Euron takes the letter and reads over it "Barovia? I know a bit about the surroundings of the forest, and I can tell you that there is no such town near the Lurkwood. What is going on here? A strange gate. A dead postman and a village that doesn't exist..."
He looks at his companions. "Does one of you have an idea? Or what to do with all this mess? Or what did this bastard who kidnapped you do to us? ...But if what the letter says is true, and there really is a vampire somewhere here, then we should be extremely careful. I've had a lot to do with the undead, but I haven't fought a vampire yet. But I know that they are very dangerous."
OOC: what do i know about Vampires? Arcana: 10, History: 14 (i dont know what i should roll...take what is best for you. I do it with advantage because favored enemy Undead :D)
OOC2: There was a error by the roll...so i started to add it a second time...but than it worked...so i deleted the second add of the roll...The values standing there were the real ones I rolled first... don't be surprised...
Dartis jumps out of the wagon, hoping to stretch out his legs a bit. "I've no idea about the man from earlier. Last I remember, I'd found myself in an underground fight circle and got knocked out. Next, I'm here."
Dart furrows his eyebrows for a quick momeny when he looks at the decapitated body.
This does seem all out of place. Definitely something one would have heard of for this area. You go through your pack and retrieve one of your notebooks. Flipping through the pages, you locate your notes regarding the subject. Vampires are a particularly fiendish undead. They retain intelligence, and they still appear relatively human. They drink blood, sleep in a coffin, and sunlight is their greatest weakness. You've read texts that they can transform into a cloud of mist, a bat, or even a wolf. As far as you know, there haven't been reports of vampires in this area.
A wolf's howl can be heard fairly close somewhere in the woods. Soon, other wolves chime in as a choir. Their howls at the moment too close for comfort, and the mule whimpers audibly as it starts off again. This time, a bit of pep in it's hooved step until it comes to a river that flows clear as a blue winter sky. It stands as if out of place amoungst the dim surroundings.
The river is a little mesmerizing. That is, until a loud howl rips a patch of fog asunder. Outsteps a snarling wolf the size of a grizzly bear. It's toothy grimace paralyzes the mule, which promptly digs it's heels in deep to a dead stop.
The large creature's back fur stands straight up as it takes a lunging stance.
Johnny jumps out of the wagon, as it jounces to a stop and howls fill the air. A huge, snarling wolf, hackles raised, steps from the shadows, prepared to lunge. Johnny slips a rapier from it's sheath at his side, and a small dagger seems to jump into his offhand.
Readying his great sword, Graeme grins as he hears the fighting spirit from the group. Graeme places himself between the wolf and the group and let’s loose with a “here, boy” whistle.
Ears swiveling at the noise, the beast pounces forward towards the whistle. The large beast is faster then a regular wolf would be. Coming down, it opens it's maw wide and bites down hard on Graeme's left leg. Shaking it's head rapidly back and forth, it also tries to bring him to the ground. Please make a strength check.
The wolf snarls and grunts as it thrashes, but it can't seem to take the Highlander down. The beast lets go and bears its fangs, tail upright and puffed up.
Graeme, please take a point of inspiration.
Graeme and Johnny are at the same initiative. Please feel free to choose which of the two proceeds first each round. This will be as such going forward as well. Anyone who has the same initiative can go in any order of those with the same initiative.
Graeme wrests the beast from his leg. ”Ach! Awa’ n bile yer heed ya doaty bastard!” He yells at the wolf as he swings his great sword at the monsterous beast.
Tail swishing, the large wolf hops sideways to avoid the great sword swing and verbal assault. As if response, it barks in a low tone and chuffs a few times.
Johnny steps to the wolf's side and stabs out nimbly. The blade strikes true and spills blood as it punctures the dire wolf. Spinning around in a flurry, it glares at him with fierce intent and a growl to match.
Rubble is at initiative.
