Rumble darts out from the carriage, keeping to the shadows the best he can. He runs with his spear behind him, hidden, as if it were part of his body. He flourishes it and makes a jab at the wolf;
Catching a glimpse of the cold steel, the beast drops down as the spear pierces the air just above it. Haunched down and unable to dodge, the tabaxi's kick hits home square on the wolf's shoulder. Allen taps into his borrowed power and hurls crackling energy at the enemy. The erratic black magic soars over Rumble's crouched form and shocks the wolf. It's black fur puffs out and stands on end from the attack. Taking quick aim, the tiefling ranger let's loose an arrow that impales itself in the creature's side.
Dartis rushes towards giant wolf knowing that a beast this large will not go down easily! He grips his greataxe tightly and swings it to its nearest leg.
As the halfling approaches, the dire wolf spins around and rears up on its back legs; just nearly avoiding the cleaving great axe. Standing, it's lean and muscular form towers more than twice that of the young barbarian.
A bright red bolt of fire projects forward from Eira and collides with the creature's face. Knocking it backwards and off is feet, it crumbles to the ground ablaze. A windy gust carries the smell of burnt fur and another howl from the nearby forest.
The dire wolf has died, and we're out of initiative.
Johnny flinches and recoils as a bolt of fire slams into the dire wolf and sets it ablaze. It tumbles over and stops moving, greasy smoke and distant howling in the air.
"Holy hells," he says as he turns to the pink-haired mage. "I'm glad you didn't miss. Is uh...is everyone okay? We should probably get moving before more of these things show up."
"I second those notions" Dartis says as he was knocked back onto his butt from the sudden burst of flame. "I may be way out my mind out here, this wold was bugger than my own bed.."
Graeme watched in amazement as the team banned together to dispatch the wolf and at the Magic’s used. He hadn’t really seen Magic’s used, at least, not like this. Graeme reponds to Johnnys question “Oh, aye! It’ll take more than a’ wee nip to get the best a’ me!” He says with a grin. He turns to Eira and says with a slight giggle “Feckin’ good shot, lass! Well done!”
As Eira suggests moving on, another howl sounds off very close. So near that the old mule starts off as it brays anxiously. The mist spreads before the mule as it goes, and it's not long before it starts to thin out. Tall shapes loom out of the dense fog that surrounds everything.
As the group closes in, the muddy path underfoot gives way to slick, wet cobblestones. The tall shapes become recognizable as village dwellings farther out. The windows that aren't boarded up stare out from pools of darkness. No sounds cut the silence except for mournful sobbing that echoes through the streets from a distance.

Eira starts to chase after the mule in a hurry and yells out...
"Hey buddy wait up!! Don't leave your new pals behind!"
As we draw nearer, Rumble keeps a keen ear out to see if he can pinpoint the source of the sobbing.
what is this place.. he thinks to himself. Those perceptive enough see his tail fluff with anticipation.

Your calls unfortunately seem to not carry weight with the old mule, but you're able to get back on without much issue.
Rumble, your feline ears twitch and swivel, identifying the source somewhere off to the right. Up ahead, the road comes to a 'Y' shaped fork.
Rumble rugs on the right rein to guide the mule to the right path :)
