Beedo pats Vark on the shoulder, and while gesturing to Lukian gives a 'Hah, This Guy' look to him. Vark just shrugs and smirks. "Talk'n bout 'is majesty 'imself, boss of all boss, 'n meanest of 'e fookin mean, Maglubiyet! Ain't ya s'pose ta be 'n acolyte yerself? 'ez 'e god of gobs, big 'n small!"

Devin bows to Uncle Zeph. "That would be an honor and something I am most interested in! I thank you for the invitation."
At some time over the five days, Zephyros says to Devin "come and I will show you the control room." He looks over at Lukian and continues "perhaps you had better come as well?" He then takes them to the centre of the room and says "Suas". Immediately Devin and Lukian feel a lot lighter as they float up through the hole in the ceiling. They find themselves in a room with an 80-foot-high ceiling and tall, slender windows set with panes of stained glass. Furnishings include a giant-sized bed and an enormous wooden chest. Stone shelves protrude from the walls at heights of 20, 40, and 60 feet, and these shelves bear the weight of Zephyros’s vast collection of journals.
Floating 10 feet above the floor is a 7-foot-diameter sphere of thin, polished mithral with a large skye (cloud) rune embossed on its outer surface. Zephyros then touches the orb and you feel the castle come to a halt. It then slowly rotates in a clockwise direction.
Not able to help himself, Devin looks around intently at everything he sees as they float up and down (Perception 27).
Daring he asks permission to give the controls a try. If given the chance he'll ease the castle around a bit, a huge smile on his face.
As they float back down he keeps whispering out loud. "Amazing, just amazing."

Zephyros says "unfortunately the height of the Navigation Orb is fixed at a height of 10 feet off the ground. Some sort of anti-hijack device I suspect?"
"Ah, Maglubiyet." Lukian seems to consider for a moment. "So, you, in a sense, revere two masters? The Red Knight and Maglubiyet? How do you think they feel about this?"
Throughout the entire journey so far, Meiva has stuck to herself. She has explored the lower inner areas of the tower, more to keep her mind out of the height of the building than anything. The five days go very slowly for her.
"Pbbt! Revere? Sure, maybe once upon a time we 'ad some'n like 'at goin fer us fer Big M. But, eh... It's kinda complicated, 'onestly." As he sighs, Vark nods solemnly in agreement. "Like it or not, we gotta s'ow at least some respect fer 'im. If not, to 'e 'e fright lines fer ya, if yer lucky any day we finally kick it." He explains, and Vark shudders as if repressing a memory. "See, we goblins ain't so big in reverence. Ain't got time fer less its forced on us. An even 'en, its more 'bout respect along side a 'ealthy mix of fear."Beedo explains nonchalantly.
" 'cept fings ain't quite been like 'at fer some time now."Vark pipes in, look pensive. "Yah. Been a nice 'n all not 'avin to run around half stave most times. But, 'cause of 'ow Big Ma works accord'n to Boss Lady, 'ard to get a read one way or another on 'ow we s'pose to feel 'bout 'er."He admits. "Now as far as 'ow 'ey fill 'bout us, ya ask'n one goblin ya ain't s'pose to fer an answers."

Lukian nods as Beedo speaks. "I can understand your plight. Even among my own people, I did not know my place. I have learned to rely on Lathander for my identity. He knows who I am and who I will be. And believe me, I fear my savior. He is ... powerful," the elf says with reverence. "Do not worry about how others feel about you. Be true to yourself."

An unexpected encounter - Day 6, Second Ten-day, Month of Eleasis (afternoon)
Early in the afternoon (Devin - 1, D.O.R.K. - 2, Lukian - 3 & Toruun - 4) [3] Devin who still excited about travelling in a flying castle had walked outside onto the cloud base to watch the countryside pass by underneath them (OOC: if anybody else wants to be with him that's fine) when he sees that they are flying over a highly dissected sandstone plateau bisected by a huge river. To the north they can see a huge stone bridge crossing the river and in the valleys beneath them they can see individual buildings. One appears to have a red roof and be some sort of temple and is deep inside a box canyon. Another is a ruined keep in a wide valley and directly beneath them he can see a spire stretching up from the valley floor. The castle is at a height of about 5,000 feet above ground level and as they castle passes overhead, Devin sees nine giant vultures - all with riders - take off and claw their way up towards the castle.
Devin heads back inside the castle to alert the others.
"Hey, we have company coming. Some vulture riders just took off from the village below us and are headed our way. I counted 9 in total. Giant vultures with riders. Hey Uncle Zeph can we outrun them or will we have to fight? "
After getting responses he heads back outside to keep an eye on the incoming riders.
At Devin's warning, Lukian looks up from his book with interest. "Vulture riders?" he asks, more to himself than any of the others. He stands, and when the human calls up to the giant, the elf looks up expectantly. "Uncle Zeph?!" Lukian also yells.
OOC: Why didn't any of us ask Zeph who he was talking to? "The figure looks toward the entrance-way where he can see Lukian, Meiva and Toruun all peering around in amazement and then disappears back behind the curtain and you all hear a voice yelling out 'you said that there would be five and two hangers on, I count only four! Are you trying to trick me again?' The face then pops back through the curtain looks down at Devin and says 'what is your name young man and where are you from?'"
Both Goblins again look to each other, shrug, then turn back to Lukian. "Yea', I'm pretty sure we ain't gonna 'ave any probs 'ere. But fings all 'e same?"He says uncertainly. "O' would'ja look at 'ere. Bout time We got back to work. Ain't 'e right, brovah?" Vark nods enthusiastically, and together the two hustle off to do any busy work possible. Though as the two hustle away, Beedo asks Vark, "You fink 'es on ta somethin' 'ere?" To which, Vark glances back, then shrugs and continues to hustle along.
(@DDP: Pretty sure the goblins just thought he was crazy and wrote it off, and Dork wasn't there for that. X))
"Beedo. Vark! Door!" D.O.R.K calls. The two immediately stop trying to arguing over the right way to make more fire arrows with all professionalism of a well-trained unit. Mostly. Beedo still complains about "Bird Brains picking bad times"as he had to reload his quiver before bustling off. "Warning. We may have to draw them away to avoid being picked off in case of hostility. Please advised." D.O.R.K warns as she tosses door knocker over her shoulder on her way to the door.
If the door wasn't already closed, she orders the duo to get ready to close it. But not without saying, "Acolyte Devin! Return to the entryway. It is not safe to engage from that position. They will land if they wish to parley."She said promptly. The moment it looks like he might try to argue otherwise, she interjects, "This is /not/ a negotiation. You will comply. Or I will drag you kicking and screaming into this tower, young man."Says the eight to ten year old.

Hearing the call to arms, Torunn gets from his work puts its away safely and prays to Gond,"Bless my aim as I test this gift you have given me."
Torunn then heads outside, his musket in arms and a giant grin on his face. He then turns to the others, "If I see any signs of aggression, I am taking a shot."
Ready Action: Fire a shot from his musket at one of the vultures
Lukian joins the others, bow in hand. "Are we sure they mean us harm? We should first attempt to communicate with them. They may be defending their territory." He looks at the hole in the ceiling again. "Where is our host?" Turning to Devin, he asks, "Can you send your pet up there to find Zeph?"
As people step out one by one despite her protest, D.O.R.K eyes turn red. "Uh... Boss Lady? Boss? … Boss Lady?" An increasingly unnerved Beedo says as visible steam starts pouring out of D.O.R.K's head. "....Hold your position, and be ready to bar the door for our retreat." She expresses as steps up grudgingly join the others, but only just outside the doors. "Acolyte Lukian. Brother. I must insist that you at least stay closer to the doors in case of an emergency. If they wish parley, then they should do so on our terms. We are too vulnerable out in the open."
(@All: If you guys are already just outside it, then nevermind. There aws no specifics, so needless to say she's worried for yaw'll getting thrown off if things get hair.)
OOC: I wasn't sure where everyone is, so that's why I just said "joined". Lukian would heed Dork's suggestion to stay inside. So, if everyone is outside except for Dork, Lukian is probably just inside the threshold.
"Big M?" Lukian asks.

When Devin comes inside to make his report he realizes there is no answer from above.
On Lukian's suggestion he asks Aslan to fly up and check for Uncle Zeph.
"Can you go up and see if the giant is there? Then come back."
Aslan's eyes narrow for a moment and then the tressym launches into the air heads up into the upper chambers.
He makes his way to the door but stops when he hears D call to him to stay inside.
"Sure just one second. "
He darts ot the door and sees the riders look to be landing. He then quickly heads back in and reports.
"I'll trust your combat skill on this one D. But hopefully they just want to talk. "
He'll pull the door closed and see if it can be locked.
