The (Black) Redbrand shakes his head, but appears to take no psychic damage from Herr Doktor's magical taunt.
Ian slides into the small room and brings his sword down upon the (Orange) Redbrand, the blow enough to dispatch the man.
OOC: Glyn, you have 5 feet of movement, but you also can't get to T3. Let me describe the room now that two of you are in there.
This long room is partitioned into three areas, with iron bars walling off the north and south. Filthy straw lines the floors of those cells, the hinged doors of which are secured by chains and padlocks. A pair of disheveled human women are held in the cell to the south, while a human boy is confined to the north. All are dressed in plain gray tunics and have iron collars fitted around their necks. A heap of discarded clothing is piled carelessly against the far wall.

So, Glyn, you're at U5, one bad guy is still standing at T4. You can go 5 more feet if you wish.
As Glynquinal moves to stand menacingly beside the last guard, Rock marches in and promptly swings his great axe, bringing the weapon down the man's chest and stomach, leaving a gory scene in its wake. The Redbrand screams in pain.
Grimmacing, the Redbrand lifts his shortsword and decides to go down fighting. Sizing Glynquinal up as the weaker of his two enemies, he swings twice at the rogue. (shortsword 1 attack: 22, damage: 3 piercing damage; shortsword 2 attack: 24, damage: 5 piercing damage) Both attempts succeed, but due to the man's injuries, he is weakened, and Glynquinal, while suffering his own painful injuries, is still standing.
Gruxx leaps over a dead skeleton, slides by Rock, and in one fluid motion, jabs his glaive toward the man his friend dragonborn is attacking. The pointy end enters the Redbrand's chest. The guard's movements halt as he looks at the weapon jutting from his torso, then up at the human barbarian. Finally, he slumps forward, Gruxx removing the blade as the human crumples to a heap on the floor.
In the short silence that follows, the sounds of heavy breathing reverb off the close stone walls. Finally, a sniffle catches everyone's ears and you look around at the three figures huddled within the two cells.
OOC2: Everyone gets 40 more XP for defeating the guards.
Glynquinal, wounded, and a little tired, sees the captives in the cells. Removing his Thieves Tools he will attempt to pick the lock to the south and free the captives.
Glynquinal says to the two in the cell, "I don't know who any of you are, but if the Redbrands were holding you likely you would be innocent."
None of the three prisoners moves as the cell doors are opened. The woman (the other two would be considered adolescents) furrows her brow at Glynquinal, looking more defiant than thankful. "Who are you?" She looks around at the others. "What's going on?"
Choosing to sit down against the wall near the cell Glynquinal turns to the woman, "We are not from here, but we have been dealing with the many problems caused by the Redbrands. I hope you gaining your freedom again will show you we mean no ill intent."
Drawing his flask, he takes a sip and offers it to the woman. "In truth, we are searching for our friend Gundren that was taken. We haven't seen him for some time, and were hoping in dealing with the Redbrands, we would find him along the way."
Gruxx pants puts his back up against the wall while using the glaive to hold himself up and slowly slides down the wall as he head slumps back. He watches down his nose at the interaction as he tries to take his mind off his physical pain.
Seeing Gruxx take a much needed rest as well Glynquinal says, "Friend Gruxx, I see you are as much in need of a rest as I am. This seems as good a place as any. Perhaps we should take a good long rest here before we press on."
Ian says I will take the first watch. Glyn do you want the second?
Ian will use some string and a bell to create a noise making tripwire across the door at P-5, and borrow some string and bell from Glynquenal to do the same for the doors at S-9/10.
Ian sets up at the door at S-5, a loaded crossbow in his hands.
Glynquinal grateful for the chance to rest, agrees."The second watch sounds pretty good right now. That last Redbrand managed to nick me a couple of times before he fell."
"Thank you. Yea, this place is takin' a toll on this body. I'll take third watch then. Should catch my breath by then. I appreciate ya'll being patient."

Glynquinal will take up a position at U4 then standing right in front of the Redbrand next to the cell bars.
OOC Orange is down for the count, so I think that means Rock, you are up! Just the Black Redbrand left.

Ian replies: Im alright. Just worried about the heavy hitters. You can give it, but you have also taken quite a bit as well.
