Rutrow comes up and grabs the cigar, looking at the wrapper, squeezing it to determine how fresh it is, smells the one end and... (wait to see my rolls)

*The thug’s hands are tied, but he has a vest pocket which he still could easily access.*
The cigar is fairly new, not even a month old; but something is intuitively, inexplicably, off about it. (*I don’t know if Rutrow ever smoked a cigar before*)
He detects the aromatic smells of cured tobacco and cedar bark, but he also senses a faint scent of sulfur, potassium nitrate, commercial packaging string (*please don’t ask what string smells like lol*), and an unknown but no less unpleasant smell which he is at a loss to identify.

Rutrow has the cigar in his hand, but realizes it very unusual, saying to the bandit, "close but no cigar...this is off...I don't think this is an actual cigar..." looks at the bandit, "but....what do I know? I am just hours off the farm, and fell off a turnip truck last night...??..yeah I did honestly fall off the turnip truck last night, met a Mr. Duke who helped me up. and...'nuff ced about that.....Rutrow looks around...Orien or Lethira is this some sort of magicky stuff? Mia or Joe what say you all?
As far as Rutrow can tell, the cigar is not obviously magical

Hello hello, I am Mr. Dicestone, a fellow adventurer and Planeswalker, enjoying the realm of wonders and wizardry and clicky math rocks. When not crafting the wonderful and whimsical world of Dan-thurás, I’m also working on custom spells and subclasses (hopefully coming soon to a forum or campaign near you) and other enjoyable settings for people to experience or staring with my third eye into space, rolling dice for no reason

Lethira accepts the cigar when it reaches her, turning it slowly between her fingers as she studies the wrapper in the firelight.
“I should disappoint you before anyone develops confidence in my opinion,” she says, glancing briefly toward Rutrow. “The magic I work with is given, not studied. I know prayers, rites, and the shape of certain things when they move through the world. I never spent years in a tower learning why powders change color or why wizards insist on labeling everything.”
She lifts the cigar to her nose. Tobacco is familiar enough. Cedar too. The rest is not.
“It smells like somebody wanted it to be mistaken for a cigar.” Her gaze shifts toward the captive.. “And whatever it is inside of it, I suspect may do something other than be smoked.”

Lethira glances toward Joe as he studies the cigar again, then shifts her attention toward the prisoner when the suggestion is made.
Flins’ concern earns a small nod of agreement. “I would rather know what it is than discover what it does,” she says calmly. “If nobody recognizes it, I would keep it intact until we find someone who does. Preferably, that person should be standing farther away from us than we are now.”
Rutrow states, "I don't think letting him smoke this is a good idea because it is not a cigar. it can very well have something happen that is detrimental to us. What I have no idea, but something very bad for us can happen."
“Couldn’t we cut it open—carefully, of course?” Joe asks. “Maybe then we could make an informed decision. Other than Dr. Finklestein, I don’t know anyone who might be qualified enough to check it out; and Chuck is a bit…” He struggles to describe Dr. Finklestein’s manner satisfactorily. “…eccentric… He might be more dangerous with that cigar than not.”

Mia does not want to touch the cigar, so she’ll stand back a bit.

Joe asks Lethira, “If it’s not a smoking cigar, what shall we do with it?” He sniffs the cigar again.
He looks at the bandit. “How about letting him smoke it? He said he wanted a smoke. If it’s poison, that’ll take care of him, Flins.”

"We can't risk the possibility that the cigar has other effects besides poison." Flins says sighing
