If SP thinks that his companions are going to get ambushed, he will quickly head towards the room with the goblins and attempt to suprise them and attack before they can fire upon his friends.
Seeing SP run off, Dihek'nir whispers after him, "I'm sorry! Kill them quickly!" (giving him a bardic inspiration: (1d6). For 10 minutes, the creature can add it to one ability check, attack roll, or saving throw. This can be added after seeing the roll, but before knowing the outcome.)
Looking around and seeing the danger being the goblins he actually sprints off after SP, trying to take the head off a goblin if at all possible (in that case: Attack: 10 Damage: 8)
SP sees one goblin sitting against a wall, there's one arrow slit above him, this room is connected by an open doorway to another room, that presumably has another goblin in it. I'll give SP one hit with ADV, and then we'll roll Initiative.
Those of you in the other room will have to follow SP or the goblins will have 3/4 cover.
SP will move to the goblen near the arrow slit, quickly and efficiently pulling out both of his short-swords and delivering a hard slash on the unsuspecting goblin
(you said one strike so I assume I cannot attack with both swords)
Attack: 7 Damage: 9 Forgot advantage... 9 = attack again
“Spirit. In every language in all the Realms, surface and Underdark, in every time and every place, the word has a ring of strength and determination. It is the hero's strength, the mother's resilience and the poor man's armor. It cannot be broken and it cannot be taken away.”
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
SP will attempt to plunge both short swords deep into the goblin
attack 1Attack: 18 Damage: 6
bardic inspiration 2
attack 2 Attack: 10 Damage: 4
it says I manipulated because I added the bardic inspiration after the fact. please add that number to the first attack, the second attack I know misses

If a fight ensues Gendal will cast fire bolt attack 7 damage 7.
When I open the door how many do I see? Do I get advantage because I am surprising them?
