Jaylen follows Halhace, utterly exhausted. Still, one in the room, he orderly strips off his armor and mutters his daily prayers to the weave before laying down for sleep.

Kamos follows to the room, and tries to fall asleep.

Darah follows the group to the room and carves out a spot for herself.  She sits, closes her eyes and meditates.  This has been a difficult day, and though she has has many such days in the past this one ranked among the highest.  She fights sleep as long as she can, knowing what will come when it takes her.  After an hour, the exhaustion overcomes her and she passes into unconsciousness.

You can see the stairs from where you were talking to the two men. The stairs lead you to a corridor with windows on one side and 3 doors on the other. At the end of the corridor are steeper stairs with an open hatch at the top. Through the hatch you find the attic room, with 8 wooden framed and straw filled beds lining  two of the walls, which have been made some time ago and are dusty. Only one of them seems to have been slept in recently. There are small square windows between the beds. Through the windows on one side you can see the rest of the village. On the other side, you can see a small courtyard that is now covered with water. Beyond the courtyard is the orchid you had passed on your descend to Shallowrest. Unlike the rest of the village, the room lacks the distinct smell of the sea. Instead, the scent is reminiscent of a well kept empty stable. 

The night would have be silent, were it not for the constant splashing of water against the walls of the houses. Soon after you lay down to rest a strong light shines through the windows facing the village; it lingers for a short while before it moves on.

The next day, as you wake up, it’s already bright outside with the sun high in the sky. After walking for so long the previous day, you have slept longer than expected.

Looking outside, what do we see?  Water, water everywhere? :)

Looking outside through the windows you can see that there is water surrounding all the houses, but it only seems to reach halfway up the platforms the houses are built on. However, in the sunlight you can see that the stone platforms are still wet high above the current water level. It looks like the tide started retreating recently.

Halhace stretches as he wakes and will noe let the others go about their morning activities as he finally sits down with the strange quarterstaff in an attempt to learn more about.

Kamos gets up, but just sits there waiting for the groups next move.

"What a glorious morning my friends! I trust you all slept well? Shall we go downstairs and see about breakfast? Perhaps inquire about the riddle of these rising rides?"

Kamos: (to Jaylen) "i thought we were trying to get as far away from here as possible."

To Kamos "Agreed, we shouldn't dally to long. But I do believe I said something last night about trying to find a solution to their problem. We can at least hear them out and spend the morning thinking about it. It's not like we are going anywhere with the water this high."

"Agreed.  Seems unlikely we can help but you never know, and we have the time .. "

Halhace, while the others slowly get up and talk between themselves you concentrate on the staff once again.
You have attuned to the skyblinder staff.

(On that note, you guys still have unidentified bracers- I think Jaylen. Do you want to attune to those before going downstairs?)

(Also, I’m going to assume Meep is silently following after Dhara, until Eremis comes back)

 
You make your way back down to the room with the bar and tables. You can hear some distant chatter, and you catch a scent of boiled fish and vegetables.
As you enter the room there is only Kaden, the middle aged man you talked to the day before, who is rubbing down the tables with a dry cloth. “Morning.” He greats you as he notices you and stops his work, “There’s breakfast if you lot are not above a simple fish stew and stone baked bread. You do have a bit of time to waste before the tide is completely cleared.”

Halhace will not argue with any type of food at that point, moving to sit down at a table. "I sould hope thst none of us are above a meal of any kind. Only a fool would deny themselves food so they could simply act like they are better then others."

"Thank you - We are appreciative of your hospitality.  We are not from around here - anything you can share about the area or recent news?"

(FYI Eremis also plays in my waterdeep game and appears to have gone awol .. )

Jaylen will attempt to attune to the bracers before going downstairs. He will then join the others. 

Kamos goes down stairs, sits with the other members of the party, and eats the generously provided food.

"Yes, thank you all for the hospitality and the warm meal. It is much appreciated. But do tell about these curious tides. Last night you mentioned it was not always like this. When did it start?"

Kamos: (to the party) "Did everyone sleep alright last night?"

"Like I hadn't slept in quite some time. Peaceful and tranquil. But I was utterly exhausted."
