You return to the church, carrying the box. Father Lucian waves you in quickly. He returns to the door, pokes his head out the door, looks both directions to see if you had been seen or followed, closes the door and locks them both. His face is ecstatic. "You have done it! You found the bones and have returned them!" He runs his eyes. "I almost cannot believe they are back! I had almost given up hope."
Zander, he looks you up and down, then looks at your companions, really seeing you all for maybe the first time since you returned, as he was previously so focused on the box instead. "Oh my. My apologies. You do not look well at all. It must have been some fight to get these back. The ritual will take a mere hour to perform and it is something I can perform myself. Thank you. Rest, please. Afterward, I would like to hear the story of what happened, but at the moment, I must perform this ritual as soon as possible."
"What was happening in the town square?" Wezroth asked as he handed the box over. He'd been to towns who frequently put criminals in stocks, in fact, he'd been to towns where they routinely burned "witches". He had accepted that there was often nothing he could do. Not without causing even more death. He clenched his teeth as he remembered the bodies as they fell to the ground, and the blood on his hands.
"Well, the people in the stocks are there for being realists I think. I guess it's against the law to say that the current state of affairs is not very good. They want to be ignorant of any bad happenings."

Wijen gives a look of disappointment. "It is unfortunately common to ignore a problem. If only these people could understand how much fault lies in that action. So many people need a sensei."
"It's not the people that are blind. They know what's going on. You can smell the despair and the fear on those who live here. And the garlic. " he said. "I'm going to the blacksmith to see if he'll silver my sword. or if he has a silvered sword in stock. Are any of you coming?" He asked.
Overhearing you, before he prepares the ritual, Father Lucian says, "We do not have a lot of space here, and our town has a lovely inn, but after what you have done for us, we can definitely find you a place to rest as long as you need. The doors will remain locked and you will be safe until the ritual is complete, at which point the bones will take over protection. Just a reminder, even without the bones, this is still holy ground."
(It's up to y'all whether you want to split the party like that or all take a rest, short or long is also up to y'all.)
((I'm really not sure if it's a great idea to split the party. But at the same time it takes time to silver a weapon, so we could set the blacksmith to work and then go back and rest. ))
Wezroth took Lae's mace. "then it's decided, I'm going to the smith. " He said. He walked out of the church and began to go towards the blacksmith, Lae's mace slung over his shoulder.
(Ok)

Wezroth would prefer to get this over with before something awful happens. but if we need a long rest we can try that.
"Father Lucain, how long will it take to perform the ritual to ensure the safety of the town, and do you need help?"

((not sure if we're at the church yet))

Wijen nods. "I also need to look for water. I am an amphibious being far from home."
"We are severely hurt as a group. We need to rest before we do anything, including going shopping. Some of us nearly died."

"if it's really that bad then we can rest now. " Wezroth said. "Do you want to find an inn or should we just rest here?" He asked.
Lae removes his mace from his shoulder, "Will you see if the smith can also silver this? I'll give you coin, but I must rest."
((Can I make a run to the smith while they rest or should we rest first?))

(That's true, we might be ok to take a quick walk, try to get some things silvered and then long rest.)

Wijen follows hoping to find some water to soak in
I guess we'll wait here then, says Zander to the rest.

Lae collapses on a pew (or whatever there is to lay on) and passes out... (intending to take a long rest)
