True. I’ll keep monitoring the thread. Eventually at some point we gotta keep moving. If he comes back in later that would be fine.

As the two of you make the cuts (-1 HP), the altars begin to hum in harmony with each other. One hums low, the other high. That pitch begins to shake the ground a little. Bits of the stairs (small bits, nothing to make you lose footing) crumble under the pressure.
Beyond, the massive double doors crack loudly. Slowly and purposefully, they swing open.
A stench fills the air. Rot. Death. Centuries of it spill forth as it infiltrates your sense of smell.

Alzaren grimaces and waves a hand, casting Prestidigitation to create a much more pleasant smell under his nose. "After you," he says to the others, waving towards the doors.
@Jemrosh, “Hahaha! Do not be ashamed. That rancid taste of fresh puke let’s you know you’re not dead yet. Enjoy it, for we do not know how long it will last”
Boran looks toward the open doors. Scimitar in hand. “Let us see what or who awaits us. I do not like to bleed lest there is someone I can make bleed more, hahaha!”
As you enter the temple, darkness greats you. Those of you with dark vision can glimpse more than you’d probably like.
The walls are slick with a black-green slime. The floor is dusted with white and black ash here and there. Spider-webbed corners claimed by creatures long forgotten still cling to their purchase.
Sounds can be heard from within. There are other things in here. The rot, the smell is heavy. A few dead bodies lay on the floor about 10 feet from you as you make your way in. They both have heavy bolts stuck into the top of their heads.
Jemrosh, wiping the left over spittle from his lips, is wide eyed at the sight. He holds back another projectile of bile in his mouth. Probably not the best decision. He forces himself to swallow.
Ahead, there are two doors on each side of the long corridor you find yourself in. They are almost symmetrical with their partners on the opposite side and are about 20 feet apart from each other as the corridor stretches on. The corridor itself is about 8 feet high and 6 feet wide. It goes on for a good ways.

Odysseus doesn't really know what happens but while he thinks we would desire for light, suddenly a light as bright as daylight appears over the tip of his weapon.
At first he is surprised, but then he guesses it must be some sort of skill he has and he doesn't remember about.
ACTION: CAST DAYLIGHT
ooc: @DM: could you describe a little better what we see now?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Probably traps too," Alzaren says, nodding at the dead bodies with bolts in the tops of their heads, then turning his attention to inspect the ceiling to see if he can determine where they came from.

Alzaren nods, happy with any plan that doesn't involve him having to cut himself if the others are happy to do it themselves.
Boran?
We’ll give Boran 3 days then move on :)

The last time he posted was Dec 19.
I think he's gone on, but we should still give him three days. I mean, you gave me three days. (Sorry about that).
It's possible he's been out for vacation or something over the holidays.

Yup. And hopefully if that IS why he's been out, now that the holidays are over he'll show back up. If not...
Yes sorry folks! Family and holidays.
Boran nods to Odysseus “Let us hope your instincts are correct.” Boran waits for a signal
Odysseus give the signal
Boran nods and mirrors Odysseus’s action in order to place the blood on the altars simultaneously
Good to have you back!
Perzival says: "Good luck"
OOC: I like these adventures with less fighting and more puzzles and atmosphere. The people I DM IRL just like to kill stuff.
Thanks Perzival :)

Odysseus gather all his courage, covers his mouth and takes a deep breath, then he enters

"Uh guys, spider webs means spiders. Spiders bad." Perzival has unnatural hate of spiders.
