Rumble almost drops the damn coffin as he covers his hear with one hand. He looks around to see the source of the shriek as his tail fluffs up;

Hearing the ungodly scream Allen flenches, gripping his tomb. "What in gods name is that!"

Rumble, your sensitive ears instantly swivel and tilt slightly downwards to the right as you discern the source. It's as if the noise had come from beneath the rotting floorboards towards the second door on the right.

Has the priest responded or reacted in any way?

Rumble, your perception was pretty high. Even still, it appears the priest barely reacted. He's remains bent over in prayer. He's roughly 50 feet away, for reference.

[Does the screaming continue or was it a one time thing?]

Allen, just the once. After a few moments, it went and stayed silent.

"I guess we should set your father here for now..." pointing at the alter. Allen after they set the bugomaster down, will continue to the priest "Excuse me sir? We need to prepare a a burial site....Hello..."

"There's something... Or someone underneath us" he whispers to the group, as we approach the priest.

The group puts the Burgomaster down and proceeds forward into the brilliantly lit chapel. Overturned and broken pews litter the dusty floor. Dozens of candles mounted in candlesticks and candelabras light every dusty corner in a fervent attempt to rid the chapel of shadows. The human male, clad in well worn robe, stands up to greet the newcomers. He runs his gnarled hands through his greasy hair and puts his hands together to his front in a priest like gesture.

With a strained and hoarse voice, he welcomes everyone. "Welcome. I'm Father Donavich, how may I.." He stops mid sentence as he gets closer and gets a better look at the group and the coffin. "How may I help you?" His expression curious and a little unnerved.

Ireena shyly stands behind Ismark, making herself small as he takes up a wider stature. 

Graeme, standing outside, the group approaches the priest and begins to discuss something.

Donavich, the priest

"Like I said we need a burial site for the Burgomaster. What was that screaming?"

Donavich speaks wearily, "Ah, yes... Of course. Of course. As a servant of the Morninglord, it is my duty to assist those in need. We have space for souls of the dead in the cemetery out to the back." He pauses and coughs hard.

"Ah, the Burgomaster? A shame. You have my condolences. We can host a proceeding at your wishes." Walking forward, he addresses Allen, "I don't believe I heard anything, my devil friend. I was lost in deep prayer."

"Have you heard it before? An... unnatural scream come from below?" Rumble asks, suspiciously. Insight to determine this guy's possible motives: 16

Graeme realizes things might go south inside and runs in to join his group.

Allen will look the priest over and seeing his condition will try to diagnose his health. "Right...Well maybe you could use you rest I myself am a priest in training... kind of."

Medicine: 19

Graeme, you take your leave as your two companions begin to close and discuss. You make your way back to the group but are roughly 20 feet back.

Allen, taking in the way he holds himself, speaks, and overall appearance, something is amiss mentally. He's also haggard and his skin greasy as if from lack of sleep. His eyes bloodshot, and his eyelids at half mass, nose swollen and reddened. "Ah! A priest?! Please, tell me more. I can hold my own, please do go on." Donavich rubs his worn hands together feverishly and seems particularly interested in you now with mention of being of the cloth.

Rumble, the priest states, "I was praying all through the night and day. I, like everyone, seek the Morninglord's blessing." It appears that he is dodging the subject, but it doesn't seem he's aggressive in any way. It seems he really is exhausted and has spent many an hour in prayer. When Allen speaks, there's a glint of excitement in his eyes. The priest looks a bit ravenous to learn more about the tiefling.

"...Yeah its all in my tome...prayers spells it has it all.." Allen takes a step back "Well my family has served as guardians of the cycle of life and death... Well anyway we need to prepare the site.. for the Burgomaster..." 

Allen walks over to Ismark and Rumble whispering "You sure this guy is okay he is definitely deranged and hiding something from us. "

Rumble shrugs in agreement and looks at Ismark.

Graeme enters the church and looks around to see if he can detect any danger.

Perception: 9

"Yes, yes. Of course. It shan't take me any time at all. If you would accompany me around back so that we can get started." The priest turns away and pulls a nearby rope. A loud gong bell toll rings out, shaking dust from the rafters.

Graeme, coming towards the end of the hallway, you hear a young man crying out. "Father, I'm starving! So, so empty! Please!" It appears to be coming from the far right room, the hallway's last door at the end.

The voice is barely audible for the other two in the party, but you did hear something just as the bell rang.
