Dastrun began to look around for any loot. He finds a promising place that could hold a cache. He looks around and sees Chance staring at the space rock, he calls him over to help. It turns he has some sort of weird vision thing that can help him. Dastrun got very happy, and began to drag Chance everywhere to find as much loot as possible.
"Of course this is not how the sun is truly! Don't forget that the sun is The Lord of Light, The Keeper of Justice! Soolaire looks at John quizically. "Those are odd nicknames for the Father-Dragon. You should've call Him by His real title, or else I would've known we worshipped the same Being earlier!" He laughs, boisterously, from the realization there is a fellow worshipper of the Father-Dragon. "It would seem we just draw our power from Him in different ways, then!"
Soolaire scavenges for supplies, finding a good amount of cloth, and begins using his mind to wipe the orb down with a cloth.
Valen laughed when he overheard John and Soolaire's conversation. "Glad to see you two are getting along. As well as the other two," he continued, indication Dastrun dragging Chance around. He stood for a bit and watched Soolaire work on wiping off the Fallen Star, trying to guess at it's weight. Heavy is a good answer. He took out some paper and began making calculations. Turning around, Valen called to Dastrun: "Hey, Dastrun! Can you move around a million pounds? Because that's about how much this thing will weigh."
Gideon opened his eyes. He saw both Chance and John watching over him one brushing away the slime from the beast while the other healed. Once all was completed, Gideon looked to both his comrades, "Thank you my friends." He quickly bowed his head to each of them and began to stand, although a bit weakened he began to look around to see if there was any loot that Dastrun and Valen hadn't taken yet.

When Gideon thanked Chance and him, John only smiled and said: I am only the conduit, the Lord of Light, or the Father-Dragon for what I am gathering is the name the desert duelers call Him, is the one Who decided you fought well and in accordance to His ideals, it was Him who healed you.
Said that with a smile in his face, John asks him, seeing that he was going to help Dastrun: Please, if you guys find some crossbow bolts I would appreciate it, my supply is almost at half.
Dastrun comes back with Chance, both carrying an assortment of weapons, coins, and other items that can be sold. He hears Valen's question and begins to ponder, "Well, we cant break it up, in fear of damaging the item or making it sell for less. We'll probably have to use ropes or others means of getting it to the top. On another note, we should all stick together when moving it, its no secret that these things are valuable, and id rather note be overwhelmed by people who want to take it by forceful means" he says while scratching his chin.
' "Hmm, you're right about that. If we had some sort of spell-" A glimmer of light caught Valen's eye. "Hello, beautiful," he murmered as he stooped down to pick up a potion he recognized as a healing potion. Another object glinting in the sunlight drew his attention. Grinning, he gathered up 6 more potions, 2 of which he would have to examine at a later time. He was about to tell John when he spotted a small pouch on the ground, marked with the draconic symbol for magic. "This day just keeps getting better," Valen smiled as he bent down and picked up the small satchel. Inside, he found three gems, which he seemed to recognize. Snapping his fingers and leaping to his feet, he shouted, "We hit the jackpot!" Grinning, he spun around, estatic that he had found not one, not two, but three gems that stored spells. He spotted another in Dastrun's hands. Running over, he snatched it from his grasp and ran off, shouting "Four! Four! I found 'em!"
After running around, estatic with joy, Valen calmed down long enough to examine the greater of the four. It held a second-level spell, that was for sure. Concentrating, Valen felt around in the Weave for the magic logic sequence embeded into the threads around the gem. When he found out what it was, he let out a whoop of laughter. "Hey Dastrun! How do you feel about growing an extra ten feet or so?"
[OOC: Investigation: 19. Arcana: 19. Arcana to figure out the gems: 10. New items: 5 healing potions, 2 potions of (to be determined), 1 cantrip gem, 2 1st-level gems, and 1 2nd-level gem.]
Dastrun furrows his brow, "If I grow all of you would have to carry everything else I usually carry, and still help me get the rock up there." he says while adopting a wild smile , "Although, I would love to grow an extra 10 feet." he finishes. He joins in Valen's laughter.
Gideon too the time to enjoy the moment with his comrades. It reminded him of the time in the woods when all they were all celebrating and having a good time. Seeing the joy on everyone's face made Gideon realize that having comrades made completing this task possible. That without them he surely would have been killed. Reflecting back on the fight he realized that he had been rushing in, making bold moves that he would normally never do. He pondered this but put it in the back of his mind as a trouble for another time.

While his allies shuffle around, scavenging the wrecked tunnels and caverns for loot, Soolaire sits in quiet meditation, communing with the Father-Dragon. The new powers the Father-Dragon had blessed him with for his perseverance in developing his psionic capabilities were incredible. It was like a sixth sense, being able to sense events in the near future with ease. He opened his eyes, sitting up from the charred ground surrounding him. "We should continue our journey." He points to the large orb the starbeasts came from. "If possible, with that thing. It would be advantageous to study its properties to see what we can learn. Plus, it seems to be made of some type of ore. That could fetch a fortune, at the very least." He pulls a long rope, fastened across his chest, and tosses it on the ground. "This should help with creating some sort of harness. Though I can't imagine how we possibly can move the orb out of this ravine. The thing must weigh several thousand kilograms, and we are, if not at the bottom, then close to the lowest level, meaning we'll have to somehow go up."
Dastrun whistled at the size of the space rock, there was no was no way they could carry this, push maybe. He turned around to face his friends looking at them until his eyes landed on...sol."Great" he mumbled to himself. he stomped over to sol and sighed, "Listen" he started to say, "You have the best skills out of all of us for this, ill help you, but we need to find a path that leads to the surface. To make it easier to get the rock there." He waited for sol to answer, but he merely shook his head in understanding. It tool them a little bit to find a path, but they did. The way they found it was in total silence, broken only by needed words. When they reach the surface they see a field full of cattle. Dastrun walked over to them, and they cam to him as well. They all seemed to like him very well, and they probably saw him as familiar. He petted their heads, and a lot of them begun to nuzzle him. He walked back down the path to go to Valen, he had just the thing to help with that rock.
As Dastrun went off with Soolaire, Valen reassessed the situation. "Maybe if I..." he muttered, staring at the Star embeded in the cliff face. He bent down and began sketching a rough outline in the dirt. Unable to get it right, he threw up his hands in frustration and wiped it out with his foot. Spotting Gideon alone, Valen called over to him. "Hey, Gideon! Think you could help me out here?"
After a few minutes of discussion, Valen and Gideon were able to create a plan for a gyroscopic cage that would surround the Star, allowing it to roll on its own while being directed by the cattle. After several more minutes, the two had the contraption constructed.
"Now for the Star itself..." Valen approached the base of the cliff. The Star was lodged around 10 feet above him. Sighing, Valen clapped his hands once, took out his spellbook, and leafed through to the spell he rarely got to use. "Boom," he said, unleashing a shockwave in a 15-foot cube around him. The energy slammed into the cliff, crumbling it. He stepped casually out of the way as the Star rolled down the rubble and onto level ground. "Now to see if Dastrun has brought any friends."
Joining Valen and Gideon, John starts saying: I agree with Soolaire that this creatures need to be studied and that we need to take it to the city or even chart a transport to the capital. I might also be able to ask the Lord of Light for strength in aiding our mission, but I think we might need a lot more help than the livestock the Kobolds have taken from the town. Maybe we will have to go to the town and come back with more help.
Still looking at the giant star in front of them, John had an ideal that might be useful later on, turning to Soolaire: Soolaire, your blades are a creation from your on resolve and probably a gift from the Keeper of Justice, or as you call Him, the Father-Dragon, right? Do you think you could take a small "chip" of the star stuff? Nothing big, just a couple of inches in diameter?
Looking at the star-thing John tries to memorize any distinctive detail of it, specially the place where Soolaire strikes it to try and get the piece of it loose.
Soolaire was reluctant to journey with Dastrun, alone. The man was volatile, and seemed to hold some sort of grudge against him. An honest mistake. How am I supposed to know someone who has the face of a bull isn't actually related to them? Apes and humans being related seemed even more far-fetched than that. He saw though how one could mistake his kind with that of these starbeasts, so decided it was bests to put it behind them. The journey outwards towards the herd some silent, only broken by small bits of forced conversation between the two. There wasn't so much a tension, as there was an awkwardness. Like two people who both knew they were wrong, but refused to apologize to the other.
Finding the herd was relatively easy, as they were all gathered in a large field. Soolaire counted thirty of them in total. "This should provide ample strength to get that star's core rolling and on its way to Arkmunster." Dastrun nodded in understanding and moved to gather the herd up, while Soolaire patiently waited. He couldn't help but smile, noticing how easily Dastrun took to the cows. They even seemed to nuzzle and cuddle with him. Looks like I was right after all. He chose to say nothing, unsure of if Dastrun had some sort of mental connection, and could cause the cattle to stampede towards him. He could teleport away easily enough and avoid them, but they needed the cattle to haul the star's core. That was more important than Soolaire proving himself right, or so he thought.
From Soolaire's perspective, Dastrun seemed to be in better spirits, surrounding by the cattle. I suppose it's easier to be happy when everything around you like you. They arrived with the cattle shortly after the strange contraption was constructed by Valen and Gideon. "What in the Father-Dragon's name is that?" Soolaire said as he gazed upon it. Making no attempt to try and understand it, his pondering was quickly interrupted by John. "Soolaire, your blades are a creation from your on resolve and probably a gift from the Keeper of Justice, or as you call Him, the Father-Dragon, right? Do you think you could take a small "chip" of the star stuff? Nothing big, just a couple of inches in diameter?" He shook his head and responded, "No, my sunfangs don't work like that. As manifestations of both my will and the will of the Father-Dragon, they can only damage things with intellectual capabilities. And even then, it's not so much physical damage, as it is mental damage that they cause. You'll note that my blows against the kobolds never severed any limbs or caused decapitation, as Dastrun's assault did. Rather, it was the dilated pupils, or bleeding from the eyes, that was the result of my assault on them. Such effects were not apparent on the starbeasts, but they fell, nevertheless."
After leading the cattle to Valen, Dastrun retraces the steps he made while looking for loot. He comes across the four corpses that used to be guards. He takes out his handaxe and begins to chop at their necks. After all of the heads are severed, he gathers them up and walks back to the group. He unceremoniously dumps them in front of them. "Take some fangs if you want" he says, while ripping the biggest fang from the head that seemed to have the the highest rank amoung the corpses. (He then waits to see if anyone want a fang. when the people that want to take a fang, take one, or if no one wants any, he gathers the heads up.)
Valen sighed as Dastrun decapitated the already dead guards. "I know I'm probably one to talk here, but that seems almost unnecessary. They're already dead, and we didn't really help kill them, so the trophy-taking process is kind of... moot, I guess. I'll pass, but thank you for your generosity, Dastrun," he replied, regarding Dastrun's suggestion to take kobold fangs. "On the other hand, we've done our job, so we should head back soon." With that, Valen went over to discern the spells within the other gems. "Let's see..." He started with the obsidian one first. A familiar feeling came to him, telling him that this one was the Sword Burst spell (cantrip). The quartz one he knew had Enlarge/Reduce inside- "Something to save for another day, I suppose," Valen muttered, glancing over at the cattle. The two lapis lazuli ones had Arms of Hadar and Armor of Agathys, both of which Valen had never used, but had read about. A few more to save for another day, then.
The quartz spell gem, which held Enlarge/Reduce, might be needed to get the ball rolling- literally. Valen murmered the release algorithm, and placed the gem upon the Star. He sighed again, disappointed that he had to let it go so soon. "Oh well... Dastrun, I promise I'll make you taller one day." The Star now easily rolled into the makeshift "cart" Valen had constructed with Gideon.
Chance watches Valen examining some crystals and can definitely see the glow of magic upon them. The Quartz had definitely some kind of transmutation magic, whereas the lapis lazuli ones had Abjuration and Conjuration magic upon them.
Valen, those crystals look positively enchanting. The Quartz has some type of transmutation magic about it, whilst the blue ones have some type of warding arcana and summoning magics. Sadly I cant Identify, but I ken that you most most probably have that spell within your Songbook.
Dastrun, thank you for the offer of a fang, but its not necessary for me. Though I ken that these trophies may somehow enhance your luck.
As soon as the group is all together, they head out from the kobold lair, towards the path that Dastrun and Soolaire found. The added load and extended path adds a day to the group's travel time in returning to the village, so they arrive five days after leaving town. Upon reaching town, you each receive 100 gold pieces, and the villagers get to work constructing a more efficient method of transportation for the star. One young child (no older that 5) walks up to the group and presents you with 5 copper pieces. "This is for rescuing my mummy."
