The man seems to relax a little bit and accepts the new drink, but he leaves it on the table without drinking of it.
"Well, I do not know the responsible. I can point to you to the last known... users of this drug. Perhaps you can ask them who their provider is. Once again, you not beign from here and certanly, not beign members of the guard, could be useful talking with them."
"And if we choose to do this thing for you, and the good folk of this town - what we you offer as payment? Your goal seems noble enough but we need food in our bellies and a roof over our heads".
Looking at the two drinks in front of the man he adds with a smile "You know most people come to a tavern to have a drink, not just collect the cups".

"250 gold pieces for each of you " says the man a little too fast, as if he was expecting this question and was anxious to give the answer. At the comment of the cups he just waves his hands over them and doesn't pay more attentio to them.
"So... " he says to the three individuals that approached him in the first place and lowers his vocie "Are you going to help me find the responsible of this drug, this Red Dream as they all it? and is he with you or not?" he adds pointing at the elf that approached later.
Hurosk gives the newcomer a confused nod, but turns his attention back to the man. "I believe we all share a similar path here, so if he wants to join us I dont have a problem with it. As the job... Seems like an easy enough job."
"Now" he says.. "I do not know who is selling this drug but I've heard some... rumors." he looks around and continue with his conspirator demeneaor, at least he thinks so, for many of you is more like an old woman sharing cheap gossip " I've heard that Simon Barely, the fences merchant, had some troubles lately, a weird behaviour and all... his bussiness almost closed... " he clears his throat and continues " I am not a man who frecuent this kind of company you know, but if I were to look somewhere perhaps a good place to start is go to the Naked Trout, not the most imaginative or appealing names, down at the docks. His owner could know something. That place is a wretched hive of scum and villany after all... " he seems deeply perturbed while talking of this place " And perhaps you should check on the Golden Sphynx, this place where the high and wealthy like to spent their time near the north market. This insidious substance is getting to our prime youths and tempting them..." he seems to get angry " outrageous I tell you!. One more thing! " he suddenly adds as if he just remembered it " I count on your discretion. No one must know that I am the one who has hired you in the first place. So... do we have deal gentelmen? "
"Still 1000 gold to do the watch's job for them, I think you must be commended for your altruistic nature, unless of course there is something else we should know..." leaning over towards the man the elf's eyes go hard for a moment and then he smiles breaking the tension."Well, getting drugs away from people who abuse them is not a bad thing in itself, I will help you my wary little friend".

Vhon - Level 2 Warlock - What shall become of the Drunken Sailor?
Kyne lounges back in the chair he has taken and listens to the conversation flowing back and forth before him with a smirk full of amusement and self-assurance. He's a big man as it is, but his presence seems to fill the space, as though the air is somehow thicker around him.
The talk of gold and payment doesn't seem to phase him one way or the other, but a frown flashes across his brow when the man elaborates on the details of the story. Something here doesn't smell quite right.
"...and you would be?" Kyne asks pointedly, moving unexpectedly fast as he leans in and firmly grasps the man's hand before anybody else can.
"We'll need to know of course. So we can find you. For payment. When the job is done."
A nasty glint shines in his eyes as he pulls the man close and twists the hand, not letting up for a moment.
"Thank you..." says the man to Lyreis shaking his hand. Before he can put it out, the fast movement of Kyne got him by surprise and he jumps again in the chair, throwing the cup of untouched wine again across the table.
" Uh... Oh.... Would you please stop doing that?! " he says to Kyne sahking his hand quickly and letting it go regaining his composture " I didn't ask yours, no need to give mine. I will be here every night for two hours so you can report your advances on the subject if you want to. And here " he produces a purse coin and seems to ponder it for a moment ".. hmmm should be half the payment for you four... more or less, I will give you sixty percent when it's done, any coin above the original amount consider it an.. incentive." it seems that talking of money is below him for his tone of voice and he leaves the purse on the table trying not to put it over the spilled wine. " If you'll excuse me." he puts his hood over his head again, stands, makes a little movement with his head and leaves the room and the inn.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Sitting in silence for a moment as he looks out over the room Lyreis watches the other patrons to see if the man's departure attracted any particular attention (Perception 18) he then turns back to the party, looking at Hurosk and Moltaris first "It seems the fey has decided to replace those who departed with another of my people, this may be a blessing, as I think you may have a different set of skills to us, unless I am mistaken."

No one in the room seems to be paying attention to them, neither to the leaving man. The dragonborn, however, asks them if they need something more as she walks by attending other patrons.
"You could say that," Kyne answers Lyreis with a grin. He holds up his empty hand and discreetly produces a grape-sized flame in its palm, which he then rolls across the back of his knuckles as he twists the hand over, before letting it fade away into smoke.
"Nevertheless, do not take me for a mere magician. I know the wilds as well as any huntsman and fight with bow, sword and sorcery."
He pauses, looking to each of his new companions in turn.
"...and you are the hunter, the priestess and the warrior," he adds. "If my information is correct, that is, and it usually is."
"I thought as much, a good choice by the one steering us onwards. I am a warrior", this is true, for a lifetime of a man I have fought wars in the name of Valenar and served as leader of a warband, now I fight for money and glory, mostly glory if truth be told although the gold helps keep me in the manner I have grown accustomed to". Drinking deeply from his wine, the battkemaster sighs "hopefully the adversaries we will face will be mightier than those I have encountered recently, there has been little challenge and my skills must be tested to be maintained."

Kyne nods in appreciation. Age is often hard to tell amongst elves, but he recognises in Lyreis another old warrior. In some ways a kindred spirit. He drinks, and waits, hoping that the others too will introduce themselves.
The raven-tressed kalashtar watches the newcomer out of the corner of her eye, irritated and distrustful. She sits on a nearby chair and reties the bandage around her wounded leg. At no point does she make eye contact with anyone. She is rail-thin and maybe five feet tall, with pale skin and serious features.
Finally, she mutters, "The only thing worse than monsters... Is monsters creating more monsters out of helpless fools. I'm in."

Kyne scoffs at Moltaris' dour, brooding tone, but at least her heart is in the right place. Protecting innocents seems to be important to everyone here, which is good enough for him.
"Easy Molly," he teases. "Don't show too much empathy now, you might burst into tears."
As the old man with the large nose makes his departure, Hurosk muses to himself, "This area seems to breed mysterious benefactors." Turning his attention back to his group, particularly the newcomer. "Yes, I would definitely be the hunter - Hurosk d'Velderan." He offers a hand to Kyne. He then begins to sift through the coins separating the bag into four equal stacks. "I'm not one to pass up a chance to make some coin."
Inisde the purse there are several glimmering gold coins. The half-orc starts to separate it in even piles, counting a total of 525 gold pieces. wich leaves him with 125 gold pieces in each pile and another of 25 pieces.
Now some of the patrons look from time to time to their table, with so much money on it.
