Seeing a glimmer of an opening in the game, Arvel composes himself and speaks to the Sergeant.
"Zen my companions and I will continue to 'old our tongues until you 'ave 'ad a shance to interview zee other witnesses. Particularly zee librarian in question. Merci."
A member of the watch brings the librarian in question over. He looks like he would rather be anywhere else. He starts to point at Grady, and thinks better of it. "I...I must have fallen."
Dwindlejoy offers "I have told Durnan time and time again that he should consider a rail, or at least stop buffing the floor so cleanly around the pit."
"Ah yes, we all know how civic minded you lot are," Leilani snorts.
Grimsdatch rubs his temples and nods to Arvel. "Look, i respect you do not wish to level accusations, but I know these two from way back. If these...brooms...were a distraction, then I need to know the target - else I cannot prevent the inevitable next attempt. We are almost cleaned up here. If you know anything, now is the time."
Anybody at the table can give me a perception check
"Well, since zee alleged target of zee alleged assualt which was allowed by zee alleged distraction has expressed a wish for anonymity, I believe we 'ave no recourse but to say zat zis was indeed a case of mistaken intentions.
I for one will be remaining to 'elp wiz zee clean up efforts. I suspect my companions will do zee same. I also suspect les misters Grady and Dwindlejoy 'ave business elsewhere.
Sergeant, would you be willing to 'ave a few of your officers remain and ovairsee zee efforts and ensure fair play? I am sure zee cartsman and Durnan will be wanting full reports so zat mediation can take place between zee Fellowship of Carters and Coachmen and zee Fellowship of Innkeepers, discussing damages, appealing zee fines, saving zee reputations of all involved and so on..."

"Ladies and Gentlebeings," a voice rings out from the near stage. Looking up, you see that Rusty Bighatand the performers have actually done a bang-up job of cleaning up the mess. There is still a carriage and a hole in the wall, but all debris has been swept, and even the traces of fire have been more or less removed. "That was an...unexpected surprise for all of us, but, let me assure you, the show must go on!" he concludes with a flourish.
"Err, as soon as the noble man and women of the watch conclude their business, of course," he adds hurriedly.
Aerys casually grabs a random mug of ale and drink it until empty. When he sets it back on the table he "accidentally" knocks it under the table. "Oops! Clumsy me!"
Rue is not interested in Rusty's announcement. In fact, he seems to have lost interest in looking at any people - at least in terms of eye-contact. Master of deception and subtlety, Rue seems to have developed an interest in everyones' footwear. Particularly, he's looking back and forth between Grady and Cassandra's feet.
Jun lets out a deep sigh at the librarian's statement and shakes his head as his fellows' attention seems to wane. He sets down the now empty cup of ale and addresses the watchman.
"I swear by my sword that I witnessed this one," pointing at Grady, "shove this innocent man into the well as he tried to make his way to the bar in the commotion but was blocked off by those of us making our way to the stage to help with the fire. I reacted as I deemed necessary to prevent anyone else from being endangered by him, shoving him into the well as well. He managed to deftly climb back up, unaided, with fury in his eyes, and I further engaged him with my blade to keep his movement contained while my friend Cassie helped his victim climb out of the well."
Jun points to each mentioned individual as needed to clarify who he is refering to.
"As my tablemates managed to end the threat of the broomsticks, Cassie and I managed to convince these two to cease whatever they were attempting in the chaos, or face more lethal force as the chaos died down. It was only a few moments after that that you all arrived, sir." As to what they were attempting exactly, I can only guess. But I could not let them endanger innocent lives in pursuit of it."

Hearing Jun speak up and give his account, Cassie nods her agreement.
"Aye, as he says," she speaks up herself. "I was tryin' ta help deal with the brooms an' the fire when I saw this one..."she nods to the librarian, "...hangin' from the edge for his life. I helped 'im up, then saw that fellow..."she indicates Dwindlejoy, "...moving aggressively towards another patron in all the ruckus, so I made a point to deter him."
"So he did. But I do find myself wondering how statements might change if the Watchful Order of Magist were to get involved in this. Those broomsticks were obviously enchanted in some way. Surely, their expertise might be useful in this circumstance."
Jun speaks loudly enough that half the tavern or more could likely hear him.

"You're done when I say you are done," says Grimsdatch, nodding from Grady to Jun, "and I find this one's testimony compelling. Now, I don't know if you had anything to do with the crash here, or what your game is, but I have heard enough." He motions at the rest of you. "If you have anything you want to ask of them, be quick about it, because these two are coming with us."
"Il y a un papier dans le coffre de cette personne," Rue says, having given up interest in Cassandra's feet and now blinking idly at Grady. "Est-ce important, pensez-vous?"
Google says "There's a paper in this person's boot. Is that important, do you think?"

From the other side of the room, you can hear Rusty Bighat sputtering to some other guards something about "poor, burned stage" and "compensation"
On hearing the cowardly lout of a halfling's words, Cassie is SORELY tempted to restart the fire on the stage just to see what he would do.
Fortunately she knows that would NOT be helpful in the present situation, so she abstains.

((Yikes. Nice deception check from Aerys...))
((Just to clarify, Aerys is going under the table to look at something))

Master of deception and subtlety, Rue seems to have developed an interest in everyones' footwear. Particularly, he's looking back and forth between Grady and Cassandra's feet.
Cassandra is wearing a pair of well-made but also well-traveled, knee-high brown leather boots.
She couldn't care less about Bighat's announcement and pointedly keeps her back to the stage.

"Trust me, my dear, if I were to make an aggressive move, you could scarcely deter me." adds Dwindlejoy
