Twig disburses the coins and looks at her companions “it’s getting late. And I’m hungry. I’ve been staying in an inn these past few days, the Frenzied Hare. the food is good, and the common room is full of lovely folk. I think we ought to have a bite and tell a tale. Then we can be off to Lord Dorsalor, and our other tasks,” Twig said, nodding towards Rad.
(If the party nods along and accepts Twig's plan, that's what you all do. Let me know if you do that or decide to do something else. Also, if you do go to the inn and spin a yarn or two, do you want to roleplay that out or skip ahead to visiting Lord Arbane?)

After a good meal and several re-tellings of their tale, Twig looks to her companions and asks, unconcerned “Alright, I am going to go see Lord Dorsalor now. Am I going alone or accompanied? Rad is still off getting supplies, so I want to make the most of our time” Twig looks from Cor to Garth, waiting on their replies.
"Definitely, I don't want to leave you all to try and convince him not to be mad at us. Plus if he kills you two, I don't want him to be hunting me without me knowing." Cor says nonchalantly as he heads towards the door. I really hope we don't die. I should probably pray. Who do you pray to in times like this? I wonder if that God dad told me about is real. What was their name. Selune? Oh who cares.
You go to look for transportation that will take you to Brightwood Forest, but no one is willing to go in that direction. You ask around for mounts, but the prices are just too high. It looks like you'll be traveling on foot. From asking around, it will take you about 10 days to reach the edge of the forest, though everyone you've spoken to tells you to avoid the place.
Do you do anything else while they're visiting Arbane?
For Twig, Cor, and Garth:
The group leaves the inn and heads to Lord Arbane's manor. At the door, they're greeted by a surly Gordon. He looks to be displeased by something, and you have a pretty good inkling that you may be the cause of it. "Come in, then. Follow me." Gordon leads you to the study where you were given the map and stands by the door at attention.
Lord Arbane Dorsalor enters the study with a surprising amount of energy for someone his age. "Excellent work. I am quite surprised, to be honest. I see that I am now able to scry the location again. Well done. Also," Arbane remarks in a conversational tone, before continuing, "WHERE THE HELL DID ALL THOSE ZOMBIES COME FROM!?" the old elf shouted with unrestrained fury, spittle flying from his lower lip across the room.

“About what are you surprised?” Twig tilts her head to one side in confusion “Not our competence, hopefully. As for the zombies I am afraid I don’t know. Graves, I assume? I’m quite surprised that you weren’t aware of them previously, as they were all outside of the apparently shielded magical area.” Twig stared hard at the old elf, trying to read his thoughts, but failing.
“As you requested, we investigated the area, found the source of the disturbance and cleared the disturbance for you to be able to scry the area. There was a stranger there with a magical shield to protect himself from the attacking zombies. With his help we were able to dispatch them, making the city much safer, and doing so in your name. We have been telling everyone we meet if your wisdom in sending us and what you have saved them from. Many are awaiting our return to hear of this meeting, in fact.”
"A stranger with a magical shield? Hm. Interesting. As for the zombies, I couldn't see them. They were there that whole time? Hmm... Interesting... They must have been beneath the water's surface. Fascinating... I see you don't exactly trust me. No matter. A little caution is smart. I'll be in touch. It's always nice to find capable individuals. Gordon has your payment." With that, Arbane sat down at the desk an looked deep in thought.
Gordon cleared his throat and gestured to the door.
(OOC: Unless someone has something else to say, I'm going to say you guys left with Gordon. If you want to ask more questions of Arbane, just let me know and we'll go back in time a bit and cover that.)
The party leaves the study and Gordon pulls out a leather bag from a drawer in the hallway and reluctantly extends it to you. Twig grabs the bag and her eyes go wide as her muscles compensate for the extra weight that she wasn't expecting. The bag must have weighed at least fifteen pounds. Gordon escorts you out of the manor without another word and softly closes the door.
(OOC: I retconned the money split from earlier. Instead of you each getting 9gp from the boat, all 36 went to Rad so he can buy supplies.)
Twig turns to the skinny half-elf, eyes him, shakes her head and turns to Garth. She smiles and hands him the very heavy, very uninteresting bag of gold. Speaking to the pair she asks “Back to the inn, then?” and begins walking, ready to change direction if one of her companions has other ideas.

What is wrong with the cat? Maybe she doesn't like me? Cor thinks to himself.
"I'm very ready to get out of here and go venture off to our certain deaths." Cor says jovially
"By the way, any of you guys believe him? He has a plausible excuse as to why he couldn't see the zombies. Maybe the water could interfere with the divination he was using."
Cor thinks to himself trying to see if he could remember any reason magic could have been interrupted by the water.
“I don’t know much of magic, but I am inclined to believe his words, with a pinch of catnip” Twig says, using a Tabaxi idiom that meant “with reservation”. “Besides, I’d recognize the face of curiosity anywhere “ she added grinning, referencing the way that Lord Arbane was deep in thought about what he had learned when they had left the manor.
"Please tell me you picked up some healing potions. I think the less dependant on your healing magic during a fight, the better. Otherwise," Garth pats the bag of coins Twig handed him, "I may need to make a stop before heading out of town."
"What did you get?" He asked, eying Rad with some curiosity.
"No healing potions. We don't have the coin for that." He empties out the bag and hands out the rations. "I got us 10 days of food rations each, this should be enough to get us there if we don't have any unexpected mishaps. This should also just be for backup, we should try to hunt and forage for everything that we can and save the rations for when we really need them." He also splits up the remaining 16 gold left over after purchasing the food. "Also no luck on any kind of wagon or horses. Looks like we're going to have to walk."
The sun has finally disappeared and the sky is fairly dark. The inn is crowded at this hour, laborers from the Docks gathering to drink and play darts or cards. Despite the crowd, you still manage to all be seated at a table for four while you talk and discuss what you plan to do next.

You have a pretty good idea that it's a forest. There are lots of trees. It's big. And the wood of the trees might be bright. But you have heard rumors that it's a dangerous place to visit and there's a reason nobody goes there anymore.
"You know what, I do recall something I might have heard once. I do believe the wood of that forest is bright." Cor says after a moment of contemplation.
