"I'm a little light on coin at the moment, so unless you have anything of the free variety, I am afraid I will have to pass. Unless of course, there are some chores or something I can do to earn a meal and a pint?"
Halhace looks up at the barmaid and thinks on what they can get. "For now just a mug of water would be well enough for me thank you. If my and I companions need more we will call you over."
She smiles back at Jaylen, but upon listening to them all her expression turns more serious.
“You’re new to this city, then?”she says aloud, than leans closer to the table and continues in a hushed voice even you can barely hear.“Lemme get this right. You guys are in this city with no coin and no job, looking like a bunch of hired guard. Guessing you wouldn’t have an identification tablet on you?”with none of you knowing what she is talking about she brings out a small flat block of cut grey stone with a marking carved into it, revealing it just enough that you can get a quick look at it. “How exactly have you gotten in?..Actually, don’t answer that, I don’t wanna know.” She straightens back up, smile back on her face. “I’ll see what I can do for you all. But first, let’s get you that water.” With that, she leaves. Behind the bar she exchanges a few words with someone, and then disappears through back door.
After a short moment she returns and brings you water and a bowl filled with pieces of bread and dried meat. “Hopefully we can help each other.” She says as she offers you the bowl with food. “It’s gonna be a while before boss returns, so make yourself comfortable.”
Halhace toakes her mug of water and begins to slowly sip at it, moving to watch the barmaid carefully as he grips the staff he had taken with him. Due to his lack of armor since he had no true reason to wear any he would look the must out of place compared to the others. "From thismpoint on it would be wise to keep our lack of gold and proper identification to ourselves. If I had proper equipment and enough time I could possibly forge some of those tablets for us."
(The most out of place would actually be Kamos as he is a tiefling and you haven’t seen any other tieflings so far, and he is only wearing common clothes with no armour – he looks more like a peasant, which you also haven’t seen many of in the city. As for Halhace, he would also stand out, yes, but as a full blooded orc, he would look like a mercenary, or at least people would be weary around him.)
You waited for quite some time before the barmaid brought up the topic again. While waiting, the celebrating crowd bought you a round of cheap ale. Then, with time, they slowly left; some to the inn rooms, others out to the docks. By the time the barmaid comes back to your table the tavern is a much quieter place.
“Follow me.”The barmaid calls to you from behind the bar. She leads you through the door behind the bar and down a set of stairs, bringing you to a mostly empty room, with a stone table and some stone blocks that function as chairs in the middle of the room. When you all enter the room she leaves immediately, closing the door behind her.
Only a short moment after she leaves a big human man enters. “Let’s make this quick and cut to the chase here. I am Xanthe, the owner of the establishment above and the warehouse. And you, you are nobodies in this city illegally.” He closes the door behind him, but he does not move away from it, making a further notion that he wants this done quick. “I can get you out of the city with a bit of extra coin to your pockets, and all you need to do is help me make a delivery of goods on your way out.” He slowly looks at each of you. “How does that sound?”
Kamos: (to Xanthe) "i can't speak for the entire group, but i am fine with that arrangement, with an alteration to that, i'll leave after i make sure my friend is safe" (referring to Albrec getting separated from the group)

Looking for a new game, if you need a player private message me.
Xanthe lifts his eyebrow at that and crosses his arms. “I’m not sure if you heard, but there’s supposedly some slaves missing from Lentuls’ fighters, and I have all ships thoroughly inspected for stowaways. Which, by my reckoning, makes you wanted men, and woman.”He nods towards Dhara. “Best you can do for your friend is wish him luck and pray for him if you’re of that type.”
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Kamos: (to Xanthe) "Don't you know? Tieflings make terrible slaves, sometimes we just burst into flames. I think you are mistaken, we are not slaves, just some people having a bad day."
Deception: 2

"I'm fine with this 'arrangement'. I have concern for Albrec, but he's gone. We can't help him - he will have to fend for himself. If we go out in search of him we will likely suffer the same fate. I just want out of this city. What do you need us to do?"
Xanthe’s lips draw into an amused smile at Kamos’ comment.
“You can stay the night in the attic and tomorrow, with the sunrise, we’ll have the goods ready for you to take. There is an abandoned structure under this city running all the way to the ruins of the old towers. There, you will pass the goods to the group waiting in those towers.” He replies to Dhara. “There are, however, complications in the tunnels.” He takes a long pause and signs. “They have become too unruly for my usual guys to risk themselves, but if you were good enough for Lentus to spend coin on, you must be able to handle yourselves. Besides, this is the only route out of this city that is not guarded, so there’s that too.”
"I find these terms agreeble. I want to be as far from this place as quickly as possible. The coin from this will just be an added bonus for us. As for the human I am sure that he can handle himself if he is smsmart enough to lay low. For now let us sleep and gather our wits for the morning." Halhace says, the reasoning sounding strange coming from an orc.
"Thank you for your generous offer and your hospitality. I accept as well. I pray Albrec is safe, but searching for him would be impractical and endanger the rest of us. If it was just me I might risk it, but I could never in good conscious allow us all to take that risk."
“Glad we’re in agreement. Erin, the barmaid, will take you to the attic and sort you out tomorrow.”With that Xanthe turns and leaves.
Erin comes and leads you past the inn rooms and into the attic. The space is dusty and doesn’t seem to get much use, but there are simple beds lining the two opposite walls. “Stay in here and don’t come out until I get you.” She leaves you for the night.
Congratulations you are all LEVEL 2! You have escaped your masters and the fights that were set for you. You made your way through the city, found out about identification tablets and secured a way out of the city.
Dhara;
The dream of Erden, the city you grew up in, haunts you this night as well. The streets are overrun by fiends and an ominous red glow emits from behind the buildings. You seem to be standing in the middle of a street with demons and devils running around you, but an eerie quietness surrounds you. You can’t speak or move. Slowly there is a sound of running footsteps closing in and sounds of crashing stone. Just as a fiend jumps at you, you suddenly wake up; the sound of running footsteps and stone still present.
Meep;
Your rest is mostly peaceful, apart from one dream. You appear to be a small dragon with dark blue scales and dark grey claws and spikes on your head and back. You are running through a forest much like the one under which you grew up. Except this one is thicker with trees, and the tree roots form a webbed path beneath your feet, under which is a marsh; an abundance of muddy water that doesn’t seem to end. You are running from something, but before you can figure out anything more, you wake up.
The next day you are woken up by the sound of loud running footsteps and crashing sounds, even before the sun starts to rise.
Those with darkvision (everyone except Jaylen) see Erin, the barmaid, hunching by the door. When she notices you are awake she motions you to follow. If no one else does, she goes over to Jaylen, grabs his arm, and leads him after herself. “These are Lentuls’ guards looking for you. You need to leave now.”She tries to hush her voice as much as possible. When footsteps seem a bit quieter she leads you down back to the room with the stone table and chairs, where 5 heavy boxes are waiting for you. When you take the boxes she opens a secret door; a part of the back wall of the room moves revealing a dark tunnel. “Here, you’ll need this.” She hands each of you a backpack containing 5 days of food rations, waterskin, bedroll, rope – hempen (50 feet), tinderbox and 3 torches. “And your coin.”She hands each of you 1 gold coin. (I’ll add everything onto your character sheets!)
She than ushers you to pass through the opening in the wall, closing it behind you. As she does she quickly adds, “And get yourselves those IDs. They’ll get you more jobs and better pay.”
Before you is a dark tunnel, and everyone but Jaylen can see it leads into a man-made structure.
Though a little miffed at the single gold coin, Dhara realizes they are not particularly in a position to negotiate. Besides the only thing she likes better than not being in a city, is being underground.
She will say nothing to the barmaid but will take the lead as we set out.
Halhace will move to follow Dhara, carefully hiding his coin since he had no reason to trust any of those he was stuck with at the moment. As they begin to move down the hall he will use his staff as if it was a walking stick, keeping himself prepared incase he needed to cast a spell.
Jaylen tuns to the barmaid and smiles.

Kamos: (to the barmaid) "I am like my friend here, am looking for something free, or if there is any work i could do to earn some coin."
