we just want the map to the schema. Show it to me, or perhaps I will collect many more trophies for my necklace this night."

Copper snarls in response, looking completely feral. He attempts to drop down, grab Kinnik and slide the Kenku out of the way while maneuvering to put himself between his companion and the attacker. Vasha powers up her coin once more with the same light as outside the office, "Tricky bastard, aren't you?" When the human comes into view, she unleashes another volley of magical bolts, "Can I get a 'Piss off'?".

Kinnik fades in and out of consciousness, struggling to stay alive. One of the last images he sees is of the Yuan-Ti looming over him menacingly. A shame, because his friends rush to his side with their axes and daggers drawn. Together, Copper and Shroud form a sort of cross attack as the Yuan-Ti plucks a single feather from Kinnik's nearly lifeless body. Their teamwork overwhelms her, killing her with their slashes and gashes. She crumbles to the ground.
Cap kneels quickly and does what he can for the bird. Kinnik becomes stable, but it would seem that he is still gone to the world mentally.
Half-Elf: 2 (death save)
The priest, for the briefest moment, reappears in the doorway. Vasha's missiles fire away as her form gives way to that of a potted plant, a beautiful cactus with a flower at its peak. The priest falls to the ground, but not before stabbing the Half-Elf in the throat with a dagger, killing him before turning it on himself and stabbing himself through the heart.

It would appear that the fight is over... When you next take a long rest (reminder, this is 1 hour), you will be able to level up! However, anyone with a passive insight of 10 or better thinks it's time to run. If you are trying to escape, I will need everyone to choose 1 skill or spell and explain how it will help you escape and what you do in your attempt. Once I've seen everyone's rolls and ideas, we will see if you get out of MU without being seen...

As the last of the assailants falls, Copper flight instinct kicks in. He grabs Kinnik, tucking the small avian under his arm like a football, then without a word sprints out of the door. He will try to avoid any guards as best he can, dodging any that come too close.
(So basically he’s just gonna keep dashing, if any guard ends up close enough to attack him he’ll take the hit then use his shifter reaction to run without taking an AOO)
Shroud, still in the guise of the professors niece, will try to judge how long he has before the owners of the approaching foot steps comes into view, and how long it would take him to get out of sight in the opposite direction.
If he has time to spare he would make a very quick scan of the dead student and priest, for any outwardly obvious papers or the like, and grab any quickly, before getting out of view.
Once away from the scene of the crime, Shroud will continue calmly out of the university. Using the guise as cover for who he is and why he is there.

Cap opens the window and peers out. If it would be extremely obvious if he lept out of the building, he doesn't. If there is adequate shade and cover, he hops out and uses his glider to slow and control his fall, keeping to the shade and putting cover behind himself and others.

"Ignorance is bliss, and you look absolutely miserable."
Kinnik dreams. In his dream, he is a raven flying hundreds, no, thousands of feet above the earth. The towers of Sharn are far, far below, and his world is filled with a calm, quiet solitude. The stars and moon are his companions in the inky darkness, and he is content to fly eastward and away from the cold hard earth below.
But something is wrong. He wheels about for a moment, confused. There is something in that forest of spires, something that he can't ignore. He begins to fall, wings whipping about as he tumbles into the city. He manages to right himself in time to avoid colliding with the towers that surround him, but a great weight has settled in his heart and the sky is lost.
There, in the university building, that is the source of the weight. He feels as though a line has tethered him to the earth, and its origin lies in that structure. Suddenly he is there, cawing madly and flapping through the halls. Searching, searching frantically for the weight so he can untie himself. He sees a small group of shadowy figures, stealing away from a scene of carnage and death. One of them carries a heavy burden- the source of his distress, his body. He alights upon his own chest, hopping about to find the source of the tether, to try to free himself from this bondage. The moment his talons rest upon the small leather-bound book stored in his pocket, however...
...The world dissolves in rainbow-colored light. Burning in his mind is the image, the symbol that has haunted his dreams since he first picked up his wonderful, accursed treasure:
