(OOC: You may continue talking tonight, if you wish. Let me know if you'd rather do the Long Rest and continue in the morning.)
When you mention that the cambion made some gestures and was surprised to still be there, Bommie confirms that the compound has magic preventing enemies from teleporting in and out. The cambion had meant to cast Plane Shift, so he would have escaped if you fought him somewhere else.
Bommie agrees with Trim, that this guy should be incarnated in the hells as a lemure, to be stepped on by the minor devils.
Your guest shack will have trusted guards outside, so your Long Rest will be peaceful.
Froskan: Hands over the Gem of Brightness (after brushing off some dust and lint). Bommie puts it into an ornate lantern. He now has a Lantern of Revealing. (It has been added to his inventory.) With the gem inside, it does not need fuel. Besides the "bright" and "dim" settings, the cover plates can be set to "dark" (no light visible). (OOC: I assume that the lantern is "dark" unless told otherwise.)

(OOC: The tall white & silver lady pointed out that your party was bragging in the Portly Warthog about your feats of valor, so word about your party got around town. If there were any spies on the town council (after the slave rescue report), the Forestgleam name would have been noticed there, too.
This cambion was paying for anyone anything that would help attack your group in this compound. So this guy was actively seeking out bad guys to help him, rather than Talona people actively seeking out Reverie.
Reverie could write a letter and ask the Watchful Guild to get it to a postal service. Delivery might take weeks, especially now that winter is here. Would she be writing to the relatives she was staying with near the frontier, or the main House all the way back east?... A letter sent this way would be like the Pony Express. Alternatively, you could use a magic service in Nunkreet (like a telegraph), but it would be more expensive and you couldn't send a sealed envelope that way.)

Isk gives a disdainful look at the devil's body, and with a flourish of his right hand the glaive disappears in a puff of smoke. "It would make sense that they would have had a staging, or rally, point somewhere near by. Would have been hard to coordinate this attack otherwise."
He considers for a moment before nodding and saying, "I agree, a rest now, and then we should set out in the morning to find this rally point, or investigate it if your scouts find it tonight. There may be useful information there."
“Rest would be good.” Jack fumbles With his rapier, not used to it. “I’m good with these types, but i prefer my sword.” He puts it in the bag with the chair and table, messes with something blue in his pocket, and stops. “So, time for some sleep.”

You wake up on the morning of the 7th of Winter Firstmoon, 212 ADC. You need to do some stretching for tight muscles, and put on fresh bandages for some of the heavier wounds, but you feel recovered from the night's attack.
During breakfast, Bommie joins you. Reverie asks about possibly sending a letter (post 2478), and Bommie mentions some options (post 2479). Ink and paper will be at your guest house later, if Reverie (or anyone else) wants to do some writing.
To Iskander: "Here is a city ID, like theones we provided to the others. You said you wanted to keep your past obscured for now, so we've listed you as an inhabitant of Coldmist." This was the town on the Northern Ocean where he got the boat passage west, after he left the mountain cabin of Tim the Pyromancer.
------
To the group: "Last night, we let a few of the weaker humanoids escape, and the scouts tracked them to a nearby deserted chapel. It used to belong to Lathander (one of the good gods), but has fallen apart. At first glance, it would be too small to hold the numbers that attacked the Watchful Guild compound last night. When they checked inside, it was desecrated, with hidden passages tunneled underground, large enough for the ogres.
"Many members of the Watchful Guild are still injured from last night, so there will be a small squad with me. If you are willing, we'd like your group to join us in exploring those tunnels, and destroying any evil we find there.
"Besides your group and mine, there will be third group, a squad from the Iron Gate Guild. They are based in Nunkreet, and mostly work on security missions. You should be introduced to them, in case you need support inside the city."

"Friends, I don't know Theren, but I more than understand the desire to find a lost comrade. I would say that if we can find a way to disrupt the evil following us, that would making finding your friend easier. Probably much easier. They have followed us over a great distance, and I have no reason to think that they wouldn't be able to follow us to..." Isk pauses a moment, not really sure where the rest of the party is going to look for Theren, "...to, wherever you think Theren may be. Maybe we can keep that from happening by investigating this chapel. But, as I owe you my life, I will defer to your decision. My blade goes with you."
The chapel is located on the edge of the city northern suburbs. While there will be more than a few underground chambers, it won't be a huge dungeon crawl. The plan is to enter mid-afternoon, and be out before midnight (time for 1 short rest, if needed).
(OOC: The DM's plan is to get you guys some more experience, train to level 5 in the compound, then you can go to the city or wherever you desire.)
Around noon, a squad of adventurer-types enters the main gate (still being repaired from the ogres bashing it last night). They are wearing the insignia of the Iron Gate Guild: an iron bar over a triangle of wood. Two of them leave their group to approach Bommie. The one in the lead has an insignia with 3 iron bars on it, a human wearing dark goggles (you can't see his eyes), worn studded leather armor and a rapier. The other one (insignia with 2 iron bars) is the most muscled High Elf you've ever seen. He is wearing furs, carrying a great club, and has a wild look in his eyes.
They are discussing among themselves, but you (innocently) overhear most of their discussion. Bommie thanks them for joining this raid, the lead guy teases Bommie about the damage done to the compound, etc. The lead guy wonders if your party has enough strength. Bommie says that your group is still growing in power, and the Watchful Guild higher-up says your group should be supported and encouraged.
At that, Bommie waves you over for introductions. After a slight hesitation, the two Iron Gate members offer to shake hands with you. "The twitchy one is Murphy. He is one of the Iron Gate's best commanders, which you will hear if you get him drunk enough. Mister mellow next to him is called Nature's Wrath." (Bommie rolls her eyes at the elf's bombastic name, but she is showing both of them the respect of hardened warriors.)
