Gargan
Chuckling at Cloudfurs ingenuity Gargan shakes his head in amusement before saying to the Tabaxi “Whatever happens at least we can find a good use for him!”.
After that he would then move to explore the room behind the double doors, despite Yazara’s request.
Searching the room behind the doors doesn't really reveal too much more than you've already seen. The pillar in the center of the room stands there with an indent in it, and that's all there is in the main room. There are a couple more small sleeping areas off the room, as well as another room with a dead goblin. It's a bit smokey in here as some of the smoke from the first fire Dori set seeped through the arrow slit.
There is one last door that leads into a small hallway ending in a secret (from the other side) door that leads back out into the main sewer tunnel you came in from.
When you open that door you do see that across the way and down a bit to the left there looks to be a small gap in the wall.
(OOC - so we've found an exit back to the sewers and then back in to the city? I say we get Floon back to Volo and Renaer back to his family as well and regroup back at the Yawning Portal)
Gargan when you initially entered the central room, on the south wall in front of the pillar there was a large opaque black doorway open on the south wall, about 8' tall by 4' wide. As you are looking at it, the doorway shrinks and blinks out of existence. Also the size of the indentation on the pillar looks to be similar in size to the small orb that the mind flayer was carrying.
After making a mental note about the orb relating to the marking on the pillar where the mind flayer disappeared Gargan returns to the others. As he approaches them he says "I have found another route back to the sewers, one that does not involve fire. Once Yazara returns we should choose a route back and get our friend here to the nearest temple. Should we be taking this one with us, perhaps for the guards?" He says indicating the unconscious duergar on the floor.
"Without proof he has done anything wrong - we appear to be the transgressors who have invaded his home and assaulted him....or maybe he is a wanted criminal and they will give us a bag of money for his capture!"
And he'll go over and drag the dwarf over to Dori and tie him up under the goliaths other arm which he pats reassuringly
"Do not worry Dori, that basilisk claw around your neck will protect you until we can undo whatever has been done to you...." and he'll smile
The room you went into literally looks like the cellar of either a house or business. The door is nearly invisible from that side - it's clearly supposed to be a hidden entrance to this hideout. The stairs go up and end in a wooden door. It could be the cellar of a guild members house or business, it could be someone who doesn't even know it's there, or it could be Xanathar's basement. You have no idea.

Sizan Sidrosin
While Sizan did entertain the thought for a brief moment, knowing -- or at least believing it to be a guild base or a front similar to the warehouse. But just in case, he takes a careful peek outside just to make sure the coast was at least temporarily clear before making his way back down, and giving a report.
"Okay, so here's the-...." Sizan trails off and just stares at not only what happened Dori in the short time he had been gone, but the fact that the double doors had been reopened. "I'm going to die of aneurism." He mutters to himself at one point, pinching the bridge of his nose, and squeezing his eyes shut. "So. I found a genuine way to the surface. I would follow that up with we should avoid drawing further attention to ourselves, but-..." He gestures to Dori's situation. "Something tells me that ship has long since sailed."He looks to Cloudfur. "Clever use of you the grey one. Truly. But let us be off to that temple of Tyr, yes? Through the cellar, that is. For there are far, FAR worse things down here, and I'd personally want to avoid testing our lucky further down a man as we are." At that, Sizan will lead the way out.

Sizan, you quietly push open the door at the top of the stairs and peek inside. The door is at the end of a small hallway. There is a doorway off to the right down the hall with light coming from it. The end of the hall leads to an open sitting area down a ways, with an open area to the left, also with light coming from it. There's a window at the front but it's dark out at this point so you can't see outside. You hear some chattering coming from that direction that sounds as if it's a couple or a family having a meal.
As you are standing there, perfectly still and silent, a halfling woman appears from around the corner carrying a plate. She walks through into the other doorway (the kitchen, you're guessing), and doesn't notice you. You close the door silently and climb back down to the rest of the group.

Sizan Sidrosin
Whether the others followed him or not, Sizan had no intention of backing down on his course. He puts some distance between him the others, nevertheless, as he makes his way once more upstairs. He makes his way down the hall towards the kitchen if he can do so without being up until then, he will do so. Once inside, and assuming the halfling he saw from before is there, but hopefully not paying attention, he announces himself by clearing his throat.
"Pardon the intrusion, and do not be frightened. I seem to be in something of an unfortunate situation. Care to be of assistance?"
Otherwise, if its clear he won't be able to avoid the people in the sitting area(?) across the way, he will clear his throat to grab their attention. OR, if no one is in there by the time he gets there, then... he'd have to think about that one.

Sizan: As you walk around the corner you see two adult halflings and one younger one sitting at a dinner table. The carcass of a chicken adorns the center of the table, along with some trimmings, and half empty bottle of wine. Silence falls over the room when you, a somewhat unique looking individual, walks into their dinning room from a direction that no one should be able to come from without having come in through the front door.
The female and the child stop suddenly, silent - her literally in the middle of chewing. The father springs up, runs to the fireplace behind him and grabs the fireplace poker, runs back and jumps up on the table, waving it at you. "Aye an unfortunate situation indeed. Whatever you want with my family you'll not have it! I assure you I'm a trained .. blade master .. and I'll have yer head!"
He's putting on a bold act, but you can tell the man is a) terrified and b) Not trained in anything except perhaps how to barbecue a mean roasted chicken. Despite that you have the decisive impression that he would fight to the death to protect his family if he had to.
The rest of you: Yazara has walked off in the direction of the NE room, seeming quite intent at avoiding the central room. Dori is still breathing, perhaps a bit heavier now that he has a Deurgar and a gobling strapped up under his arms. Smoke is actually starting to roll into the room from the hallway, the fire likely having started to consume the door on this side of it. What are you doing?
Dori is still holding a torch, clenched tightly in one hand. The other his axe. A Deurgar and Goblin nestled under each arm. His eyes unblinking, breathing sporadic...
"I guess we should follow then." Turning to Raener and Floon he offers for them to move ahead of him by gesturing with his arm. "After you, I shall take up the rear."
Yazara could feel a sigh coming on, but manages to suppress it. After raising his hands slowly but assuredly up in the air in a surrendering motion, Sizan continues his dryly spoken plea. "Under the code legal you are well within your right to do just so, and more. I, however, have no interest in conflict. My only interest is making sure both myself and potential a few companions pass through here as swiftly as possible without disturbing you and yours more than necessary. I thought it only fair to alert of you this potential eventuality as to avoid a far bigger freight. Now if it is all the same, I will be taking my leave."
Yazara starts to move towards what he hoped was an exit, but stops short. "I also wish to apologize in advance for any future disturbance from the local watch, as they would be interested to know of a secret entryway into a criminal organization's hideout that just so happens to pass through here... But, if you wish me not to report this, shall we call things square and pretend neither saw the other?"
(Creepy!? I resent that. >:| He has been nothing but pleasant this whole time)

The halfling lowers his 'weapon' slowly. "Wait .. what? What secret entryway? How did you get in? Who are you talking about? We're just an innocent family here and don't want any trouble. I'm a blacksmith and work at a shop down the road. Who are you?"
