The breeder looks at Jason for a bit and nods at what he says as the group head over to the ship. As you arrive at the ship the captain greets you and welcomes you aboard. He does tell you the price of the voyage and meals has been paid for by the prince . As you stow your horses with the help of the crew you can see that there are already other horses stowed and they have a guard on them. Seem the prince has arrived and is ready to depart. Once you get all your gear and horses on aboard you will hear the captain calling out to his crew to shove off and you are soon sailing towards the west once again. The captain does tell you that the track back west will be a more northern trip as the winds are more favorable that way. You all do notice that the crew seems to be happy to see you on board again. Especially the ladies.
I let out a sigh of relief as the ship moves out of port, I'd half expected for us to be attacked again. Perhaps the sudden loss of all their pawns at once last time gave them pause. I still did not like the way that had turned out, but there was not much that could be done now.
I won't pry, but as we make our journey, I'll try to get a sense of this prince and the kind of man that he is.
Looking back at the city the river promises some safety at least. " Well, that could have turned out worse. All we need to do now is make it back with the prince safe and sound. " I force a smile. " What could possibly go wrong?". Caesar roots around the ship looking for snacks. I will settle into a room with Vickie and hope to meet the prince as well.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
With glad heart that we have successfully left port without additional incident, I look to the horizon as we depart, sending Ariel up to make sure no other ship is lurking ahead for an ambush. Once clear of any immediate or discernible threat, I'll continue my training on shipboard combat, as well as socializing with both crew and prince, as opportunity presents itself.

“Can you tell me the difference between a witch and a wizard?" "Sure, a wizard is what they call you when they want to hire you, and a witch is what they call you when they're getting ready to run you out of town.” SunWolf replied ― Barbara Hambly, The Witches of Wenshar
Once on board and have my horse and items settle, a sigh of releif comes over me. Happy to be going "home" but also wanting to get to know the Prince and the possible relationships between our two areas.
I go up on deck and watch the horizon and enjoy the sun and the light breeze as the ship moves out of port.
The ship sails north with the coast line just at the horizon as it makes its way along. Ariel does not see any ships waiting for them as the day passes into the afternoon. The Prince comes out on deck and greats everyone on the main deck. As he talks to you you get the sense he has a good head on his shoulders as he seems to be interested in you and the place he is going to be staying at. He asks about the area and the stronghold itself as he tries to understand more of the area he will be in.The afternoon is sunny and warm with a few clouds here and there.
Happy to be headed back, I'm reminded of the forest that was on our east side coming up the river where we could not scout things from above, but we could see things moving in the trees from the boat. Seeing Ariel come back from scouting the water I think, at least she came back. When I see the prince I ask the others, "What do you call foreign princes that are not your own? I know if he was our prince it would be like, your highness or something, but he's not ours."
I shrug. " Honestly, I think we call him your highness regardless of him being our prince or not. We called the king your majesty. It would be a little disrespectful to not do so in my opinion. "
"If I recall right, your highness or your royal highness is the official title to use for a prince of a foreign nation back on earth, but be ready to apologize if that earns some odd looks, there's no guarantee the convention is the same here."
I watch the skies for Ping, anxious to hear back from Lord Douglas.
I make sure to be thorough in my answers to the prince about our destination, explaining about the territory we've landed in, and the progress made thus far in expanding to tame the area. At an appropriate moment I will ask, "Your highness, the region between the trading post dock and the stronghold is dangerous yet, especially since Merklin has been known to send forces that far in our direction. I believe we can deliver you safely to our destination, but if that ever becomes doubtful, do we have your permission to send you ahead with an emergency teleport? It would just be you and Rachel, but it would get you to safety, and then Rachel can send reinforcements our way in a hurry."
As Jason talks to the prince about a safety plan he answers. "I know that the area to the west of the inner sea is not tame and with forces of Merklin there I know that my safety is paramount. My guards are willing to die for me if that means I live. I know this is their job but I do hope that we work together with you to make sure we all make it to your home safely. If you have to use the teleport device then I am all for it. I know that you are more familiar with the area so we will defer to you as we make out way back to your home."
It is later that night that ping arrives with a message from Lord Douglas. "I want to thank you and your group for becoming temporary ambassadors to a new land. I will have a more permanent person at the western docks when you arrive with the prince. You and your group along with the prince will be given a escort back to the stronghold so your group and you can have a few days off for the service you have provided for me. We will await your arrival back at the stronghold."
Herschel is able to make better time and soon comes to the edge of the forest and sees some farmland. Off in the distance he can see a stronghold. As he stops on the road way he is able to get his bearing and realized that what he thought was North was actually South. The Stronghold he sees is to the East. He can see people out in the fields working their crops. He does not see any modern tech.
Herschel will sit down directly off the trail for a minute to process the conflicting imagery (North is South, Amish farmers, no hint of tech or related health hazards...etc). He will assess his clothing compared to the farmers and try to hear any speech. He will look for possible needle marks, large bumps on his head, his scent and if he feels like he is hung over.
After the assessment, he gets to his feet and power walks toward the stronghold. If he passes close to any workers he will again try to hear their voices. If no one is speaking he will simply nod and continue toward the stronghold.
I nod, "Thank you for your trust your highness, I would not wish to move you without your permission. I do not anticipate trouble, but I prefer to have plans in place for worst case scenarios."
After Ping returns, I'll carry the faux winged squirrel, absentmindedly scratching its head as I share the message with the others, "Lord Douglas has sent an escort to meet us at the docks, along with a more permanent ambassador to replace us. It sounds as if all is well."
I'll return Ping to scouting duty, watching for sails or any other signs of trouble on the horizon, and try to relax on the journey as best I can.
I will spend some time getting to know the prince. When not relaxing on the roof I will try different forms each day such as a catfish and alligator. It is so intoxicating to feel and see the water as an animal does. As a alligator I swim slowly along under and around the ship.
OOC - During the trip, I will be crafting some more items - another set of Horseshoes of the Zephyr, and a 1/day icon of Feather Fall

Travis, gets himself ready gathers his gear feeds his horse. Then, heads off towards the boat with the others.

With my roll of 15 can I tell which tracks are freshest?
Herschel Looks at the tracks that seem to go both ways and determines that there are a set of tracks heading to his right seem to be the freshest.

I will head to the Right. If the path is fairly level and there’s enuf room I’ll go from the normal walk to more of a power walk.

Travis, joins the others on top deck to enjoy the wanning sun and breeze on his face as the boat sets sail and heads out again.
