The Herr Doktor Professor retrieves the keg the dragonborn threw and returns it to him.
"Herr Doktor Professor Eldritch Jaeger at your service," he says with a slight bow and click of the heels. "Your assistance against these goblins was much appreciated. It was a good thing you showed up when you did.
"I much admire your dramatic entry into the battle. Is throwing this," the Herr Doktor Professor lifts the keg, "your signature way of announcing your presence to your enemies? That would make a great start to a story."
Seeing the light from Rock's torch in the distance, Herr Doktor leaves his lantern at the top of the stairs to light the cavern for Gruxx, then descends the stairs again to pick up the keg. He notices it isn't as heavy as he had expected. It is leaking copiously. He rotates the keg until the leaking seems to subside, and then he walks toward the dragonborn, who is keeping watch where Glynquinal had left him on the bridge.

Back in the southeast cavern, Gruxx unceremoniously upends one of the sacks with the lion crest — leaving a pile of caltrops on the floor — in order to put Klarg's head in the sack. (Please add that to your equipment list in the other equipment tab.) Glynquinal inspects the chest Ian pointed out to him and finds no traps. It is also not locked, so the elf opens the lid with no problem. Inside, he finds 600 cp, 110 sp, two potion of healing, and a jade statuette of a frog with tiny golden orbs for eyes small enough to fit in a pocket or pouch. Ian is busying himself tossing the two small goblins down the natural chute on the western end of the cavern.
OOC2: Are you going to take a long rest (at least 8 hours) or a short rest (at least 1 hour)? If you take a short rest, two of you should roll perception. If you take a long rest, since you have two elves in your party, they can half the time each, keeping watch while they are awake. The other three may join them for a portion if they wish. Usually, there are three shifts for watch, so one can take first, one second, and one third, if you wish. At least one of you per watch should roll perception. During a short rest, you can roll any hit dice you have left to regain some lost hp. Glynquinal would regain his misty step also. Long rests are required to regain rage slots, spell slots, bardic inspiration slots, and used hit dice.
As I see it: Remember that Gruxx and Rock can only see what is lit:
Glynquinal smiles at the contents inside the chest. "Well now, we have finally started finding something to make this adventure worth while. We have 600 cp, 110 sp, two potions of healing, and a jade statuette of a frog with tiny golden orbs here."
Glynquinal looks to Herr Doktor, "Herr Doktor, I could use at least a short rest, and I suspect Gruxx could too. Do you want to take a short rest, or do you need to rest for a longer time?"
To the group as a whole quietly with Rock standing guard, "Do we want so split this 4 ways or 5, and do we split this now or later? We might have had help at the end, but we had to fight our way into this place."
Closing the lid on the treasure chest, Glynquinal tucks the chest away for the moment in his pack, adjusting it so that it will ride comfortably when it's time to move on.
(Given the way I understand the short rest rules, if we take one we won't regain hit points since we already used our Hit Dice for healing earlier. A long rest sounds like the only way for injured party members to get back to full hit points.)
He also suggests holding on to the treasure for now, then splitting it five ways once we return to a town.
To Herr Doktor, Glynquinal says, "A long rest seems reasonable at the moment. That was a hard fought engagement. Ian and I don't need as much time to recover, I can take the first watch."
Gruxx stows the head in a sack and says, "This is a great spot to defend. This guy." Gruxx taps on his head sack. "Gave me quite a whack which I could use a long rest to recover from. I'll gladly take the middle shift. I'll just need light for my human eyes."
OOC: I fixed the tooltip error above. It's two potions of healing. In the book, they put the S on potion (potions of healing) and the tooltip worked, but it evidently doesn't work on the forum, so I had to change it to two potion of healing. Ah, well. Rock is hanging out on the bridge — maybe you should include him on this discussion about resting. It sounds like you're leaning toward a long rest in this strange, goblin-infested, underground dungeon land of opportunity. A reminder (since my last post was pretty lengthy): The elves can split the 8 hours and each rest for 4 hours and keep watch for the other 4 (Glyn said first and Ian said second). Each of the others can do a 1/3 watch, resting for the other 2/3. So, HDP, Gruxx and Rock should pick first watch, second watch or third watch to join Glyn and Ian in their two watches. Then, let's everyone go ahead and roll a perception check. Glyn and Ian, since you only need to rest for four hours, during your other four, you can do just about anything you want. The three that need 8 hours, during your watch, you can eat, read, study an object you might think is magical, or do something strenuous for a short time (like needing to defend yourself). Any lengthy bit of activity ends the rest, and you'd have to start over.
Glynquinal will approach Rock and let him know what the general plan is before starting his watch.
Glynquinal approaches Rock, "It looks like we are in need of a good long rest. The other elf Ian and I don't need as much time to recover so we are going to split the watches between us. It would help if the other three of you split the watches with us, but then get some good rest yourselves."
Ian is hidden away in the alcove at T10 while resting (somehow, despite the adrenaline of the day, is sleeping/trancing like a [elven] baby), but will take his watch in the same place Glenquenal is on the western side of the bridge.

Ian says, I could also use a longer rest. Havent felt 100% in a while. I will take the last watch.
Gruxx stows the head in a sack and says, "This is a great spot to defend. This guy." Gruxx taps on his head sack. "Gave me quite a whack which I could use a long rest to recover from. I'll gladly take the middle shift. I'll just need light for my human eyes."

After informing Rock he will post up at N4.
Perception 9
Rock turns to Glynquinal "My name is Rock, I will take rest now and be ready for 3rd watch" Rock will rest at R7.
Perception 11
Glynquinal replies to Rock, "I am Glynquinal, but my friends call me Glyn sometimes."
Gruxx says, "Once I'm down for the night I don't care too much for gettin' back up so I'll help out with first watch."
Perception: 5
The Herr Doktor Professor offers to take the last watch. By the time he takes his place, he should have his spells ready.
Perception check: 18
OOC, Did Gruxx pick up the caltrops when he emptied the sack?
OOC: No, Gruxx was just concerned about Klarg's head. Feel free to pick them up.
Also, wow at our perception rolls! Hope we don't get ambushed.
Ians perception for his watch:
11
DM roll: 14
LOLZ
So, Rock is sleeping in the passageway to the bridge and Glynquinal is keeping watch on the western side of the bridge. Where is everyone else?
Ian is hidden away in the alcove at T10 while resting (somehow, despite the adrenaline of the day, is sleeping/trancing like a [elven] baby), but will take his watch in the same place Glenquenal is on the western side of the bridge.
Gruxx will be at V,14 so that he can use the fire for vision.
