Let's say he's not a member of the Emerald Enclave, or he would have reacted to that immediately. In fact, if there were members in his home community, he might actually have negative feelings toward the Enclave.
Religion check: 6 — Guess not!
Without saying anything further, Lukian turns his back on the newcomer and walks down the hill to Devin. His back to the hill, he asks quietly, "What do you think? Can we trust that this is not one of the Zhentarim group that we are investigating? I believe he is telling the truth, but what do you think?"
D.O.R.K's initial response is to look to Ebonitus and Devin, if only for a moment. "I... I... I... Do not know... but... I do know that it would... behoove us to take what allies... we can." She replied just as quietly, though more falteringly than light worshiper."If the past... if it is any indication.... we.... we need the number now that we... now that Torunn and my.... Now that Beedo and Vark are not... here." She goes on to affirm. Yet instead of addressing the newcomer immediately after, as was her habit as the most direct, she waits instead to hear the others.

"Well, I don't know anything about any Dusk Wardens but I do know Selune. And I know she is an ally of my Lady of Mysteries. If this elf serves Selune then he seeks the same ends my lady seeks. And as D says, we need allies." Devin says.
"May Lathander keep us from further harm," Lukian says. He turns and walks up toward the others. "Let us continue on our way else we miss the opportunity to uncover the information we need."

The party now enhanced by one continues to move along parallel to the path as stealthily as they can (Devin = 29, D.O.R.K. = 10, Ebonitus = 17, Ilezenya = 17 & Lukian = 30). As they continue around the shoulder of the hill they see in front of them on the eastern side of the river a ruined town, its walls breached in several places. On the western side of the river they see the remains of a castle – again in ruins – and the remnants of a once grand bridge straddling the river linking the castle and the town.
On the road directly in front of them they can see 8 humanoids of varying ethnicities and races sitting on horses watching the trail they have been moving parallel to. Suddenly all eight of the riders look at where the party has been moving parallel to the road - in fact they look directly at where D.O.R.K. has banged into a low hanging branch with a distinctly metallic clang. The leader yells at D.O.R.K. "oi what do you want?"

(@all: Dork may be very smart. But the person at the wheel... not so much. So, here goes nothing!)
D.O.R.K just stands stock still for a good long moment, as improvising wasn't her cup of tea. Yet if not run through or attacked during that awkward pause, she suddenly jerks into full standing position, and gives a very generic salute to the leader. "Apologies, sir. My designation is 111125 dash E. M. A. L. I am a explorer unit, third class. Unfortunately, I do not know what I want, as my creator and other supervisior have approximately died over a hundred years ago." She explained. "I am still seeking my purpose in their absence.... Will you give me a purpose?" She asked in a very robotic and almost gender neutral tone.
Ilezenya quietly focuses his attention on the 8 random people, watching for any signs of hostile intent and ready to spring into action if needed. (Using "Vigilant Blessing" feature on himself: "You give one creature you touch (including possibly yourself) advantage on the next initiative roll the creature makes.")

The leader of the guards looks really confused at D.O.R.K.'s request (Insight = 14) but after a quick discussion with his colleagues turns back and says "it ain't 'ere so bugger off back down the track and look there!"
Throughout this exchange, Ebonitus is carefully observing the group of 8, with special attention on the one who spoke, to see if he can ascertain if the rest of us have been spotted.

D.O.R.K very robotically jerks her head around to peer down the suggested track, and then back to the riders to salute again. However in Giant she shouts back given the distance, "Understood! I will seek my purpose there as directed. But if it is unfounded, I will return later to search ruins." Then, unless the riders respond in some fashion or another, the construct does an about face and begins to slowly but surely march away until a some obstacle or another would allow her to naturally break their line of sight.
At which point Dork squats down behind the barrier, clutching her head and murmur to herself for a time...

Devin couldn't see anyway to get much closer without alerting the watchers. Yet they were out of range and it would be better to draw them closer to attack.
Perhaps there was a place to get into the ruins without being seen but it didn't seem so.

Devin is sure that they the only way to get into the ruins of Nesme will be by heading cross-country and try to come in from a route other than by road.
"If we get closer, I can cover some of them in darkness so that they can not see. Or I can coax some of them to sleep. Or we can go around the long way..." the newcomer responds.

As far as Ebonitus can work out only D.O.R.K. Has been spotted.
