Being reprimanded wasn't a thing Leon was a fan of, but the tiefling had a point. I shouldn't have just stood there, he thought, gnawing at his bottom lip. I could have tried to listen to what those detectives were talking about, maybe try and see if I could've gotten through... Leon was doubtful he would make it through regardless, they would have to get their answers elsewhere.
Like... Green eyes scanned the sign before him. The 'Old Xoblob Shop'? Fatcat did mention the name, it wouldn't hurt to ask to see if he possibly knew anything? Leon peered inside the store some more to see if he spots anything of particular interest before he turned back to the group. (Perception: 17)
"Oi, ah--" Leon called, pointing to the shop. "You mentioned his name, Xoblob? Perhaps he knows something of your friend and what happened to those people."

CHAPTER ONE - A FRIEND IN NEED PART TWO - THE STREETS OF WATERDEEP OLD XOBLOB SHOP or "POP THE GOILS AND ASK ABOUT FLOON"
PHERAL: Old Xoblob, who is a deep gnome, looks at you asking your question, excited to make a sale, but instead of answering, points to his wares. "Many trinkets for sale! Come in! Look around!" (He has all trinkets for sale at list prices from the PHB, anywhere from 1-6 gp)
LEON: You notice the shop has a very large window in its front, like a toy store. In front of it on display is a very large beholder stuffed animal. It creeps you out a little bit, and you don't know why.
As the group wandered away from the crime scene, Astrid turned around and yelled out in common to the female inspector “See you at the card table this Friday, Crispy!”
She then scurried along on her little legs, keeping astride with FC. All along the short walk, she kept waiving and calling out to random city dwellers, seemingly knowing everyone in this huge city.
When they arrive at the curio shop, Astrid jumped with glee as she bounced in through the front door. In gnomish, she calls out to Xoblob “Old buddy old pal, how’s my favorite curiosity doin’ today?! Business still down, with all these gang fights and killin’s going on in the area, scaring away all the good folks?”
Leon squints at the stuffed doll, staring deeply into it's single central eye before shivering and looking away. Yikes.
He ends up walking in the store behind Pheral and Astrid, looking at all the other wares the old man had but also listening in on their conversation. So far it seemed like he was just trying to make a sale, maybe buying something would get him to talk...
I don't know if I need to roll to listen in on their conversation to see if he's telling anything truthfully as Leon browses, but juuust in case I'll roll for insight? (Tell me if I'm wrong!)

Old Xoblob was truly beginning to enjoy whatever Lythril was insinuating, perhaps even enjoyed the physical abuse as well. She would have gotten the information out of him, but upon seeing Azrael's enormous form, he slowly looks away from Lythril and all the way up to Azrael's eyes. He puts his hands up, receiving your message loud and clear, dissapointed it didn't get to go further with the seducing dwarf.
"No no! No trouble!" He smiles as you tower over him. "Saw something a few nights ago, yes. Mm. Saw a well dressed man and another handsome man outside. Handsome man very drunk. Yes. Both jumped by about five rough-looking men in black leather armor. Yes! Think there were about five attacks, mm? None of them looked familiar, no. No. One of them had a black tattoo of a winged snake on his neck! Yes! That's all I know."
He moves his hand to his trinkets, slowly. "Buy something? Mm?"
Looks like SOMEthing happened a few nights ago on this street. The Skewered Dragon is eye distance from the shop. Old Xoblob knows nothing more, that's all he saw, and didn't see where they were taken. There might be additional clues at the Skewered Dragon. You guys can buy one of the trinkets listed above, or head over to the Skewered Dragon.
Either way, i'll let the others catch up, and we continue FIRST THING TOMORROW "MORNING". <3 <3 Azrael, way to scare the crap out of a deep gnome. Lythril, Old Xoblob's gonna need a cold shower after that performance. Nice play!
Danitriel melted out of the shadows where she had been watching the byplay. "A tattoo of a winged snake you say? And I'll take the fan, kitties are adorable - ask any elf."
Lythril gives the man a smile and a wink, then flips him another coin "Maybe next time I'll come by and play with your...trinkets." then saunters out into the cool night.

Azrael would crack a broad smile then, patting the Gnome on the head like one would a child who had behaved well. Pulling away then, to fetch out two gold coins, and place them on the table. I will be taking this Dragon's blood, it may prove useful in the future, assuming it's real. You know the old saying about being caught between a Dragon and it's hoard. Azrael would shoot a glance at the Gnome who was hopefully still frightened enough to tell the honest mans truth, and wouldn't force him to test the little man.
Regardless, he would put the Vial in his pack, packing it inside of his spare set of common clothes for protection from shocks, and bumps.
The rest of the wares not interesting him in the slightest, he would allow the others to peruse at their leisure as he mentally noted these new details in his memory. After a moment of contemplation, and waiting for any other purchases to be made, so he could have some privacy with the Gnome, he would lean down and get close to the gnome, whispering low so that only he could hear, or at-least try to. I do sincerely apologize friend, But time .. is of the essence as they say. And I have made a vow to see this through, and had no time for a merchants game. But I do sincerely hope you will forgive me, I only did what I felt I must. Your tattoo's did not escape my notice, as they would be impossible not to see, and though I cannot say I know for sure with whom you are affiliated with, I do have a hunch. I would like to stay on neutral terms if my hunch is right. Should you do this for me, I will assure your shop will receive at-least a small uptake in patronage in the future once my.. quest is done in it's entirety. Can we consider this a parlay in credit?
Once the gnome would answer, Azrael would once again rise to full height, and pat Lythril on the shoulder once more I apologize for intruding on your fun, perhaps you'll have time to come back and show him what you intended to this time.
After that, he would make his way just outside the door to await the others, feeling their next stop would be their original.
Leon made note to look for anyone who had a tattoo of a winged snake, back of the neck or not. He would assume that it was some sort of... gang thing, anyone with a tattoo of the sort must mean something. He shook his head. Gang thing? How long was he in the monastery again?
He watched as his team slowly made way out of the shop and followed behind, not particularly interested in anything the old gnome had to offer, but he did turn his head back as he walked to look at that beholder doll again. Another chilling shiver made way down his spine as he looked at his team again.
”Do we have some sort of a plan before we enter in there? Or is it another persuade and intimidate mission?”
