It takes every once of will power of D.O.R.K's part not to bat away what bats come too close to swarm her form. Even after having reached a more comfortable position in the tunnel network, the many body bodies only added to the claustrophobia. Beedo is having the time of his life however, and actually snags at least one or two either in hand or with that big mouth of his, tearing into them on the spot.

Ebonitus calls to the halflings, "Over here," as he squints through the gloom to catch glimpses of them, "the way out is over here." I'll give you a boost up and you will be greeted by some more of our companions, when we are all together, we will go to the outside and get some fresh air." He helps as each of the halflings comes over and assists them into the squeeze. When they are all up, he follows ahead of Lukian.

When the bats fly out Devin quickly hides his face and head behind his shield allowing them to pass. Once gone he looks about again.
"What's going on up there?"
He whispers just before halflings start making their out of the small hole.
Moving backwards some he gets to the entrance again, ending the light spell on his shield. He didn't want to attract attention. He makes room for the people they are saving.
As Devin's light spell ends, Lukian picks up a rock, casts a dim red light on the object, and tosses it into the first chamber to help the halflings see where they are headed. He then waits to exit last, keeping an eye on the other exits to make sure no one or no thing catches them by surprise from the rear.
Devin carefully climbs out of the shaft and as does so spots a movement at the base of the tower. However before he has a chance to do or say something Ebonitus follows him out and stands up blinking in the mid-afternoon sunlight - "get down" Devin hisses but it is too late. From the base of the tower Devin, Ebonitus and anybody else who has exited hear a voice "Oi, szumowiny są tam i mają więźniów!" Carefully looking over the edge they spot four Orogs clustered around the base looking angrily up at them.
(OOC: The tower has a perimeter of approximately 2000 feet and a total area of about half of an acre.)
Ebonitus, suddenly comes to some awareness and retreats back a few feet to take cover in the shaft's entrance. "@#$%" he says, "we've been spotted. Toruun, do you think you can do something with that magic black powder of yours to slow them down a bit." More generally he asks: "Let's take stock. How many of us are there, including the halflings, and is there another way off the karst?"

"We need to get off this hill, preferably not through those Orogs. Problem is they already see us so it's almost no use trying to get down another side. They'll just follow us. We've got the high ground. If we stay out of range of their javelins we should be ok and maybe take one or two out before they get up here or disappear. Anyone else got an idea? Or do we start attacking? "
"None." D.O.R.K answered. "Now that we've been spotted, they need only delay us long enough for the rest to return. If we do dispatch them in time, which given are limited arms and magic at our disposal, is unlikely, they will win any war of attrition given our current circumstances. Without missing a beat, she carefully undoes the longbow strapped to her and passes it to Vark. "Provide covering fire." She looks as much as she can to the others. "Once I have fully engaged them in melee, Lukian should see about escorting our rescued targets to Mr. G using the opposite side of this position. If all goes to plan, they will should initially be too busy to come after you. Brother. Despite the calling, I would ask that you do not use your creation, as it is too loud, and will likely attract returning forces all the more."
With all that said, unless physically stopped, she, Beedo, and Vark continue their climb out into the sun. Whatever stony purchase the goblin pair can find upon exiting, the two take up sniper positions as D.O.R.K clamored and marched her way down to meet the thickest cluster of Orogs.

Ebonitus, feeling a little guilty as the one who was careless enough to be spotted, mutters under his breath: "She's a brave one that D.O.R.K., though perhaps a little foolish." He then calls upon the earthmother My lady please protect this brave being from harm casting shield of faith on D.O.R.K for a +2 to her armour class for the next 10 min. He then continues a little more loudly, "I will advance with Devin and give her a hand. Perhaps we can clean them up before they can get further assistance." And so saying he heads down the hill after Devin with more than a hint of the memory of what happened last time he engaged them and resolves to only engage them from a safe distance (100' or so).

Eventually the party shepherds the group of halflings up and out of the cave. Could everybody make a perception roll as they clamber out of the shaft.

How far away are the Orogs?
About 200 to 250 feet. The entrance to the shaft is roughly in the middle of the karst tower.
