CHAPTER THREE - FIREBALL! AFTER THE EXPLOSION 2 MINUTES BEFORE THE WATCH
Astrid, the dead gnome that was found in the burning building has dry waste on his boots and cloak, suggesting he has spent time in the sewers recently. He also has a pouch containing five 100 gp gemstones. You also remember that keeping evidence on you is a crime and your gut tells you to either cough it up to the authorities, or keep it a secret.
A noble of a woman comes up to you as you finger through the gems, startling you. She's not interesting in what you're doing, but she thinks you're someone important. She tells you in a hurried panic as things settle down, “I tell you, it was not a man. More like a puppet shaped like a man. A puppet without strings. It was on the rooftop. It hurled something into the crowd below that caused the explosion. I saw those halflings burned alive! I saw them!”
A puppet without strings. Wait a minute. The description bears a striking similarity to the automatons that sometimes march in the Day of Wonders parade during the fall season. You love those parades. The Day of Wonders parade is sponsored by the local temple of Gond, you remember. Your heart pounds as you realize this woman's eyewitness of this automaton is a HUGE lead.
The watch seems to arrive shortly after. Leon, Azrael, and then FC a bit behind, pass them up as they walk towards The Bent Nail.
Danitriel followed the group to the Bent Nail, frowning. Would the perp try to lose them in the tavern or was this just a redirect? She resolved to keep her eyes open.
CHAPTER THREE - FIREBALL! AFTER THE EXPLOSION AT THE BENT NAIL
At the bent nail, Tally Fellbranch tells you all that he saw a large heavyset human in black clothes running past the shop, but made nothing of it, as the explosion took over his curiosity rather than the running man. He looked burnt and injured. Tally said he continue running down the street, but doesn't know which direction he went from there.
Pheral tags behind the group. A bit behind the eight ball due to earlier events. Can some catch me up on things? what clues do we have? any warm trails ?

"Uh..my teacher long long ago told me..." Lythril has a hard time remembering what she ate for dinner let alone what she was taught by her tutors. It would be remarkable if she could recall anything of her history lessons.

"............anybody got any potatoes? We could drop a potato in each hole an' see which ones get viciously mauled by horrible monsters?"
Lythril's knowledge provided some basic information: The House of Inspired Hands, Waterdeep’s temple of Gond, sits on the corner of Seawatch Street and Shark Street in the Sea Ward.
Azraels eyes would close, in what at first seemed like frustration, but was easily detectable as him sighing it all away. His eyes open suddenly as he speaks It seems we missed whomever it was regardless. Well then, I suppose I have time to answer your question properly now, Leon. The dragonborn turned to face him, just inside the shop, Azrael stood tall and proud despite this failure on his part. he was like a statue facing the sea, challenging it to come to him, and bearing it's force as if it were the easiest path in life.
Leon, if what you did was foolish, then I am a jester. For I too went back into the same inferno to save you. I could just say 'Bahamut wills it' or some other cheap line. Or 'I did what I had to do' or 'it was fated' and so on.... one hand rolling to emphasize his point. But if you want the real answer, it goes much deeper than that. When I was a true child, as I myself am only seventeen as we speak. I grew up in a mixed heritage family. I'm sure you're aware of what 'the rage' is, and how it effects dragons.
My mother, a dragonborn of lawful blue, was taken in by a dragon of evil bronze. As the Rage ravaged the land, my mother watched over him in his slumber, a.. tactic meant to counter the effects, or otherwise prevent one from succumbing to it.
For a while after, they had fallen into lust, as dragons are wont to do. I was the result of that union. Naturally my father left and I was raised among my mothers tribe. I was a being born of light and shadow, while I was not overtly ostracized, people feared me. My, people. There were many children, and of course there were those who would impose their will on others, or as you probably would call them gangs of bullies, picking on the weak.
I was always told that one day I would have to make a choice, though for many years I did not know nor understand what they meant. But it felt wrong, that those with power and bad intentions would overwhelm those who were neither. So I took it upon myself to aid those who were attacked for no better reason than because the other person could.
That ultimately led me to my calling, friend. But that is another story. The point I'm trying to make, as cheap as it may sound, is this; You don't need a reason to do the right thing. You just do it. Even if it means my own death, even if there is no chance I would succeed, I would still try to save you.
With that, he would give him a hearty pat on the back, as well as saying Thank you for coming Lythril. I only apologize that there was nothing here to be done in the end. And there was no "ass" to kick. Oh, and I heard what you said about me as you were following.
A bit of a mirthy smile spreading across his face.. though it was impossible to tell if he was just playing around, or if he was teasing her, leaving it dangling in the air, before starting a slow march back to the site of the incident.
----
Once back, he is almost immediately questioned about Gond. Azrael hrmmms as he would start to speak.
I apologize that I know little of other faiths, aside from the fact they should abandon them, and join with Bahamut. This is just how I feel personally - But I find the other deities to be utterly worthless, including the Gauntlets Tyr. They ask their followers to do great, and dangerous things, while giving them only minor boons. Almost as if to see if thier mortal can pass some test for their personal amusement.
Bahamut, walks the world himself, righting wrongs in person, in direct defiance of the celestial pact of non-interference, while the other so called 'gods' are content to watch thier followers do all thier work, for table scraps. I do not discount that they have helped a certain champion of thiers lead the way to victory in some era changing event. But none of them are willing to step to the field themselves, except Bahamut. I cannot respect a leader who hides behind their followers. If I have offended anyone here, I apologize, but I am not sorry for why I believe what I do.
Leon listened to Azrael’s words intently as he truly didn’t expect to get a comprehensive answer (or get an answer at all), but once he finished, the half elf understood.
“Wow, ah,” Leon cleared his throat. “Sorry, I mean to say... Thank you again.” He bends forward in a slight bow before continuing. “For explaining and telling me of your childhood. It must have not been easy, but it shaped you into a very strong man and as someone who I, and many others, respect.”
He leans back again, pursing his lips before speaking again, his eyes glancing around the room trying to figure out how to word what he wanted to say. “If you ever find yourself in such a situation similar to earlier, I will not hesitate in coming to your side, even if it meant my life, it is for the good.”
”Thank you.”

Upon arrival Azrael was questioned on the Temple of Gond, Leon doubting he knew anything on them, tried regardless. Maybe some of the books I’ve read had something on them... He thinks.

Danitriel hides a look of amusement and answers as well. "Gond, also known as the Wonderbringer and the Lord of All Smiths - Something I imagine doesn't go over well with the Dwarven pantheon -, is the god of inventors. He's worshiped by both humans and gnomes and in fact his faith is the state religion of the nation of Lantan. His temple here is the House of Inspired Hands and is one of the many temples and shrines in the city."
The blond nods at Dani’s explanation, saving that into his memory now.
“To their temple then?” He questions the group.

CHAPTER THREE - FIREBALL! THE HOUSE OF INSPIRED HANDS THE SECRET OF NIM
The House of Inspired Hands looks like a cross between a temple and a workshop. The symbol of Gond, a toothed cog with four spokes, is displayed prominently. You see the silhouette of a humanoid shape perching on the rooftop. It extends an arm, releasing a tiny metal sparrow into the sky. The bird does a few loops in the air, then veers right toward you.
Attack: 19 Damage: 3 The bird makes a beeline to Lythril, but she sees it, and raises her shield. With a loud "TONK!", the bird crashes against her shield, falls to the ground, and doesn't move again. Upon inspection, it's completely mechanical and broken. The humanoid on the roof retreats into the temple attic.
