"I'll take the first watch at sundown or the last before dawn. Those are the most likely times for ambush." Valen talks a walk around thr ruined building for a good vantage point. (Perception: 23)
(Woop woop! Nat 20! Miru herself watches over us!)
Grishkar Darkmoor, Necromancer of Nerull the Despiser Kelvin Rabbitfoot, Diviner, con artist, always hunting for a good sale Bründir Halfshield, Valor Bard, three-time Sheercleft Drinking Competition Champion, Hometown hero
Valen, as you look at the skies, you swear you see flashing lights amid the thundering snowstorm. You feel as if a certain unease has be set upon yourself, you are not sure what, but something is slightly different, whether you've just connected deeper to Miru or realized something that has been bothering you personally. The sensation is odd, and you find yourself feeling more vigilant than before. "Expect the unexpected", keeping coming to your mind, with a female... almost motherly voice.
Valen has gained the Outsider Watch Boon: For the next twenty-four hours, creatures bearing the Outsider subtype have disadvantage on checks to hide/stealth by you.
Rhogash notices nothing as he tends the fire.
25 Frandal hears a few noises similar to crunching, but finds some mice that the eagle makes quick work of, and has a quiet watch.
7 As Salleek's watch finishes, you look out one of the windows and see a number of individuals approaching the inn, there are roughly eight of them. Salleek, I would like you to make a Stealth Check. If you would like to figure out what they are doing, then make a Perception check.
Salleek attempts to duck behind the curtain, [Stealth 7], peeking around it to look upon them [Perception 15].
[Clearly luck is against me...]
Salleek, forgetting there is no curtain, realises after a few moments that he has hidden himself with his own wing, rather than a cloth that would not stand out.
(So did I notice anything making the crunching sounds?)

Sadly, you were asleep Valen, in fact, you still are.
Salleek, you hear several voices speaking in Draconic: "There! In the window! Burn the inn, before the masters find out there are survivors!" And they being to rush towards the inn, crossbows and swords drawn.
Frandal, who was putting his spellbook on his backpack, hears Sallek's warning and almost without thinking he calls his bow to his hand and goes to one of the ruined windows and takes aim towards the newcomers.
[OOC: Frandal will take half cover behind the window and will try to see one of the attackers. On sight he will fire towards them.
(Initiative: 6. If any are left in range on my turn, I'll use Sacred Flame as it doesn't require an attack. Range 60, Dex to save, no cover bonus. 4 damage)

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
[Initiative 14]
Hearing the foot steps fading as the would-be assailants turn tail, Salleek will fly 60 feet and attempt to shoot one with his Longbow [Attack roll 20] (If they haven't had their turn let me know because that roll gets advantage if so).
EDIT: I'll assume that I don't get that advantage, thanks to the initiative... I just can't roll well on the forums this week - What did I do to offend the dice gods???
As you see, you see one individual with a mask made of bone, but this mask has no eye or mouth holes. It has a slightly curved sword with red markings, and several crossbowmen flank to its side, crossbows ready. The Bone Monk rushes towards Salleek, and making a single attack with a longsword, rolling 18 on its attack, dealing 8 fire damage on a hit. The crossbowmen fire each at Rhogash, Frandal, and Valen, making attack rolls with 13, 10, 18, respectively, and dealing 3 to Rhogash on a hit, 1 to Frandal on a hit, 4 to Valen on a hit.
"Fly high and look for them " thinks Frandal to his eagle. The familiar expands her wings and climbs up in the morning sky, using the air warm by the rising sun to gain altitude. He then concentrates and close his eyes. He felt his mind slipping onto the eagle's and the joy of flying. The animal, once it has reached a safe altitude for that crossbows, start looking for the intruders.
Frandal, as your familiar takes to the sky, you see one bone masked individual along with three crossbowmen roughly thirty feet from the ruined inn you are in.
