Ian moves up to the door, sees these 5 hairy things, and immediately moves back the direction he came (now with the cape on). He says to the others: Gruxx, Rock, you guys are up. Big boys in there...go get em.
OK, so Ian puts on his cloak and moves to the top of the stairs. Once he takes in the scene, he moves back down the stairs and returns to the group. Glynquinal, do you still want to move to Z9?
Glynquinal dashes across the bottom of the stairs and stands with his back against the cold rock wall on the other side (Z9).
Rock, you can extend one blade, but not the one holding the lantern (I told you in #2625 that you can't hold something while the blade is extended). You and Gruxx are up; what are you two doing?
Rolling to see if Rock hits the spot: 2 — His aim was off by: 5
Readied attacks: 22, 21, 17, 15, 8
Damage for four successful hits: 2, 9, 8, 7 piercing, so 4, 1, 4, 4 = 13 damage total
Rock and Gruxx march forward. Gruxx begins grinding his teeth, causing his blood to boil in a rage. Rock stops at the foot of the stairs and underhand throws the lantern into the southern cave. The lantern tumbles through the air and lands right where the dragonborn meant it to, but then it somersaults and rolls five feet further (coming to rest in X15). Gruxx continues dashing up the stairs. As soon as he steps off the stairs, five arrows come flying at him. Four hit, but his rage keeps him from feeling the full sting of the projectiles. By the light of the lantern, he catches sight of the nearest dog person and heads for them.
HDP, you're up! Then, Round 3 begins, and Ian will be up.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Herr Doktor moves up to the doorway and sees the creatures. He takes a moment, manipulating the folds of magic, and casts Faerie Fire centered at T/U and 13 /14 so it affects the Yellow Blue and Black creatures. and looks across the room and casts Vicious Mockery on the Orange one, Wisdom Saving throw (DC 13) or take 2 psychic damage and have disadvantage on the next attack roll it makes before the end of its next turn.
Each creature in the area is also outlined in pastel pink light if it fails a Dexterity saving throw (Save DC: 13) . For a minute, objects and affected creatures shed dim light in a 10-foot radius and any attack roll against an affected creature or object has advantage if the attacker can see it, and the affected creature or object can't benefit from being invisible.
Ian will wait to see the results of those rolls before taking his turn.

OOC: Darn.
HDP moves to X10, casts his spells, then sidesteps to Y10.
Ian deciding he cant just let the big guys have all the fun, rushes back into the room now that they are distracted by Gruxx, hoping maybe they dont like the bright light of the lantern if they are used to darkness and he can catch them off guard.
Movement: Ian moves to Y-11, back against the wall, double teaming with Gruxx.
Action: Attack with the rapier, with sneak attack damage due to Gruxx's proximity to target. 20 Damage 8 + 12
Bonus Action: Offhand attack with dagger 8 Damage 1
Ian sidles up beside Gruxx and swings with his rapier, but the tall, hairy creature is able to dodge the attack. But when the elf jabs with a dagger, Gruxx's proximity is enough to distract it, and the blade slices across the target's arm. (8 damage)
In retaliation, the creature drops its longbow and draws its spear, clasping it with two big paws and jabbing at Ian. (spear attack: 8, damage: 5 piercing damage) The spear bypasses Ian's armor, jabbing into his stomach. (4 damage, 17 left)
(longbow attack: 22, damage: 2 piercing damage — longbow attack: 11, damage: 5 piercing damage — longbow attack: 15, damage: 4 piercing damage) Three more arrows fly through the air at Gruxx. Two land in the raging barbarian, and one hits the ground at his feet. (8 + 3 = 4 + 1 = 5 damage, 14 left)
(longbow attack: 20, damage: 5 piercing damage) The final creature fires an arrow at Ian, but the rogue sees the movement out of the corner of his eye, ducks, and the arrow clatters off the wall.
Glynquinal slides up the stairs and into the cave, heading for the (orange) creature. He draws both swords and swings them independently. The first bounces off the creature's hide armor, and then it dodges the second strike. Rock follows the elf in, a rage causing his dragonborn heart to pound, but heads for the (green) creature. He swings both of his new blades. The first attack lands, despite the creature attempting to deflect it. (11 damage) But it is able to dodge the second attack.
The (yellow) creature, still distracted by Ian's dagger cut, doesn't see Gruxx's glaive until the last second. It reaches up with one hand, but the glaive cuts through the wrist of the arm and, subsequently, the neck, of the creature. The body falls backward, and the hand and head roll and flop away. The remaining creatures bark and howl angrily in response.

The Herr Doktor Professor climbs the stairs, takes a quick inventory of the cave, and decides to aid Glynquinal. He hurries over to stand beside the elf. As he prepares to swing his weapons, he doesn't see a small pile of something on the floor, which he steps in. His foot flies out to the side, and the bard falls onto his hip and elbow. It's a slightly painful shock, but nothing he can't quickly recover from. (But HDP is now prone.)

Glynquinal does. want to take up a position at Z9 using the Cunning Action Hide, ad what cover may be found there from any incoming arrows.
Rock will. Move to x9 and toss the lantern in to the room, trying for. X14 to give back light to Grux and I.
