The Herr Doktor Professor shouts in Common: "Goblins! Yeemik is making a run for it! Why die for such a coward?" (Free action)
Surveying the battle, he sees the goblins look battered, making the wolves the greater danger (especially given their ability to attack with advantage). He casts Vicious Mockery at the black wolf Ian struck:
"Guten tag, kampfpoopser! The bugbear's kampfpoopser is already kaput! Are you so eager to join it?" (Standard action)
If the wolf fails its save, it will take 1 damage.

Both the (black and yellow) wolves lunge at Ian. (Black bite attack: 16; damage: 7 piercing damage — DC11 STR saving throw or be knocked prone if attack succeeds: 8 [should have been 11 with the -1, which still would have saved ... if he hadn't been knocked unconscious]) Ian falls to the ground unconscious after the (black) wolf's bite, but the (yellow) wolf still tears into his prone form viciously. (Yellow bite attack: 22; damage: 4 piercing damage)
OOC: An attack on an unconscious character is made at advantage and a hit is an automatic death save fail. A critical hit is two fails.
OOC: Gruxx, if you move forward to M2, you will need to roll a DEX save to find out if you fall down and/or hurt your feet on the ball bearings and/or caltrops Glynquinal spread. Your glaive will allow you to attack from 10 feet away, which means you do not need to move in order to attack the (yellow) goblin. I would suggest you stay where you are. What would you like to do?

More snarling comes from the south and Rock and Herr Doktor see a third wolf running up the cave. It gets to P5 on this turn and looks to attack Rock in the next round!
The (yellow) goblin drops its ruined shortbow and attempts to move closer to Gruxx, pulling its scimitar as it does so.
DEX save: 12
The creature is able to maneuver through the ball bearings and caltrops (to M2) and takes a swing at Gruxx. (Scimitar attack: 10; damage: 8 slashing damage) Gruxx twists at the last minute, and the scimitar glances off his thigh. While this wound was not dangerous in itself, the barbarian is looking rough overall.
The (black) goblin raises its shortbow again, grimacing at the pain of drawing back the string. It attempts to shoot Gruxx (at disadvantage). (Shortbow attack: 6; damage: 4 piercing damage) The arrow goes wide, missing the human.
The (green) goblin also fires another arrow at Gruxx. (Shortbow attack: 6; damage: 3 piercing damage) After releasing its own arrow, the (black) goblin groans in pain, throwing back its arm and hitting the (green) goblin, which causes its shot to ricochet off the ceiling and hit nothing.
Glynquinal swings with his dagger at the (green) goblin, but the creature is able to dodge out of the way. The scimitar, on the other hand, slices across the goblin's neck, and it falls to the ground dead.
OOC: I'm not keeping track of who picks up what. That's what your equipment tab is for.
OOC2: HDP, did you ever stand up?
Round 4: Ian (unconscious; 0 saves/1 fail), Rock, Yeemik, old man (prone), HDP (prone?), black wolf (injured), yellow wolf, green wolf, Gruxx, blue goblin (injured), yellow goblin (very injured), black goblin, Glynquinal
Ian, make a death saving throw.
Rock, go ahead and post. In the unlikely event that Ian rolls a 20 (regaining 1 hp), we'll make allowances that he might trump your move.

OOC: Rock, my friend, I need you to try to keep your character sheet updated. Item 1: You're raging, so one of your rages should be ticked off. Item 2: You're now wielding your greataxe instead of two handaxes. Item 3: You threw two handaxes. Were those the handaxes that are still in your equipment? If so, they should be deleted. Item 4: You're raging, so you get +2 to your damage, so your damage is actually 10 instead of 8. Especially at low levels, 2 points is a big deal, and I might not always think to double check behind you.
As the (green) wolf runs up to him, Rock turns and deftly plants his greataxe into the back of the canine, severing its spine and ending its life with one blow.
The old man attempts to rub the bindings on his wrists on the blade of the handaxe to free himself. (DEX: 9) Alas, he can't quite get the angle right and will continue trying.
OOC: I assume HDP is still prone since I didn't say that he stood up.
The Herr Doktor Professor clambers clumsily to his feet, losing precious seconds in this deadly battle. (He spends half his movement to stand up from prone.)
"Glynquinal! Gruxx! Wolves have taken down Ian! Rock is holding them off," he shouts, informing his comrades about the battle below the bridge. (Free action.)

If the wolf fails its save, it will take 1 damage.
As a move action, the exasperated Herr Doktor Professor then runs to N4 (behind Gruxx) to cover the old man from the goblins.
That's the end of my turn.
Black wolf's WIS save (DC13): 15
The wolf does not appear to be paying any attention to Herr Doktor.
OOC: HDP, the old man is in N4, so you could move to O3 or O4 if you'd like.

Gruxx, you're up!
Gruxx will continue to attempt to cleave through the goblins with his glaive. He will step forward and make an attempt against the (Yellow) Goblin.
Attack: 14 Damage: 12

I will stay put as suggested.

Glynquinal, you're up!
HDP will move to O4.
OOC: DDP, does HDP recall if Ian has the second healing potion?
Glynquinal seeing one less foe, and a badly wounded goblin at K1 looks to finish him, then turn his attention to the black goblin at K2 if he drops.
Dagger 1 to hit 9
Damage for dagger 1 7
Scimitar to hit 18
Damage for Scimitar 1
OOC I believe Ian only had the one healing potion.
OOC: Who got the second healing potion from the bugbear's treasure?
Glynquinal swings with his dagger at the (green) goblin, but the creature is able to dodge out of the way. The scimitar, on the other hand, slices across the goblin's neck, and it falls to the ground dead.

Death Saving throw 17
OOC, the dice have determined that Ian wants to live. Just barely clinging to life.
Laying unconscious, Ian dreams of his home, and his family, and the woods he grew up in.
Rock will attack the green wolf at P5 "FLUFFY BAD PUPPY"
To hit Great Axe 18
Damage Great Axe 7
Trying to keep fluffy off Ian

You're up, Herr Doktor! Are you still prone?
OOC: I assume HDP is still prone since I didn't say that he stood up.
The Herr Doktor Professor clambers clumsily to his feet, losing precious seconds in this deadly battle. (He spends half his movement to stand up from prone.)
"Glynquinal! Gruxx! Wolves have taken down Ian! Rock is holding them off," he shouts, informing his comrades about the battle below the bridge. (Free action.)
The Herr Doktor Professor then casts Vicious Mockery at the wolf Ian wounded (the black wolf):
"Miserable cur, biting the hand that feeds you!
Have you forgotten the elf's gifts of goblin meat?
Vicious cur, rotten through and through,
You'll die choking on your own teeth!"
If the wolf fails its saving throw, it will take 3 points of damage.
The Herr Doktor Professor then runs to R7 (using up his remaining movement).
If I can get to Ian, he thinks, the elf might still have a healing potion that I can use to heal him.
(End of round.)
