You all remember there was a pit trap after the rope trap. Ian just didn't remember as well as he thought he did where it was. As far as you know, this isn't new.

He then ritually creates an image of himself (Silent Image) and moves it as if he is walking to the entrance of the cave to see if any goblin or bugbear tries to attack it!
Glynquinal sees the image of Herr Doktor's doppleganger move close to the cave entrance with no apparent reaction. Deciding to move forward quietly and investigate the interior he moves along the left hand side of the entrance and pushes in far enough to investigate the first 50 feet.
HDP has darkvision, so he can see into the cave, even as the light diminishes, but the construction of the cave is going to make it difficult for him to keep the illusion looking like its where it should be if he maintains a 50–60 foot distance. If he can't keep it in sight, it's going to start entering walls and floor, etc. Can I fudge that number to keep it in the bard's sight at all times? That way, he can keep it looking realistic.
Glyn, since you're "sneaking in", go ahead and roll stealth. That goes for everyone who is being stealthy. Here's the map of what you discovered the last time you were here:
