It's around midnight, now, sure, and it's summertime in Waterdeep. The nights are nice and cool, thankfully. Pheral, with the Nimblewright detector in hand, leads you all to where it is.
It's in a back alley, there..! Among bags of trash. It's lying in the heap. It sees you all and makes no effort to escape or fight.
Astrid and Dani return from the aborted attempt at contacting Mr. Mirt. As they approach the manor after sunset, they notice a lot of light streaming out from the main floor, and a lot of commotion inside. Weapons drawn, they burst through the front door, expecting the worst. Only, what they find brings them to laugh uncontrollably. Little pieces of furniture are scattered throughout the main room, and their crew are all sitting around, scratching their heads in confusion. Leon is crying. The IKEA-like pieces of the chair he was attempting to assemble are strewn out in front of him, somewhat assembled....but not in the form of a chair. Rather, the assemblage looks like a torture device one would find in the constables jail.
Between laughs, Astrid finally managed to squeak out “So sorry we missed your little tinkertoy party!”
After many minutes of laughing, and hiccuping through tears, Astrid finally calms down. “Who’s the new guy?”
Azrael explained quickly that it was someone that FC apparently knew, and that was all he knew about it, before heading out and the group ultimately finding the Nimble.
----
Azrael would approach the Nimble... Readying Chromatic orb (lightning) on the off chance this was some sort of ruse.
Put your spoiler here.
You.. Machine... I may as well cut to the point.... .. I know you cannot talk most likely... But have you lost what you had? The little stone?
Put your spoiler here.
Azrael having guessed that the Nimble had either been ambushed, or lost it somewhere, as this thing had tried to run quite successfully on several occasions.
Or is it still in your possession? if not.. where did it go?
The condition of our quest was to destroy it. I also understand your characters reasons for not wanting to. Don't forget Nim's reason for making it. We can always bring Nim home with us too, he's lonely, you're lonely ;) (Since Valetta DID say we can take any 1 creation home with us) just putting it out there for consideration as well.
CHAPTER THREE TRASH ALLEY NO WHERE TO GO. NO OTHER PURPOSE.
The nimblewright is in good condition, but dirty. And stinky. It is very lethargic. Sad, even. As if a machine could look sad. It looks at Azrael as he speaks.
"But have you lost what you had? The little stone?" Azrael asks it. The Nimblewright shakes it's head.
Yes.
When you ask it where did it go, it takes out a piece of paper from it's chest cavity and hands it to you. Having fulfilled it's programming, it powers down, and "dies."
(Az. Any one of the creations in the Temple's storage. Not the rogue nimblewright.)

Lythril says brief rights over the body, it may not have been a living thing of blood but it did have a life of sorts. Kindle the light through acts of kindness and forgiveness.
Are we taking the body back now or at dawn?

You guys carry the rogue atomaton back to the Temple of Gond. The Priestess is pleased to see that it has been found and thanks you for your service. Taking it upstairs, Nim opens the door to the attic and silently mourns over his creation.
”Well.” the Priestess begins, “I believe there is the matter of pay-“
But Nim looks at the party and hand signs to her.
I wish to go with them.
The priestess studies Nim for a moment, the request was unexpected. He signed some more.
Treated me well here. Wish to serve higher purpose. Creation did bad. Want to do more good.
”I see..” the Priestess says. “If that is what you wish, I imagine it is up to our new friends..?”
You may choose to add Nim to your family. If you do this, you can take Nim home with you INSTEAD of the money and trinket reward. Nim is an engineer and can do repairs, constructions, and requires no sleep or food, making him, like Lif, a free bodyguard/security.
Pheral desperately wants to take Nim home with her. I'd love to take you home Nim, but I fear the choice isnt only mine. She turns to who ever is there with here. What do you think?

Not everyone has to be alone. Can help. Want friends. Solitude was great sadness. Want purpose. Thankful for Temple. Can be more useful with new friends.
Nim smiles at the Priestess, you can tell he is thankful for their hospitality, but yearns for a higher purpose. Technically, automatons have no rights, but the Priestess is not that kind of woman, and while she would be sad to see Nim go - it is his choice to make.
He looks at all of you expectantly. Hopeful. The choice is yours. He promises to behave, and cause no trouble.
“The gold would be nice,” Leon pondered aloud, a hand rubbing at his chin in thought. “But Nim seems to be very handy and could help in bringing the taproom back so we can start the business.”
He stops and looks between Pheral and the nimblewright. “Loneliness is a demon we seem to all understand, one way or another, and I do not wish for any of us to fall within its grasp anymore. I say we take them in.”
