"This is a place of peace, no?" Mullo asks Harshnag. "If you mean no fighting is allowed here - well no not exactly! It is said that eons ago when my kin visited to seek guidance they tended to leave their squabbles at the door. Whether their tempers ever got the better of them I do not know? What you small people do here is on your heads!" he replies
Not really knowing how to respond to Devin's statement, D.O.R.K just avoided meeting his eyes, and would later be focused on simply the destination ahead as the group made their way across the causeway. As far as thinking to question or "use" Harshnag as a shield, such thoughts had occured during the trip. Yet almost as soon as it had, the living construct dismissed the very idea, and chided herself for the foolish notion. While a godsend in many ways, the giant was NOT charged as they had been to the task...
(Below assumes Mullo updated everyone about the tracks. But if not, feel free to ignore any exacting details on the subject)
Once across...
"We are not giants. So, we should not expect to be judged in the same way, if there is to be any concern of such."D.O.R.K chimed in. "Though avoiding defacing anything of note should be avoided." She then turns on Devin, and nods to him. "You may begin. We shall wait here. If this humans are not augmented like Mullo here, they should not be able to see out of the gloom to us. It is advised that the rest of us stay on alert all the same, and be prepared to use the pillars as cover if need be. Harsnag?" She looks up to the giant. "Is it safe to presume this course is alright with you as well?"
Devin stands at the entrance as if deep in thought while Ilezenya peers into the complex.
What Devin and Ilenzya see?
Ilezenya is able to use his superior darkvision to determine that corridor extends at least 300 feet. The corridor is 40 feet wide and about 60 feet high - but at about 100 feet in it seems to open up.
Devin is unable to see in as far as IIezenya but can spend several rounds moving the eye deeper into the complex.
Both Devin and Ilezenya can see that there are gaps in the ceiling at the 20 foot and 40 foot mark.
Devin nods to D and then speaks the words of power as he moves his hands in a circular motion. A moment later nothing seems to have happened.
"The eye is actually invisible. Let's see what is going on inside. This will take some time."
Devin moves the eye down the corridor stopping to note the gaps in the ceiling. He directs the eye to look at the 2 gaps studying them for a moment. Possible traps or ways to block the corridor from intrusion? he thinks to himself. (Perception 28) If he sees nothing of interest he sends the eye further down the corridor, turning it as it sweeps left and right as well as up and down to take in everything. While he does this he narrates what he sees so the others know what is going on. He looks around at everything until he gets to a point where it seems eh can't move the eye forward anymore.
Mullo and Haetone move to the side to keep an eye on their surroundings to make sure no one can get the drop on the group while they are waiting to go in.
As Devin sends his eye down the corridor first of all to look closely at the gaps in the ceiling and then further down the corridor which will take about a 2 minutes to reach the point where Ilezenya's dark vision has petered out he discovers several things: 1) there are large stones in the ceiling designed to slide down but what controls them he doesn't know 2) there are a series of ledges 20 feet above the corridor extending from a point 100 feet into the complex to a point 200 feet into the complex 3) carved into the back of the ledges are a series of niches which all contain iron sconces 4) off each ledge there are series of entrances going back into the mountain 5) at the end of the corridor there is a series of steps heading up and at the top of them clustered around two huge doors are eight human figures and what looks like a small dragon.
Devin pauses and watches the humans. He describes out loud what he sees as he looks at what they are wearing. He tries to see if their lips are moving and if he can read them and see what they are saying, trying to determine if they speak a language he knows.
He keeps the Arcane Eye about 25 feet from the humans.
As best Devin can work out most of the barbarians are grunting as they shoulder charge the doors which are not moving. One of the barbarians standing to one side seems to be exhorting the others.
"Perhaps we should move in while the barbarians are occupied with the door. Let's look for pressure plates and tripwires so we don't set off those traps..." the dusk warden suggests.
"Any door here was made for giants, so we may have some time. But, that is fair point, Ilnezya."The construct affirms. "This would mean no light sources on our parts during the approach. And possibly snuffing out theirs, if they should have any, to sow further confusion." D.O.R.K looks to Ebonitus. "Safe to assume you are prepared to assist in obscuring us today? If so, we will be relying on you."Her attention then turns to Harshnag. "I presume you do not wish to participate in this as well, if hostilities are truly in order shortly. So if you do not mind, can you hang back here until the current matter is dealt with, or the dragon proves an 'issue'?"

Ebonitus concurs, "A sound plan, D.o.R.K." and when the party is ready to move on, he casts pass without trace to include the entire party. "That should make it a bit harder for them to detect our presence."

"They appear to be trying to make entry through the door but I cannot understand what they are saying. More grunts than anything. Mullo, or Harshnag, what do you know of who may live in these mountains? As for the dragon let me take a closer look."
He turns his attention to the dragon and what he can see and what he may know describing it to Ebonitus.
"I presume you do not wish to participate in this as well, if hostilities are truly in order shortly. So if you do not mind, can you hang back here until the current matter is dealt with, or the dragon proves an 'issue'?"D.O.R.K. inquires
"While I like a good scrap, let's see what you lot can do eh?" Harshnag replies
Mullo replies, "Describe to me in detail what the barbarians are wearing and what tattoos they have."
As Devin describes the tattoos of the barbarians, Mullo says “Great Worms then!”
What Mullo knows?
Mullo has heard that the Great Worms have fallen under sway of a brutal chieftain known as Wormblood. While he does not know exactly where there base of operations is; it is known to be in this part of the Spine of the World. Generally the Great worms rarely raided the more settled areas but were known to do so in times of scarcity. However since Wormblood has taken over their aggression seems to have increased.Put your spoiler here.
With the magical aid of Ebonitus' spell, Ilezenya offers to be one of the group in the lead, since he can see the farthest. He also constantly looks for traps and triggers - especially for what triggers the falling stone slabs! (Passive Perception=17 =)
Mullo nods stoically. "Great Worms then." Her scowl deepens. "That explains the small dragon, but not what they are doing. I have heard that their new chief — Wormblod — is a particularly brutal one. Before him, we rarely heard of Great Worms raiding large settlements, but we've heard stories that they are becoming more brave and reckless." She looks at Dork and then back to Devin. "I could enter alone and try to talk to them. My status as a shaman of the Sky Ponies will have little influence on how they respect me, but we all follow Uthgar, and that may keep them from being hostile toward me."
"I know nothing of the people that live this far north so I cannot say if your course is wise. You would know best how to deal with them. Let me see what I else I can see before I let this spell drop. They have not gotten in yet."
Devin moves the Arcane Eye around and up to see where the ledges were and check out the series of entrances going back into the mountain and where they lead.
