"I've seen a lot of weird stuff, but a purple dome over a nearly sunk building tops the list. Before today I would have said the tail on my cousin was the weirdest, but this is definitely weirder." Garth said, staring at the building with wide eyes.
"I think we should hole up nearby where we can keep an eye on that place for a few hours, and see if anyone comes and goes, and if there is anyone guardin the place. Plus, maybe we'll be able to find out where that fragrant stench is coming from. What say you?" He said, glancing at his companions.
Twig eyes the violet dome, trying to determine if the field extended below into the filthy water. She then looks around, trying to find any particularly tall buildings with flat roofs, or barring that, any buildings with windowsills or other features to ease climbing.
Twig can't quite see into the murky water near the dome from her vantage point because of the glare of the sun high overhead, but she does see a building around the same height as the glowing one directly to their left. She can't quite tell from her vantage point, but it doesn't look to have a peaked roof.

Twig nods in agreement with Garth, “You wait here and see what you can see. I’m going to see if there is another vantage I can look from. Would you mind directing us to that building?” Twig points at a nearby partially sunken building. Once the side of the boat is bumping into the specified building Twig attempts to scale it in order to investigate from the roof, looking nervously down into the murky water.
Twig sneaks onto the roof of the building in order to scout the area and the glowing dome & building better. She also looks for adjacent buildings that are very near (jumping distance) or rope bridges connecting. She looks to see if there is anything or anyone worth noting, and to try and determine the source of that horrible smell. She also looks down into the water from this high vantage, to see if there is anything visible in its mysterious depths.
After the boat is next to the building, Twig springs up the side of the building. She climbs so quickly and effortlessly that it looks like she's flying.
For Twig: (You other folks can't see what she sees from her vantage point, so this is just for Twig.)
From her vantage point above, she can see that the dome around the glowing building (the building is a little over 20 feet away from her, across the water) does indeed extend below the surface of the water. She also discovered the source of the smell. Hundreds of what looked to be dead bodies were pushing themselves against the dome, standing on the street beneath the water. They were all pushing against the translucent dome, but couldn't pass through it as the bird had. The undead seem to notice the presence of the boat and Twig at the same time and a few dozen of them break free of the group and start moving toward them, still submerged. They move with a purpose, shambling beneath the surface of the water, moving toward the group. What do you do?

Twig hisses, fur standing on end, claws extended. She turns and looks down the edge of the building with wild, panicked eyes. She shouts at full volume, “COR, GARTH, INTOTHEDOME. NOW!!!”
Without waiting for a reply Twig turns to face the glowing purple dome. Pacing back enough to get a running start, Twig sprints, leaping off the edge of the roof and towards the glowing purple windows. She makes the leap without issue thanks to her Feline Agility and extends her claws to try and grip wherever she lands.
Twig flew through the air, passing cleanly through the violet dome, and landed on the wall of the building, claws firmly stuck into the wood of the building. She is unhurt, but she is at the "ground" floor of the building, just a few feet above the water.

Immediately with Twig's shout, Cor casts his Shape Water and propels the ship towards the dome. He then braces himself to jump ship if he needs to but he is focus everything on pushing the ship towards the dome.
Cor propels the boat through the water, much quicker than before due to the urgency in Twig's voice. An arm reaches up from out of the water and grips the edge of the boat for a moment. The flesh is rotting off of the arm, however, and it quickly loses its grip.
(I'm writing this bit in for you, Garth. Hope it fits. If not, I'll take it out.) Garth, initially content to let Cor move the boat along, quickly picks up an oar and begins furiously paddling to the dome once he sees the arm.
More undead bodies begin to surge out of the water and try to grasp the boat, but the skiff moves quickly, passing through the violet dome and into calmer waters. The undead are still pushing against the barrier, throwing themselves futilely against its surface. You can see the fury in their faces as they struggle against the magic that you so easily penetrated.
The group finds themselves together at the "2nd" floor of the building, just above the water, on what used to be a patio but was now functioning as a dock. The building used to be a three story house. It looked to be quite narrow, probably consisting of one large room per floor or two small rooms. The door from the patio to the inside is right behind Twig. Violent flashes of violet light pulse through the windows on the floor above as the group catches their breath.
(OOC: You also all received 25 XP for not getting eaten by the undead horde.)
Panting from the sudden adrenaline rush and frantic rowing, Garth eyes the undead beating on the purple dome. "Now I don't consider myself a constable, but I think I found those missing people from Queens Street. I think we better look around and see what is keeping that dome up, and make sure that it keeps on working."
Garth got out of the boat and walked to the doorway leading instead. He pulled out his sword, and warily looked inside.
Garth takes a look inside the building and sees a dark room with a bed, a couch, and a small stove. The room is pretty dark, but you can tell no one is inside. There is a staircase at the rear of the room that leads up and down. The way leading down has since been boarded up, but the way above is clear and a ghostly purple light emanates from the stairs.

Twig nods in agreement, eyes still a bit wild and tail twitching. Still leery, she looks around the room, to see if anything appears out of place.
Seeing that the room is empty, she speaks to Garth and Cor in a quiet voice, mostly muffled by the water sounds outside. “What I want to know is how are they becoming undead? And what is drawing them here? When I was on the roof I could see that there are hundreds of them all pushing underwater to get into this dome. Is this perhaps their origin? Or,” Twig shudders “Is this just the only food around?”
“I am going to see what I can hear from the stairs”
Creeping around Garth, Twig heads towards the stairs. She stops at the bottom, listening, smelling, paw high on the wall to feel for vibrations and looking to see what information she could glean.
Twig walks over to the bottom of the stairs and tries to discover anything about their whereabouts or what might be happening on the floor above them, but can't determine what might be going on above. She does see that the stairs open up to a normal room, so far as she can tell from her vantage point. No corpses piled at the top or barricades or doors, just a normal staircase.
Meanwhile, the whole group can see the violet light reflecting along the surface of the walls and casting shadows. You can't determine what the source of the moving light might be from below, but it definitely isn't a candle.
Twig quietly returns to her companions. “I couldn’t see or hear anything. I think the only way to determine what’s going on up there is to either go up or wait for someone to come down. And waiting might be more dangerous than it appears,” she said quietly, leaning to look towards the unseen horde she knew was lurking below. “I say we go in, cautiously, but with weapons drawn. We do not know if we shell meet friend or foe. Any objections, gentlemen?”
Twig stared at her companions, waiting for their reply, curiosity inching her towards the glowing light above the staircase.

"I think you have a sound plan. Plus, anything to put some distance between us and that smell." Garth said, crinkling his nose.
Stepping cautiously into the room, and trying to move quietly, he reached the stairs and waited for his companions. While waiting, he looked around the room once more from this new angle, attempting to see if he missed anything from his earlier observation.
The group climbs the stairs and steps into the room. The first thing that catches their eyes is a glowing purple sphere on a table. It almost seems as if a storm is raging within the glass ball, clouds churning amidst flashes of light. The next thing they notice is the man whose hands are poised above the ball. He looks to be a human, no older than 25. He has black hair that hangs a bit below his shoulders and is wearing a decidedly filthy set of robes. His concentration is locked on the ball in front of him. His eyes are sunken, and it looks like he hasn’t slept in days.
The next thing you see is a figure that would stand out in any gathering. He’s not quite as tall as Garth, but it looked like he had a lot more muscle on him than the 6’5 soldier with them. The figure is wearing chain mail without sleeves, showing off hugely muscled arms that probably got that way by swinging the large warhammer in his hand. Looking closely, you can see the word “Justice” etched into the head of the warhammer. The shield on his other arm is adorned with the symbol of a rain cloud and three lightning bolts with the word “Law” engraved below. He is wearing a red headband over his forehead, accentuating his spiked faux hawk.
The big man was standing slightly in front of the dirty one, facing the stairs and your group; hammer and shield ready at the first sign of hostility. Without looking up, the dirty man spoke, “This is much more difficult than it appears, so I would ask that you come back tomorrow. Better yet, come back never."
The big man lifted his shield and said, "Who are you people?"
