SP, Dihek'nir and Karugur let their new allies that they're heading to the Yawning Portal to deliver Floon to his worried friend who has promised them a hefty reward for his safe return, and the two recently freed adventures decide to tag along.
As you all enter the tavern you see Volo sitting at a table drinking by himself at a back table. As he sees you approach with Floon he stands up quickly and runs over and begins embracing each of you in turn. "You've found him! Thank you so much!"
"SO I think the money that was going to go to the dead guy that is dead that I barley remember should get split up between those of us that lived... also we found these two guys down there also!" SP will say in his monotone voice.
"The money.... yes about that..." He gulps and looks around at all of you. "I confess that I have but few coins to spare. But! Never let it be said that Volo reneges on a promise. Allow me to present something much more valuable.” He holds out a scroll tube. “This is a deed to a remarkable property here in Waterdeep! It yours! We’ll of course need a magistrate to witness the transfer of ownership. I will go ahead and arrange a meeting with one after you’ve inspected the estate and deemed it satisfactory." and he smiles at all of you hopefully.
Karugar harumpfs and says, "There's no money? Ughh.. this is bugbear shite. Forget this I'm moving to Neverwinter to live with my cousin.." and he walks off to go get a drink, never to be seen again, probably.
Kintu doesn't have much to offer in response to getting coins or a deed. Neither more valuable than the life given back to him by his new friends... that and the scroll he can't wait to study in length at a later time. For now he'd go along with whatever comes before him, excited for all the prospects
Dolf is at a loss. A few days ago he was starting to try and make a life for himself adventuring and after being taken hes here... Sorry about your friend back there. You mind if I tag along for awhile?
Volo looks around at the four of you, stroking his chin, "There's something different about the four of you, did you get haircuts or something? Ah well, that deed is to a place called Trollskull Manor over in the North ward. I bought it to do research on my next book, because it was rumored to be haunted, but it didn't seem to be." he chuckles a bit, "Is this payment acceptable?"
"Dihek'nir and I can probably let you guys crash at our new house if you like. I don't mind if you both tag along... I am sure there will be more money to be made." SP will say looking towards his companions.
"I would certainly enjoy accompanying you to a place that might be haunted. I'd also like to pay you all back for saving my life back there." Kintu offered
"Excellent, I can take you over there in the morning and I'll arrange for the Magistrate to meet us there and make sure it's all notarized and so forth."
Ranaer adds, "Please gentleman, let me get you a room for the night, it's the least I could do." and he lets Floon take a seat and goes to see about renting you a room for the night.
Floon stands to shake SP and Dihek'nir's hands, "Thank you, for saving me. I don't know how much longer I could have lasted."
Not knowing anything about Floon, Volo, the mission, or anything really, Kintu would listen rather intently while muttering slightly to himself and twisting the whistle from earlier in a single hand. identify
Its a whistle made from gold-colored wood. When you blow it you can't hear anything, but it gives any animals within earshot disadvantage for one round. It can only work on a particular type of creature once.
Floon checks behind him to make sure that Ranaer is out of earshot before responding to Dihek'nir, "It was all very confusing, Ranaer and I were jumped from behind by the Zhentarim, they didnt really care about me but were questioning Ranaer about the whereabouts of some 'stone' that was important to them. Then these Kenku folk broke in and killed all Zhentarim and grabbed me, thinking I was Ranaer. They took me to that awful robed Half-Orc man. The line of questioning was similar, something to dow with Ranaer's father and the location of this mystery stone. But they realized after a while that I was not actually Ranaer, but the questioning continued, I truely believe if you had been any later I would not be alive."
It all seems to match up with what you know so far, and what Ranaer has told you. There might be more to it but it's hard to tell, Floon looks like he's been through a lot.
Kintu thought curiously of how to make the best use of the whistle before tucking it away for later, then returned to listening in on the conversation.
"Pardon me, I know I don't have much right to ask, but this stone seems rather important. Is there nothing more you can tell us or would I be better off asking Raener."

SP says "I get his room and my room in our new house!"
Dihek'nir is very excited to see Volo again and to be alive in general, but this sure is unexpected.
"What property? Why? What are we going to do with that..?"

sounds good. I'll follow whenever you're ready to go

Dihek'nir finally starts to grasp the situation. He asks Floon, "What questions did they ask? What was it that they were after?"

It's the Whistle of Imad'eitup,

Dihek'nir is not sure if he believes all of it or not.. (insight check if I may: 2).
