Glynquinal, drawing the arrow from his quiver that was wrapped with 2' of string, soaks it again with a bit of oil from the same vial. Using his tinder box to light the arrow, he quickly draws it in his bow, and fires across the river to A7 at a low angle not far above the ground.
After firing his arrow Glynquinal will attempt to hide using the briars for cover.
Once the signal is given (the Herr Doktor Professor assumes it's the flaming arrow), he begins weaving his hands in the air, a bit of fleece held between his fingers, but without saying a word.
The sound of someone pleading for help in the Goblin tongue begins to be heard, coming from the underbrush in E4 (if a Deception check is needed, DDP, you can use the Deception roll made earlier).
After quietly conferring and coming up with the plan, Glynquinal and Ian move quietly northward along the eastern edge of the stream, narrowly skirting the edge of the dense briers. A little ahead and Ian, Glynquinal pauses about 25 feet south of the break in the briers where he had seen the goblin guards. The rogue removes a few things from his pack and puts together a signal arrow. He waits until he feels like everyone should be in the proper place, then turns and gives Ian, who is huddling just behind him, a little nod. Ian uses a tinder box to light the makeshift wick and Glynquinal fires the arrow low to the ground west toward the briers on the other side of the clearing. The elves immediately ready two arrows to hopefully fire at advancing goblins.
Seeing the signal, the Herr Doktor Professor, who stopped about 10 feet short of the elves, but also skirting the stream and briers, begins weaving his hands in the air, a bit of fleece held between his fingers. The sound of someone pleading for help in the goblin tongue begins to be heard, coming from the underbrush 30 feet away on the other side of the clearing. Almost at the same time, Gruxx who had hurried across the clearing to the west side, raises his glaive high above his head, and shouts in goblin, "There is no one to help you here you elf-smelling goblin! You will make a tasty meal tonight!"
The goblins have 1/2 cover (+2 bonus to AC and Dexterity saving throws). You have no idea if they are reacting to the distraction. Walking through the briers is possible, but since it is difficult terrain, leaving a square of all red counts as 10 feet instead of 5. Also, I'll remind you that the locations of the goblins on the map are the last-known locations of the goblins.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The Herr Doktor Professor slides his rapier and dagger from their sheaths, then also readies an action: he will cast Vicious Mockery at the first goblin than appears in his line-of-sight. If the goblin fails its save, it will take 2 damage and have disadvantage on its attack.
Glynquinal will try to move quietly from K7 to M6 If he is successful and the goblins are not moving out he will try the closest one (yellow goblin) with short sword, and dagger.

OOC: I was giving you advantage, which meant I just needed a second roll (to go along with your previously rolled 1), Glynquinal. Not sure why you chose disadvantage, which rolled another two dice and dropped the highest. Anyway, the first roll was a 20, so that's what you get. Lucky you!
Not yet seeing any reaction to the distraction, Ian continues to hold his position, an arrow ready to release at the first sign of the goblin guards. Herr Doktor follows suit, readying his weapons, but also formulating in his mind what he will say to give disadvantage to the first foe that enters his sights. Glyquinal decides to take the fight to the two goblins he had seen before. He very stealthily slips into the briers and trees and moves northeast in an attempt to catch the two guards unaware. He slips out of the underbrush into the small blind, observing the two green-skinned individuals hastily readying their bows and encouraging each other in hushed goblin tones. He slips up beside the most south goblin (yellow) and slips his shortsword between the rips of the foe. It stops moving and makes a gasping, gurgling noise. Continuing his movement (to N5, I hope you're OK with that), the elf thrusts his dagger forward. The second (green) goblin, alerted to his presence by the first goblin's reaction, attempts to dodge the attack aimed at its head. The blade slices across the side of its temple, leaving a very deep, almost deadly gash and severing the bat-like ear on that side. The goblin screeches in pain and surprise. (Meanwhile, Gruxx has dashed across the clearing toward the mouth of the blind (J5).) The (green) goblin disengages from Glynquinal and runs toward the mouth of the cave. Ian sees it and released his arrow, but it misses the scurrying creature. Herr Doktor recites his mocking poem, but the creature is too far away to hear it. It enters the cave and disappears into the darkness.
OOC2: I've had to adjust the map to account for the actual cave, but keep HDP on the screen. Sorry for the weirdness and the changing of coordinates. I promise everyone is where they are supposed to be. And I didn't think about it until already uploading the graphic, but Yellow should have a big, red X on it.
Round 2: Ian, Herr Doktor, Glynquinal, Gruxx, Green (injured)
OOC, I am annoyed that I didnt roll higher on my attack - could have finished it outside the cave.
Ian will use his movement to get as close to the mouth of the cave as possible (35 feet) and (hopefully with darkvision out to 60 feet) is able to see the goblin, and will let fly another arrow at the goblin, if he is in range.
22 to attack
damage: 8
OOC, I dont see any reason I would have advantage on this, so no sneak attack, correct?
OOC, in case you were wondering, I assumed, based on 5 feet per square 'in game', and the open ground on the square 'in fiction', that Ian could make it to M-11 right at the mouth of the cave with his movement. (Originating Square [K-18] => K-17 => K-16=> K15 => L-14 => L-13 => M-12 => M-11). Please correct if need be.
DDP: Can I check at what square HDP saw the green goblin (hehe)? It might still be within the 60 feet range of the spell if the goblin didn't make it to the cave entrance yet.
OTOH, if HDP never saw the green goblin, then the ready action probably did not go off.
OOC: Sorry about that, folks! I went to HDP's character sheet to check the distance for vicious mockery and looked at minor illusion instead. And now, with the roll of 12, Green drops dead at the mouth of the cave. They say the tongue is sharper than any two-edged sword. I guess in this case, it's literally so. You are out of combat for the time being. One goblin is dead in the blind. One goblin is dead in the stream just outside the cave mouth.
OOC2: That brings up a point about dead bodies. (You're about to be in a lot of close quarters.) Stepping OFF a dead body square counts as difficult terrain. So, entering a square with a dead/unconscious body is 5 feet, but stepping to an adjacent square is 10 feet.
Stealth 21
The Herr Doktor Professor moves to K10, then makes a Stealth check to hide there: 22.
Gruxx will start loudly walking through the field to A,10 with his glaive held high shouting at the fake goblin noise in E,4 in Goblin.
"There is no one to help you here you elf smelling goblin! You will make a tasty meal tonight!"
Glynquinal having fired the flaming arrow will nock a second arrow and wait for the goblins guarding the cave entrance to come into view.
OOC: OK, I think I've got everything.
OOC, I would think Ian would wait, and try to get a surprise round, but maybe not with the distraction? Hopefully get advantage from surprise...
Ian is hiding at the edge .Of the briars, and will "ready an action." By nocking an arrow, and when he sees a goblin, he will attack.

He will mock them in Goblin with this chant:
"Klarg and King Grol were merry old souls,
They had so many minions on their rolls,
They did not know what to do.
So they sent their goblins out to die,
For heroes to slice, dice, or satirize;
Guess what's going to happen to you?"
